No full textThe discussion of qira\u27at is one of the most fundamental studies in Ulūm al-Qur’ān. This is closely related to various factors that can lead to various issues. The method of recitation is also considered as one of the proofs of the authenticity of the Qur’an. The fact proves that through authentic and even mutawatir narrations, the qira’at imams teach it meticulously and directly (musyafahah). Furthermore, in its implications, differences in recitation methods may lead to discrepancies in determining the legal rulings contained within a verse. Such biases may also occur in other aspects of Islamic teachings, such as creed, ethics, and others

Through an approach of textual and contextual analysis, this research explores various tafsir approaches used in Islamic history and their application in contemporary contexts. The role of tafsir as Islamic hermeneutics lies not only in understanding the meaning of the Qur\u27anic text but also in connecting it with social, cultural, and political realities. This research also explores the relevance and challenges faced in applying Islamic hermeneutics in contemporary contexts. Through this in-depth analysis, it is hoped to gain a better understanding of the role of tafsir in enriching religious understanding and guiding religious practices in contemporary Islamic society

No full textDalam tradisi kesarjanaan Islam, sayangnya, khazanah yang sangat luas dari konsep Ahli Kitab tidak mendapat perhatian yang cukup serius sebagai pijakan kaum Muslimin untuk membangun hubungan antar agama yang inklusif. Sebagaimana istilah-istilah lain dalam tradisi Islam, seperti al-dīn, ummah dan lainnya, istilah Ahli Kitab biasanya dipahami dan difungsikan sebagai kriteria penilai bagi hubungan agama-agama itu. Fungsi ini secara apologetis bisa bermuara pada dua sikap yang saling melengkapi. Pertama, istilah Ahli Kitab digunakan untuk menjustifikasi bahwa dalam Islam hubungan agama-agama telah diintrodusir walau dengan catatan-catatan yang carut-marut. Kedua, dengan istilah itu pula karena gambaran-gambaran kritis yang disajikan al-Qur’an tentang Ahli Kitab menjadi pembenar dan pengesah bagi kaum Muslimin untuk mengambil jarak teologis kepada mereka. Penitikberatan istilah Ahli Kitab sebagaimana di atas merupakan cermin dari keberagamaan yang bersikap normatif-idealistik yang mengukur tingkat keberagamaan dari aspek-aspek formal ajaran agama saja, sehingga semangat dari istilah itu kurang mendapat perhatian serius. There are several reasons that demonstrate the significance of Schuon\u27s discussion in relation to modernity. Firstly, Schuon is an intellectual who was born, raised, and directly engaged with Western civilization. Therefore, his authority in discussing Western civilization is unquestionable. Secondly, Schuon is a recognized expert in Comparative Religion, known for his proficiency in explaining various religions. This is acknowledged by the adherents of the religions he describes. Due to his expertise, Schuon\u27s thoughts, including traditionalism, are widely listened to and even followed not only by the Islamic community—the religion Schuon eventually chose and adhered to—but also by followers of other religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and others
