Most people understand that the learning of Kitab Kuning in pesantren is more focused on the normative teachings of students referred to from at-turast written in Arabic. Therefore, to be able to understand it, it is necessary to have the ability to understand the science of nahwu, sharaf, mufradat, balaghah, mantiq, kalam, fiqh, and Sufism. Apart from the general understanding of learning in Pesantren, it turns out that researchers have found the meaning of humanity and spirituality from the treasures at turast that the students learn. The learning strengthens student s' attitudes toward religious moderation and their attitude to diversity amid the diversity of Indonesian society. The researcher obtained this finding while learning the process in Pesantren As-Shuffah Rembang. This study used the phenomenological and autoethnography methods. From this method, the researcher found the meaning of humanity and spirituality of Kitab Kuning, because it is inseparable from the strengthening of learning in understanding the humanity of the Kitab Kuning language. This learning strengthening is carried out through the following: first, strengthening the existence of Kiai during the study of turast; Second, the presence of Kiai forms students' awareness of their universal intelligence. Third, introducing the instrument validates the meaning of the Kitab Kuning from the perspective of maqashid as shari'ah. Fourth, students' linguistic reasoning is strengthened to understand the humanity of the Kitab Kuning

    No full text
The artificial technology revolution has penetrated various sectors including intelligence education, but its implementation in basic Islamic education remains limited and has not been comprehensively explored. This gap creates an urgency to examine the potential of ChatGPT artificial intelligence as a learning assistant in the context of Islamic education at the elementary level. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of ChatGPT integration in improving understanding of Islamic concepts among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary School) students. Using a mixed method approach with sequential explanatory design, this research involved 80 students from grades IV-VI from two Madrasah Ibtidaiyahs in Jember and 12 teachers and administrators. The experimental group received ChatGPT-assisted learning developed for basic Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Ethics) and Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) materials, while the control group followed conventional methods. The results showed a significant improvement in conceptual understanding in the experimental group (Cohen's d = 1.38) compared to the control group. Qualitative analysis revealed important findings about the transformation of the teacher's role, the technology adaptation process, and AI integration models based on Islamic pedagogical principles such as tawazun (balance), tabayyun (verification), uswah (exemplary), and ta'awun (collaboration). The research results also showed that ChatGPT's effectiveness varied based on the type of material, with procedural materials such as Fiqh benefiting more compared to abstract conceptual materials such as Aqidah. This research contributes to the development of an integrative model of ChatGPT usage in Islamic education that enriches the learning experience while maintaining traditional values

Transformation of PAI Learning Through Approaches to Active Deep Learning Experience (ADLX) In The Digital Era

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning often encounters negative perceptions among students. This is because the learning model used is still conventional, resulting in a rigid and monotonous perception. Therefore, an adaptation using an innovative learning model is needed in order to attract student participation during the learning process. This study aims to examine more deeply the transformation of PAI learning using the model Active Deep Learner Experience (ADLX) and find out how it impacts Islamic Religious Education learning. Using the literature study method, the author collects sources from accredited journals as primary data in the study and analyzes them using content analysis. The results of the study indicate that the ADLX model is able to provide a significant impact in various aspects, including critical reasoning, character development, learning motivation, student involvement, academic achievement, and technology utilization. Not only that, the use of the ADLX model is able to change the direction of negative perceptions towards active and innovative Islamic Religious Education learning. This study is still limited to literature analysis without involving empirical testing in the field. For this reason, further research is needed to explore more deeply the implementation of the ADLX model in various educational institutions

The Democratisation of Islamic Education: A Study of Two Islamic Schools in Central Java

    No full text
The shift in the democratization of education has been influenced by the decentralization of education in Indonesia since 2001. The shift in the dominance of education management from centralized to decentralized can also be seen within Islamic educational institutions. Democracy can be seen, among others, by applying the concept of community-based education in a national education administration organized by Islamic institutions. Data were obtained through interviews, participatory observation and document study. Interviews were conducted with key informants: the principal, teachers, parents, students and the user community. The characteristics of democratization in Islamic schools generally begin with a dialogue between democracy and Islamic teachings. The acceptance of democracy in Hj Isriati's institution is understood as a concept that aligns with Islamic teachings (humanistic model). The acceptance of democracy in Al-Azhar school can be classified into integralistic democratization. Democratization in Islamic schools in Semarang city in managerial aspects is generally based on competitive and professional aspects. This is because Islamic schools are private schools whose funding sources are mostly from the stockholder community, which demands high competition and professionalism to exist in the community. Democratization in the aspect of learning in Islamic schools is generally based on Islamic characteristics and becomes the most prominent feature in democratization in the aspect of learning

Exploring The Contribution of Mind Mapping-Based Constructivist Strategy on Fiqh Learning Outcomes

Improving fiqh learning outcomes requires empirically tested learning strategies following the characteristics of the material and learning. This study aims to examine (1) the effect of constructivist-based mind-mapping learning strategies on cognitive learning outcomes of fiqh subjects with intelligence control (intelligence) and (2) the influence of constructivist-based mind mapping learning strategies on cognitive learning outcomes of jurisprudence subjects with control of learning motivation. This research uses an experimental design carried out at MAN 1 Semarang City. Data were collected using tests (learning outcomes), questionnaires (learning motivation), and documentation (intelligence). Next, the collected data were analyzed using simple Variance Analysis (Anava) and Covariance Analysis (ANAKOVA) techniques. The results of data analysis found that constructivist-based mind-mapping learning strategies significantly influenced students' Fiqh learning outcomes after controlling their intelligence/intelligence and learning motivation. This shows that if the level of intelligence is the same, the Fiqh learning outcomes achieved by students who follow constructivist-based mind-mapping learning strategies are higher than those achieved by those who follow conventional learning strategies. Likewise, if motivation levels are the same, the jurisprudence learning outcomes of students who follow constructivist-based mind-mapping learning strategies are higher
