    DEVELOPING THE SKILLS OF WRITING GERMAN PARAGRAPH THROUGH THE MODEL OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING WITH JIGSAW TEHNIQUE (Action Research in MAN 2 Kota Serang )

    AbstractThe objective of this research is developing the skills of writing paragraph through the model of cooperative learning with jigsaw technique. The objects of this study were the students of Islamic state high school 2 Kota Serang on the XI grade of language program in the second semester academic year 2015/2016 amounting to 32 students.The instrument of data collection was early test, questioner, observation, collaborator arguments and final test and the technique of data analysis were descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative techniques. This research was an action research with 3 cycles and each cycle consist of threemeetings. At the end of each learning cycle each student was given an individual writing test and the results of this test become the basis of the success of a research action. The results of activities in this study stated that there is an increase both in process and improvement of student learning outcome.This is evidenced by the student’s writing results from average increase obtained from the first cycle to the third cycle.Teaching using cooperative learning model with jigsaw technique is an effective and appropriate learning model and it can maximize the learning outcome, one of them is improving the skill of writing German paragraph.Key words : skills of writing paragraph, cooperative learning model, jigsa

    POLITENESS IN THE SPEECH OF CHARACTER IN "KEY EYE by HELLA S. HAASSE" NOVEL (Content Analysis Methods)

    AbstractThe purpose of this research is to comprehend the language comprehensively in the novel "Key Eye†by HELLA S. HAASSE. This research uses qualitative research with content analysis method. Data were collected through speeches of characters in novels, observations, and recordings. Analysis and interpretation of data shows that politeness in the speech of the character in the novel “Key eye by HELLA S. HAASSE" divided into positive politeness and negative politeness, as well as the maxim according to Geoffrey Leech. These findings can be a recommendation for students to understand the comprehensive politeness by reading the novel "The Key Eye by HELLA S. HAASSE†as an alternative source of learning on politeness. This research is also recommended to the next researcher to use this research as a reference in his research.Key words: Politeness, Maxim, Novel, Content analysis

    ENHANCING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL THROUGH JIGSAW COOPERATIVE LEARNING (Action Research In X Class of MIA SMA Negeri 2 DKI Jakarta)

    Abstract Many factors make quality education or not. These factors include the professionalism of educators, educational inputs both in the form of student input and facilities (infrastructure input), learning process, environment and others. This paper attempts to confirm the process of improving students' speaking skills on English subjects through cooperative learning of Jigsaw models on students in X Class of MIA SMA Negeri 2 DKI Jakarta. The subjects were 108 students studying speaking English The subjects then were randomly assigned into experimental group and control group The experiment lasted for nine weeks started with pre-test in the beginning and ended with a post - test in the last meeting. During the treatment, the teacher applied planning, drafting, revising and editing stages in learning. The result shows Learning outcomes in students, especially speaking skills in students in SMA Negeri 2 DKI Jakarta has increased. This is evident through the experiments on cycles I and II both for class 10 Mipa 1, from the mean of 70.9167 to 84.2778. class 10 Mipa 2, from the average 71.8056 to 86.2222 and for class 10 Mipa 3 from the average 70.5833 to the average 84.2222 so that the total increase during applying the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model from the initial value.     ABSTRACTIn comuniction and social interaction process appear a speaker to use language variation, like: code switching and code mixing. This research only focused in code mixing. Code-mixing was mixing foreign language elements in to the structure of main language. The purpose of this research was to describe the form, background and function of the use of code-mixing in the opinion writing of Media Indonesia News paper. This study used qualitative research. Based on the data analysis, obtainsed descriptions of the use of code mixing form of phrases, words, baster and clauses, description of the background of code- mixing that used outer code- mixing ie. ie using English.     THE IMPACT OF ONLINE PEER FEEDBACK ON EFL STUDENTS WRITING AT TERTIARY LEVEL

    AbstractThe need for supporting the practice of teaching English as Foreign Language (EFL) writing at tertiary level has been the major concern for researchers and practitioners. Peer feedback has received much attention since its effectiveness in enhancing students writing ability. However, English teachers have often encountered time constraints and large class during the writing process. Currently, Facebook becomes one of the most popular social network site (SNS) in Indonesia and has been a very potential platform to help English teachers to facilitate learning. This paper attempts to confirm whether the use of Facebook as a medium of peer feedback outside the classroom can improve EFL Students Writing ability. The subjects were 81 undergraduate students studying Essay Writing which is a compulsory subject in English Department in Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The subjects then were randomly assigned into experimental group and control group. The experiment lasted for eight weeks started with pre-test in the beginning and ended with a post-test in the last meeting. During the treatment, the teacher applied planning, drafting, revising and editing stages and online learning with Facebook as the medium to facilitate the students peer feedback. The result shows online peer feedback with Facebook may be used as an effective instructional media. It could help students improve their writing ability as well as critical thinking.     COMPARISON OF HUMAN TRANSLATION WITH GOOGLE TRANSLATION OF IMPERATIVE SENTENCES IN PROCEDURES TEXT

    AbstractThis study aims to analyze the similarity between human translation and machine translation to translate procedural text. This research uses Content Analysis approach (Content Analysis). The analysis was performed on English procedural text on a "VIXAL Lebih Wangi" cleanliness product translated into Indonesian by Nia Kurniawati (representing human translation). Meanwhile Google translation is used to represent machine translation. The study of the equations compared in this study is from the aspect of the phrase and the meaning of the whole sentence in the results of the two translations. The result of the discussion shows that the equation between human translation and machine translation in translating procedural text is low, i.e 29%.     GREETINGS VARIETY TO SHOW POLITENESS IN GORONTALO LANGUAGE

    Abstract This research aims to present the forms of greetings in Gorontalo Language and the examples used in society. The study focused on the use of Gorontalo language and took place in Ayula Tilango Kecamatan Bulango Selatan. The data were obtained through observation and elicitation. The results indicated various greetings based on Based on the findings, in Bahasa Gorontalo, there are, namely: Name in the form of kinship relationship (family connection – Vertically), name in the form of horizontal relationship (intimacy, friendship and body shape), name has a collective identifying character of the clan / fam (surname), name with religious title, name contains a custom title or an honors degree (given for personal achievements, a hero or died important person, important status in local government), and name contains a noble title.     IMPROVING THE DEBATE ABILITY THROUGH INQUIRY METHOD AND AUDIO VISUAL LEARNING MEDIA IN COURSE OF SPEAKING SKILL (Lesson Study Results)

    AbstractThis study aims to apply the model of professional development of lesson study in Speech Skills course through debating ability of student of lndonesian language and literature study program of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Muhammadiyah University Professor Dr. Hamka. This lesson study program involves various elements, namely the lecturers team of lesson study, lecturers of speech skills students and semester III students of Indonesian Language and Literature Studies Program FKIP UHAMKA. This research uses Classroom Action Research which consists of (1) Plan stage, is development of teaching materials that is debate. (2) Do stage in the form of activities or implementation in the classroom by the model lecturer in the form of learning to students of the third semester, and (3) See stage or joint reflection between the model lecturer and the observer team about the advantages and disadvantages of teaching materials and processes that have been implemented. Lesson Study activities are designed in two cycles, each cycle consists of 2X meetings, at each meeting will be Plan, Do, and See stages in each learning process. The purpose of phasing in each cycle is to improve the students 'ability to speak which was previously passive, but continuously improved by using appropriate methods and media can improve students' ability in expressing their arguments so that students can improve their ability to argue. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the implementation of lesson study has given satisfaction to lecturer model and observer and student. (2) the are able to produce lessons (RPS, LKM, teaching materials, learning media, and quality assessment instruments) as they are made together with model lecturers and lecturers observer teams) (3) Dean of FKIP Uhamka’s support and its staff on lesson study activities for the improvement of lecturers professionalism that will ultimately improve the quality of education.Keywords: Ability, Inquiry, Media, Speech Skill

    This study was conducted to assess various languages trader deals in Bocor Beach Kebumen in terms of perspektik sociolinguistics. The aim of research to find out the deals utterances used by hawkers at Bocor Beach Kebumen, knowing offers a variety of language used by hawkers at Bocor Beach Kebumen, and knowing use of vocabulary that deals used by hawkers at Bocor  Beach Kebumen. This study used a qualitative approach. The method used in this research is descriptive and analytical. The data used in this research is data in the form of a variety of language associated with language diversity offers Bocor beach hawkers.     ABSTRACTThis research aimed to gain a deep understanding of comparative characterizations, household status, occupation or profession, and socio-cultural background of the third figure women widowed in a collection of short stories (short story), a literary review cross reference. This research seeks to understand the phenomenon of characterizations of women widowed in three short stories that are then compared between the three. Approach this research in the form of a qualitative approach and methods used are content analysis methods. The process of data analysis in this research is not based on an effort to test the hypothesis, but rather attempted to develop a theory or framework of thinking based on the theory of literary sociology, so researchers retain a major role as a tool research. Data sources the study consists of three short stories namely (1) “Namanya, Massaâ€, by Ratna Indraswari Ibrahim, a short story from Indonesia, (2) “Tarian Hamil dan Penyair Bulan†by Johari Tarif, short stories from Malaysia, (3) and "Norhayati" by Amil Jaya, a short story from Brunei Darussalam. The topic of this research inspired the character equality is in the short story from the collection of short stories in the book Menjenguk Dunia Batin Cerpen Serumpun (MDBCM). The findings of this research in the form of naming differences, education, household status, employment, and socio-cultural background. For the differences of the characters, properties, and the habit of the third figure women widowed: Massa, Lely, and Norhayati is caused by the difference in the level of education, occupation or profession, and socio-cultural environment.Keyword: characterizations, women's widow, short stories, literary cross referenc
