Competition is a common phenomenon among adolescents, that shows the drives to express the ability, to compare self with others, and to strive to be the best. This study wasaimed to assess whether the engagement, sense of worth, and social competence can be the predictors of the emergence of competition in adolescents. Subjects were amounted to 232students, including the students from favorite and non-favorite junior and high school in the city of Yogyakarta and Gunungkidul. The instrument used were the engagement’ scale, senseof worth’ scale, social competence’ scale, and competition’ scale. The data then were analized using regression approach and also t-test for additional analysis. The results showed that therewas the influence of engagement, sense of worth, and social competence to the competition (F=65.274, p<0.01). Taken together anyway, engagement, sense of worth, and socialcompetence in adolescents can predict competition for 46.3% (R2=0.463). Based on t-test as an additional analysis of the obtained results that there is a difference in competition betweenfavorite and non-favorite schools. Competition in non-favorite schools is higher (t=–2.752, p<0.01) than favorite ones. In addition, there is a difference of social competence between theschool in Gunungkidul and Yogyakarta. Social competence of students in Gunungkidul is higher than students in Yogyakarta (t=–2.083, p<0.05). Another result shows that competitionamong the students in favorite schools is lower than in non-favorites ones (t=–2.752, p<0.01). Especially for high school students, the result showed that high school students' socialcompetence in Gunungkidul is higher than in Yogyakarta (t=–3.966, p<0.05) and social competence of favorite high school students are lower than non-favorite high school students
Struktur Semantik Kata Emosi dalam Bahasa Indonesia
This study examined semantic structure of emotion terms in Indonesia. 45 kind of emotion terms as measured by adjective 10 paires in semantic differential. All emotion term is choosed based on familiarity derived from Indonesian Dictionary. We hypothesized that semantic stucture of emotion terms can be reduced into three dimensions, consistent with semantic differential scale factor by Osgood (evaluation, potency, activity). Based on 115 participant, our findings indicate that structure of emotion terms load in two dimensions by multidimensional analysis (evaluation, activity). For two dimensions loading, multidimen‐sional stress value can be reduced in 0,38. Lower stress value indicate that two dimensions loading for semantic structure of emotion word more appropriate than three dimension. Mapping of a series of emotion terms from a proximities matrix (similarities or dissimilarities) based on semantic structure produced nine cluster of emotion terms in Indonesia

Reliability test with Alpha Cronbach indicates both instruments were reliable(αCCS=0.930; αCRS=0.925). This study hypothesized that there is a correlation between community resilience and long-termed community coping post-earthquake. Pearson-ProductMoment Correlation Analysis was used to analyze the data. Result shows that there is a positive correlation between community resilience and long-termed community coping post-earthquake (r = 0.571, p < 0.05)
The Role of Inter Ethnic Marriage on Trustworthy and Caution

This study was aimed to analyze the correlation between adaptive coping and emotional intelligence (EI). The subject of this study (N=69) are high school students in SMU Negeri 8 Yogyakarta, whose age ranged from 15 to 17 years old. Adaptive coping is measured by adaptive coping scale, and EI is measured by EI scale. Researcher developed both scale. Data was analyzed using Pearson’s product moment correlation. Results show that there are: positive correlation between EI and problem focused coping (PFC) part I (r=0,302; p=0,006), negative correlation between EI and emotional focused coping (EFC) and confrontative coping (CC) part I (r=‐0,322; p=0,004), and negative correlation between EI and PFC and CC part II (r=‐0,366; p=0,001). Spearman’s test correlation used to analyze correlation between EI and EPC part II, because this correlation did not meet linearity assumption. Spearman’s test correlation show that there is no correlation between EI and EPC part II (p=0,337). Based on these minor hypothesis, it is concluded that generally there is correlation between EI and adaptive coping ability
Eksplorasi Karakteristik Item Skala Psikologis yang Rentan terhadap Tipuan Respon
This study investigates item characteristics in psychological scale that susceptible to faking response. We examine the difference scores of Self Description form between two conditions. In the first condition we instruct subject to complete the form honestly (honest condition). On the other hand, in the second condition we instruct subject complete the form to make they look as good as possible (faking condition). Result suggest that in the item attributes that susceptible to faking, the score on the faking condition was higher than honest condition because subject were enable to improve their scores. We found that item attributes that verifiable, continuous, actual, controllable, second‐third sources, and future oriented were persistent to faking response. However item attributes that non‐verifiable, dichotomous, perceptual, first hand source and recent oriented, were vulnerable to faking response

Evaluasi Terhadap Asumsi Teoritis Individualisme dan Kolektivisme: Sebuah Studi Meta Analisis
Since Hofstede (1980) published his research about individualism‐collectivism differences among countries, interest in crosscultural study increased dramatically. However not all studies support each other. So the purpose of this study is to evaluate primary studies that studied individualism‐collctivism differences. Articles selected from electronic database (e.g. Proquest, EBSCO, and ERIC) forpublication. Forty nine studies were found, but only 15 studies that were relevant. After final evaluation, only 3 studies with 7 data points that actually could be analized. This study found that there are differences between individualist and collectivist countriesin horizontal collectivism. People in collectivist countries are more collectivist than people in individualist countries. In vertical individualism, horizontal individualism, and vertical collectivism dimension, homogeneity coefficient (Q) shows that sample drawn from the same source differ systematically. However we cannot do moderator analysis because of number of studies are limited. Thus, this study can not explain moderator variables that influence effectc size variation
