     Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan jenis kemampuan administrasi/manajemen yang diperlukan eksekutif dan staf administratif lembaga pendidikan, dan mengungkap relevansi kurikulum AP dengan jenis kemampuan itu. Dari populasi para eksekutif di lembaga penyelenggara pendidikan dan satuan pendidikan di Jawa Timur, 135 orang sampel ditetapkan secara rambang purposif di SD-SMU, PTN dan PTS, Depdikbud, Dinas P dan K, dan Pusdiklat. Data dikumpulkan dengan angket dan dianalisis dengan statistik. Ditemukan bahwa kemampuan administrasi/manajemen pendidikan dinilai sangat diperlukan, dan kurikulum AP sangat relevan dengan kebutuhan nyata unit-unit kerja pendidikan di Jawa Timur

    This research studied sound and imagination aspects in Balada Orang-Orang Tercinta by Rendra and its learning implication for language program in high schools. The study used descriptive research design and data were analyzed using content analysis. The result showed that there were 566 sound aspects which included 37 aliteration, 55 assonantion, 211 ephony, 208 cacophony , 35 anaphor, and no onomatopoeiac aspect was found. Dealing with imagination aspects, there were 485 aspects with various frequency of appereance, which included 208 aspects related to sight, 82 to hearing, 43 to feeling, 17 to taste, 7 to smell, and 128 to physical movements. This finding showed the necessity to focus attention when learning how to analyze poems

    This descriptive qualitative study aims to describe the variety of Bimaese grammatical interference into written Indonesian and the factors affecting the interference. Thirty-two fifth graders were involved in this study. The data were collected throught questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The findings suggest that there are a number of similarities and differences between Bimaese and Indonesian forms and that there is a transfer in terms of language components, system, and principles. The factors affecting these refer to linguistics, involving morphology and syntax, and non-linguistics, such as socio-linguistics, learning conditions, and socio-cultural factors

    This study was designed to investigate the contribution of education level, frequency of participation in training, teaching experience, and attitudes toward teacher's profession to the elementary school teachers' competence in teaching Social Studies. The sample consisted of 160 elementary school teachers in Kedungkandang, Malang. Data were collected by using observation, questionnaire, and interview, and were analyzed statistically with multiple regression. This study revealed that the teachers' competence tended to be high. The contribution of teachers' participation in on-the-job training to the competence in teaching social studies was higher than the contribution of education level

    The Difference of Socialization Capability between Pupils Attending and Pupils Not Attending Extracurricular Activities. This study was designed to investigate the difference in socialization capability between pupils attending and pupils not attending extracurricular activities. There were 70 elementary school pupils selected randomly to be the sample, consisted of 35 pupils attending and 35 pupils not attending extracurricular activities. The data were collected by check lists and interviews, and were then analyzed statistically by t-test. The result revealed that the socialization capability of pupils attending extracurricular activities was better than those not attending extracurricular activities

    The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of energetic games on the movement skills of mentally-retarded students. Employing a quasi-experimental design, this study involved 10 mentally-retarded students belonging to seven-year mental age. The data were collected using behavior test measuring movement skills, which were then analyzed using Mann Whitney U-test. The findings suggest that such games had positive effects on the improvement of the movement skills

    This study is aimed at examining the effectiveness of using professionals in giving career information to increase the high school students' career maturity level. The study was an experimental in nature using 60 samples. In the experimental group the career information was delivered by professionals who were successful in their careers, while in the control group the information was given through the packet book (conventional technique).The sampling technique used was the multi-stage random. The instrument employed was the Career Maturity Scale. The data analysis was done using statistical t-test. The result indicates that the career information delivered by professionals is more effective than given through packet book
