    The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of management of teaching reform in the Islamic Elementary School(Madrasah Ibtidaiyah). This study focused on the process and model of reform management applied in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Jenderal Sudirman, Malang. A qualitative design was implemented in this study by using a phenomenological approach. Data were analyzed inductively with analysis of domain and taxonomy. It was found out that the teaching reform applied school-based management. The reform was concerning with personnel, infrastructure, school environment, and teaching-learning process. The process of the reform was managed through planning, implementation, evaluation, and institutionalization

    Perguruan Tinggi (PT) merupakan satuan pendidikan yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan tinggi. Dari penyelenggaraan pendidikan tinggi tersebut akan dapat dihasilkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) berkualitas tinggi, sebagaimana yang terumus dalam tujuan pendidikan nasional, yang mampu dan bertanggung jawab dalam membangun dirinya sendiri, bangsanya dan negaranya.     Predictability of the National Final Examination Score in Secondary Schools and intelligence quotient to Students' Achievement in Senior High Schools. The aim of this study was to determine the ability of the Ebtanas score (NEM) and intelligence quotient (IQ) to predict students achievement in Senior High Schools. The data were obtained from the existing documents of the public SMUs in Surakarta Municipality, and were then analyzed by regression technique. The result showed that the NEM could be used to predict students achievement in Senior High Schools, whereas the IQ couldnot. The NEM seemed to be considered as an entry behavior and prerequisite for higher learning. Therefore, it could be suggested that the selection of students should be based on the NEM obtained from the lower level of education rather than on students' IQ

    Primary School Children’s Progress in Indonesian Language: A Multilevel Analysis

    This study attempts to measure the child progress over a one-year period in Indonesian Language at the fourth grade of primary schools. The main problem was to what extent the school and pupil variances in language attainment were before and after taking into account the baseline, family background, classes, and school context. The multilevel analysis as a current promising analysis was used in modeling due to its better results in estimating the hierarchical characteristics of data. In addition to the school archives, the data were collected using questionnaires to 1668 children, 60 class-teachers, and 60 head-teachers. It was found that the significant predictors in estimating achievement progress were child gender and age, father’s educational background, teacher age, and the school meetings

    The Implementation of Dual System of Education by Civil Department of Secondary School of Technology at Construction Business. To Civil Department of Secondary School of Technology, the implementation of the dual system of education (PSG) is intended to utilize the business potentials in optimalizing the students’ potentials. This descriptive-evaluative study was designed to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PSG, and the obstacles in implementing the program. The subjects were 20 teacher-advisors, 30 instructors, and 60 students, who were randomly sampled from the population in East Java. The results of qualitative and quantitative data analysis showed that the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PSG were not satisfactory yet.      Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK) bertujuan menyiapkan mahasiswa sebagai calon guru dan tenaga kependidikan lainnya yang memiliki kemampuan pribadi, sosial dan profesional. Mahasiswa dipersiapkan sedini mungkin untuk memiliki kualifikasi calon guru yang profesional melalui praktik pengalaman lapangan (PPL) yang dilaksanakan secara terpadu dan terbimbing. Dalam PPL, mahasiswa dibimbing oleh guru pamong dan dosen pembimbing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan guru pamong sangat efektif, pelaksanaan PPL mahasiswa cukup baik, dan bimbingan dosen pembimbing juga sangat baik. Efektivitas bimbingan guru pamong dan dosen pembimbing ternyata dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengajar para mahasiswa

    The focus of this study is to describe the organization atmosphere of school institutions after an organization-development program adopting school-based management approach. This qualitative study involved three elementary schools, utilizing multi-site design and constant-comparative method. The data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation. The results of descriptive analyses show that the program offered positive effects on building up the institution culture. The headmasters played important roles in norm and value enforcement. The teachers became committed to the best achievement and sense of belonging. The spirit of togetherness thus developed well at the schools
