    Hubungan Gaya Belajar Terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Esai Kelas XI SMAN 9 Padang

    The aim of this study is to examine the correlation between the learning preferences and essay writing abilities among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Padang in class XI F7 for the learning style questionnaire trial and class XI F5 for the learning style questionnaire test and essay writing skill test using a random sample with a total of 32 students. This research employs a quantitative approach utilizing the correlation method to investigate potential associations between the two variables, namely learning style variables and essay writing skills variables. The results of this study are that in the data requirements test, the data normality test and homogeneity test are carried out. The normality test for the two data obtained a value of 0.427> 0.05 for learning style and 0.068> 0.05 for essay writing skills so that the two variables are normally distributed. Furthermore, for the data homogeneity test, a value of 0.218> 0.05 was obtained so that the data was homogeneous. Then, the result of this research hypothesis is 0.002< 0.05, it can be inferred that a connection exists between the learning style and essay writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang

    This study aimed at examining the text forms and the text genres in the module English for Beginners which was used as a learning media at Language Consultant or English Foundation in Denpasar. This study used Qualitative research. The method of collecting data that is documentation and observation methods by note-taking technique. Then, the analysis which used was content analysis. The result of this study used informal method by words and sentences interpretatively. The result showed that consist of 77 (seventy-seven) text forms in the form of 53 (fifty-three) dialogue texts and 34 (thirty-four) monologue texts. Then the genre of text which appeared in this module is that 22 (twenty-two) descriptive genres and 14 (fourteen) narrative genres. The genre criteria appeared is that social function and linguistic reality which already appropriated with the criteria, however the generic structure had not fulfilled the structure criteria yet generally and tended to the structure were made in short paragraph so as the comprehension of the text were not incomplet

    This study aims to conduct a text analysis on Indonesian language textbooks in Grade X by focusing on (1) Language Use in Indonesian Language Textbooks in Grade X, (2) Conformity of Indonesian Language Textbooks in Grade X to the 2013 Curriculum, (3) Conformity of Indonesian Language Textbook Discourse to Strengthening Character Education for Grade X Students, (4) Impact of Indonesian Language Textbooks on Learning for Grade X Students. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research method with critical discourse analysis approach. The subject of this research is the Indonesian Language textbook Grade X for SMA/SMK, published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the 2017 revised edition. The results showed that from (1) language use, (2) conformity with the 2013 curriculum, (3) conformity of discourse with strengthening character education, (4) the impact of textbooks on student learning is included in the good category, feasible, and in accordance with the level of understanding of students. In accordance with these findings, it is expected that the government and teachers should work together to develop and improve the quality of Indonesian language learning books to make them more interesting in accordance with the times, relevant, easy for students to understan

    Language and social strata are intertwined in the context of language learning. Then language and mind are two important and interrelated aspects of the human experience. Understanding the complex relationship between language and mind can help us understand the world around us. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how differences in social strata affect the use and understanding of Arabic in learning, as well as how the representation of Arabic in social strata is reflected in language learning. This type of research is qualitative research and the method used is library research by utilizing sources from books, journals, and scientific articles. The results of this study are: (1) differences in social strata can affect the use of Arabic in learning and social strata can also be reflected in Arabic dialect variants; (2) the relationship between language and thought involves a complex interaction between language skills and cognitive processes (3) the representation of thought in Arabic language learning includes listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills in Arabic

    Writing skill is one of the critical linguistic aspects to be developed in language skills. One alternative to attract students' attention and motivation in the learning process is photographic image media. This research objective was to describe the writing skill of an expository essay using photographic image media in class X MIA 2 at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh. The expository essay included structural aspects, content aspects, and linguistic aspects. The research design was quantitative research with a descriptive method. The research population consisted of 172 students of class X MIA at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh, with a sample of 36 people. The research instruments were performance tests, observations, field notes, observation guidelines, and assessment sheets. The data collection technique in this research was giving an exposition essay writing test and documentation. The research indicated that the use of photographic image media could help students of class X MIA 2 at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh in writing expository essays. It could be seen in the results of the exposition writing test of students who obtained a mean score of 81.25 with a percentage of 75% in the capable category

    The problem in this research is how the principles of language politeness are found in the speech of PGRI Palembang University students and how the language politeness of PGRI University Palembang students is based on the level of pragmatic parameters.     This article review aims to collect and review articles that discuss the use of learning media in Problem Based Learning (PBL) based Indonesian language subjects. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach to articles in the last 10 years and obtained 10 articles that meet the requirements. Data collection was done through a literature review of previous articles related to the research. The findings obtained in this study indicate that there are a number of learning media that can be used in Problem Based Learning (PBL) based Indonesian language subjects, namely serialized picture media, wordwall media, animated video media, booklet media, comic media, spinning wheel media, and audio visual media. The conclusion that can be drawn is that these learning media are feasible to use to convey learning materials easily in Problem Based Learning (PBL) based Indonesian language subjects

    English Teacher Perception of Implementation Kurikulum Merdeka in English Teaching Learning Process

    This research was aimed to determine English teachers’ perception of implementation Kurikulum Merdeka in English teaching learning process at SMP N 6 Semarang. This study was conducted by descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected by interview 3 English teachers at SMP N 6 Semarang who implementing Kurikulum Merdeka. The results showed that Kurikulum Merdeka has impact in English teaching learning process. The entire English teachers make Tujuan Pembelajaran based on Capaian Pembelajaran in Kurikulum Merdeka. The teachers have also implemented a learning cycle, differentiated learning, and conducted assessment based on Kurikulum Merdeka. Although all English teachers have different perception on some categories, but they said that Kurikulum Merdeka has impact in English teaching learning process especially in students learning outcome

    Research objectives describe the effect of the problem based learning model assisted by strip story media on the X-grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Medan. Using an experimental method with a two-group post-test-only design The research instruments include biography text and language rules. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and tests. The data analysis technique uses the analysis requirement test, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The research results of the post-test class of the control class obtained an average score of 64.71, which is included in the good enough category. The experimental class post-test research results obtained an average value of 82.43, including the good category. The problem based learning learning model assisted by strip story media has a significant effect on the ability to write biography text in class X SMA Negeri 8 Medan, as evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test, which obtained tcount> ttable, namely 9.79 > 1.69, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted
