Quest’ultimo è invece interpretato e supportato con efficacia dall’ermeneutica, contro cui il nuovo realismo ha acceso una dura polemica.The philosophical movement known as “New Realism” is based on assumptions which are alien, if not plainly hostile, to literature. Therefore it has little to share with literary realism, which on the contrary is effectively explained and supported by Hermeneutics, i.e. by the frequent polemic target of New Realism.

Get PDFL’articolo propone un percorso d’analisi sulle strategie di riscrittura e di ripresa di alcuni testi di Primo Levi nel film documentario La strada di Levi e nell’opera parallela La prova. Focalizzandosi sul secondo romanzo di Levi, La tregua, questi lavori evadono dalle consuete pratiche di adattamento, sviluppando forme di riscrittura nelle quali la manipolazione critica delle testualità pregresse è posta in tensione con nuovi testi messi in scena, immagini, video, riorientando la percezione dell’ipotesto entro ulteriori linguaggi. È attraverso tale spazio di circolazione di linguaggi artistici e di pratiche intermediali, che gli autori Davide Ferrario e Marco Belpoliti sembrano poter condurre una riflessione sulle forme culturali dello sguardo e delle odierne pratiche di lettura della realtà (nella sua temporalità e memoria come nella sua spazialità) e della sua traduzione attraverso codici semiotici molteplici. In tale spostamento costante del proprio oggetto di riscrittura, La strada di Levi e La prova si mostrano così quali nodi o reti di un processo di lettura dialettico del presente e del passato, in un tentativo di tracciare alcune mappe del mondo contemporaneo. The essay suggests an analysis of the documentary film La strada di Levi and the correlated work La prova. Focusing on Primo Levi’s book La tregua, these works show a different attitude about adaptation through a constant reorientation of the source text and its juxtaposition with new texts and images, and through a projection of these elements within additional languages. In this way, the authors, Davide Ferrario and Marco Belpoliti, offer an experience of an intermedial artistic practice that involves a reflection on the cultural forms through which the texts interpret the reality (and its temporality or memory) and its translation through multiple semiotic codes. The effect of this kind of work is the perception of the documentary film as a network that enable a strong dialectic about the present, the past and its memories in the way to attempt a thick description of our culture and to draw some maps of the contemporary world

Get PDFNarrative Medicine is a clinical practice, a scholarly field, and a site of intensive research worldwide. This essay describes the inauguration of the field of narrative medicine in 2000 at Columbia University in New York, NY, USA and the principles and practices that have devolved from the initiating work. Clinical implications of narrative concepts of health care as learned from actual medical practice are described. The three movements of narrative medicine—attention, representation, and affiliation—are explored as means of engaging participants in creative acts of discovery and relation. Examples are provided of narratively-informed teaching and health care practice. Conceptual frameworks from aesthetic theory, phenomenology, literary and narrative theories, and cognitive sciences are advanced to portray the integrated study of individuals-in-the-world made possible by contemporary narrative medicine thought. Emerging concepts of enchantment, embodiment, and enactivism suggest future directions for the field.

Get PDFL’autobiographical Self è un sistema integrato che sussume non solo gli stili cognitivi e le tradizioni culturali del contesto sociale in cui ci formiamo, bensì tipologie narrative assai eterogenee quali le autobiografie, le life narratives, le family stories, le conversazioni genitore-figlio, tutte le narrazioni finzionali cui veniamo esposti, dalla letteratura alla televisione. Per questo Occidente e Oriente differiscono. In Occidente i genitori favoriscono nei loro figli la costituzione di un Self autonomo e indipendente sollecitandoli a elaborare storie personali e a mettere in archivio una memoria individuale fatta di elementi unici e irripetibili; in Oriente l’operazione di reminiscing narrativo favorita dai genitori tende invece a infondere nei figli un forte senso di appartenenza alla comunità attraverso un socially-centered approach che fa perno sulla figura materna, attenta a mettere sempre in risalto le relazioni interpersonali e l’agire del «noi» in quanto gruppo. The integrated system Autobiographical Self subsumes not only the formative social context’s cognitive styles and cultural traditions, but very heterogeneous narrative types such as the autobiographies, the life narratives, the family stories, the parent-child conversations, all the fictional narratives that we are exposed to, from literature to television. That’s why East and West differ. In the West, parents encourage their children to establish an autonomous and independent Self urging them to develop personal stories and to file an individual memory made up of unique and unrepeatable items; in the East the favored patents’ operation of narrative reminiscing tends instead to instill in their children a strong community sense through a socially-centered approach that focuses on the mother’s figure, careful to emphasize the interpersonal relationships and the “we” acting as a group
Sul Baudelaire di Walter Benjamin Dalla teoria della traduzione alla sociologia della letteratura
Get PDFI vivaci studi italiani degli scritti di Benjamin sulla poesia di Baudelaire (editi da Solmi nel 1962) hanno spesso trascurato l’importanza di allargare la propria prospettiva all’edizione francese del 1974 (Payot), contenente tre importanti saggi noti in Germania dalla fine degli anni ’60. Poiché tali testi sono stati finalmente tradotti in italiano solo nel 2006 (Einaudi) e ripubblicati nel 2012 in un’edizione più articolata (Neri Pozza), ci proponiamo di rilanciare un nostro studio a partire dalla versione italiana, per mostrare come essi gettino le basi della sociologia materialista della letteratura di Benjamin, ancora insufficientemente esplorata. Formatasi proprio muovendo dalla pratica traduttiva dei Quadri parigini, essa ha analizzato il ruolo della bohème, del flâneur e della modernità nell’eroismo lirico di Baudelaire all’apogeo del capitalismo

No full textL’articolo si propone di indagare un aspetto spesso trascurato della carriera di Ju. M. Lotman, ossia quello di attento studioso e profondo conoscitore della cultura e letteratura russe del XVIII secolo. Il ‘Lotman settecentista’ è stato infatti posto in secondo piano rispetto al ‘Lotman semiotico’, forse a causa della grandezza dei risultati scientifici raggiunti in quest’ultima disciplina (la fondazione dei Trudy po znakovym sistemam, l’impostazione del problema e della metodologia per la semiotica della cultura solo per citarne i primi). Tuttavia, il Settecento ha rappresentato per Lotman un costante interesse nel panorama dei propri studi, dal periodo universitario fino agli ultimi anni di vita. Il profilo di Lotman come settecentista viene definitivamente stabilito grazie a una consistente bibliografia ragionata, contenente tutti i lavori di Lotman aventi il Settecento come tema. Ordinata secondo due criteri (cronologico e tematico), permette da un lato di illustrare lo sviluppo degli interessi metodologici di Lotman sul tema, e dall’altro di dare conto di quali personaggi o risvolti letterari del periodo più hanno attirato l’attenzione dello studioso. Degli stessi lavori viene fatto l’elenco (purtroppo scarno) delle traduzioni in lingua italiana. The article aims to investigate an aspect of Lotman’s academic career (that has often been neglected), which is that of scholar and expert in eighteenth-century Russian culture and literature. Lotman as an eighteenth-century scholar was indeed overshadowed by the ‘Semiotician Lotman’ – maybe because of the greatness of the scientific results achieved in this latter discipline (only to name a few: the foundation of Trudy po znakovym sistemam, or the posing of the problem and of the methodology for the Semiotics of Culture). However, from the university period until the last years of his career, the eighteenth century represented a constant interest for Lotman. The profile of Lotman as an eighteenth-century scholar is ultimately established by a significant annotated bibliography, covering all his works on the eighteenth century. It is ordered following two criteria, chronological and thematic: the former illustrates how Lotman’s methodological interests in the topic developed over the years, while the latter highlights what personalities or literary events mostly attracted his academic interests. A (short) list of the translations into Italian of the same works is provided as well
