Quantum Ethics: Navigating the Intersection of Quantum Mechanics and Metaethics in the Digital Era for a Just and Equitable Society
The advancement of quantum technologies and their integration with digital systems has resulted in enormous changes in society, providing new opportunities for furthering subjects such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT), and quantum computing. The ethical ramifications of these technologies, however, have not been adequately investigated, raising worries about their possible harmful influence on society. This research examines the convergence of quantum physics, metaethics, and the digital era in order to determine the implications of these technologies and to offer ethical frameworks for maintaining a just and equitable society. It will analyse the obstacles faced by the employment of quantum technologies in the digital era, including concerns relating to privacy, security, and the possibility for biased decision-making, through a thorough analysis of relevant literature. It then investigates the possibilities of multidisciplinary approaches that combine quantum mechanics and metaethics principles to overcome these issues and construct ethical frameworks that emphasize human values. The report suggests that a comprehensive strategy that prioritizes ethical issues is critical for the development of quantum technologies in the digital era. This necessitates a coordinated effort among stakeholders from many sectors such as technology, ethics, policy, and governance. The article provides a complete ethical framework that incorporates quantum mechanics and metaethics principles to ensure that the advantages of new technologies are realized while limiting any negative consequences
Bridging Ethics and Education: Crafting Solutions to Address the Threads of Bullying in Indonesia
Bullying in educational settings has become a significant global issue, exacerbated by the rise of cyberbullying and juvenile delinquency, particularly in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach and literature review to investigate the impact of the curriculum on shaping ethical values and character among students. By focusing on ethical education, particularly the principles of individualism and collectivism, and incorporating deontological and virtue ethics, this research proposes a holistic strategy for addressing bullying. It argues that understanding and integrating these ethical dimensions into school curricula can foster a supportive environment that mitigates bullying and promotes moral development. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of moral philosophy in healing the trauma caused by bullying. It advocates applying ethical principles such as justice, compassion, and empathy to support affected students, helping them overcome trauma and build resilience. The study advocates for applying moral philosophies to help students navigate complex social dynamics, thereby enhancing their emotional well-being and contributing to a more empathetic and just educational environment
The Concept of Religious Experience by Rudolf Otto: A Phenomenological Approach
This study investigates and analyzes the religious experiences of Rudolf Otto using a phenomenological approach. The main objective of this study is to explore Otto's interpretation of religious experience and his contribution to the field of phenomenology. The research problem focuses on understanding how Otto's concept provides a framework for examining religious experiences that go beyond ordinary or everyday experience. The study uses a literature review, document analysis, and phenomenological analysis of Otto's works, including his important text, Das Heilige (The Idea of the Holy), and his personal documents, such as letters, journals, and notes. The study reveals that Otto's concept of the "Almighty" refers to a divine presence that transcends logical understanding and evokes deep emotional and intuitive responses. These findings demonstrate the importance of Otto's contribution to the phenomenology of religion, both theoretically and methodologically. Otto's insights have provided important insights for examining the complexity and richness of religious experiences in the modern world
The Role of the Concept of Agape in Improving Aristotle’s Ethics
This research attempted to solve a fundamental philosophical problem in Aristotle's ethics, which was considered insufficient to provide an explanation of what principles must be obeyed by agents of virtue to determine morally right actions. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze the role of the concept agape in improving Aristotle’s ethics, and its relevance to well-being. This research method was literature-based qualitative research. The research type applied was descriptive of the expert’s thoughts. The agape concept in this study was independent of metaphysical and theological orientations. The concept of agape in this discussion did not refer to God but was directed to the realm of virtue. The high moral value on which agape is based is rationality. Morally right action is an action that emanates from virtue, which is shaped by the purpose of love and wisely carried out in a relational context using practical reason involving situational and consequence considerations. The essential role of agape in virtue is as a constituent of well-being. What one brings to life becomes one’s own life, in line with Aristotle's classical notion that virtue contributes to eudaimonia
Assimilation of Tung Chung Shu’s Philosophy and the Development of Multiculturalism
The purpose of this article is to explore the thoughts of the philosopher Tung Chung Shu who is a figure in Chinese philosophy. Tung Chung Shu managed to compile several aspects of philosophy and culture that developed in China during the Han dynasty. Tung Chung Shu's thought has relevance to the development of multiculturalism, especially in Indonesia amid globalization today. The condition of the Chinese nation has a different cultural background and has succeeded in reformulating the unifying ideology of the country so that it can improve the condition of a society that is experiencing chaos. The philosophy and culture of the Chinese nation that developed when in this condition was the Han Dynasty which was dominated by Taoism, Legalism, and Confucianism. A Chinese philosopher, Tung Chung Shu, combined the three schools with the core teachings of jen, yi, l, chi, and hsin with the main goal of realizing a happy, prosperous, and safe society. The situation of differences that exist in people's lives gave birth to multiculturalism which offers a cultural paradigm to understand and interpret the differences that develop in people's lives. This research uses the abstraction analysis method and then analyzes it through a comparative interpretative approach that begins with description and historical continuity. The results showed that (1) the condition of differences in society can be avoided from conflict if the government can implement multiculturalism policies in regulating the order of government as in Tung Chung Shu's thinking about good governance (2) the condition of a country depends on the attitude of the country's leaders so that the condition of multicultural society can be safe, harmonious, peaceful, prosperous cannot be separated from the role of state leaders (3) in addressing differences need the attitude of wisdom, humanity, courage, wisdom and virtue as the philosophical thought of Tung Chung Shu. In line with the conditions of the multicultural Indonesian nation, Tung Chung Shu's thoughts can be a reference in efforts to develop multiculturalism in Indonesia. This argument is supported by the situation and conditions of the Indonesian nation which has a diversity of ethnicities, cultures, religions, regions, and different cultural traditions
Iqbal Humanism and Human Rights
Contrasting religion with human rights is a critical response that is unproductive because basically the relationship between religion and human rights is ambivalent. Meanwhile, freedom of religion is understood as part of human rights, but in reality, religious practices emerge which result in violations of human rights. This research wants to answer the question of how to bridge the relationship between religion and human rights by taking the case of Iqbal's concept of humanism, "How does Iqbal's humanism reconcile religion and human rights?" This study uses the hermeneutic-philosophical method by applying the following methodical steps: interpretation, analysis-synthesis, internal coherence, description, and heuristics. The results of the research show that Iqbal's humanism as a framing that reconciles religion and human rights based on a reciprocal relationship between religion and humanity. Tauhid as a working idea and the main spiritual basis for building a civilization with a human perspective contains values that are in accordance with the principles of human rights. The development of a new civilization with human insight must be pursued intellectually and vitally. Religion is a mode of human development as long as it is not accepted dogmatically. Therefore, Iqbal's humanism has a very strong relevance in efforts to uphold the principles of human rights in people's lives.
Philosophy of Emancipatory Education through the Masters of Suspicion
This paper will answer what the masters of suspicion say about the construction of today’s relevant philosophy of education. This paper is a qualitative research intended to construct meaning through a literature search on selected reading sources. The hermeneutic perspective used in this paper means an attempt to put the text, namely the thoughts of these masters of suspicion, in the present context to construct a meaning for the relevant philosophy of education. Three masters of suspicion, i.e. Marx, Freud, and Nietzsche, spoke respectively of a critical task in the realm of human action. Marx suspected that economic motives are often not to support life but to suppress it instead. Nietzsche suspected that religion only produced decadent and timid humans so they never became their true selves, hypocrite, and like to scare others. Freud was suspicious of human subconscious motivation so it must be seriously criticized in order to bring out an action that is truly born of compassionate political and social morality. These three masters present important education values to be developed today, namely education for social change, empowerment, and building compassionate social and political morality
Dimension and Characteristic of Pragmatic Contextualism In Chinese Philosophy From Perspective of Confucianist and Daoist
“Science denialism”, which counters “science” with “science” to direct a “selected knowledge” has caused a “gap of truth” as in hoax that led to doubts of knowledge, which is a phenomenon of skepticism in the digital era. “Cartesian” verification of knowledge is limited because an algorithm-psychological-based “tool” can direct and utilize scientific data/values to support/negate knowledge for particular purpose regardless of objective truth. Thus, differentiation between truth and false needs to acknowledge the “qualitative reasoning”, as in pragmatic contextualism: a context-sensitive approach, exercised on local values-based actions as communication acts of “truth” and “false”. Pragmatic contextualism is practiced in Chinese philosophy, composed by “yin” and “yang” duality characteristics based on Confucius and Dao philosophy, which permeates into varied dimensions. Therefore, the paper aims to identify the characteristic and dimensions of pragmatic contextualism in Chinese philosophy from Confucianist and Daoist as an attempt to discover an alternative “verification” of “truth” on local values-based acts. The literature study from lectures, books, and articles (journals, news) is conducted to identify the characteristics and dimensions of pragmatic contextualism. The study founds the characteristics of pragmatic contextualism are personalization, relativity, holistic, multiscale, relationality, inter-spatiality, adaptivity, and plurality. Further, these characteristics are expressed in social, education, politic, spiritual, environment, aesthetics, and temporal dimension
