    AbstractThe purpose of this research was to develop and described the validity ofPhysics Module Based on Local Potential “Batik Lumbung and Tahu Tamanan†forHigh School Students Tamanan Bondowoso Subdistrict (Material of Temperature andHeat) and described students response toward the module. The design of this researchwas 4D development. The descriptive percentage was used to analyze the modulevalidity. The average of the module from the expert based on didactic, constructionand technical aspect was 94.34%. It was categorized as Very Valid or usable withoutRevision. The average of the module from the user based on format and languageaspect was 93.75%. It was categorized as Very Valid or usable without Revision. Thevalidity of the audience for cognitive aspect was 74.5% and 73.61% for psychomotoraspect. The module was Quite Valid or Usable but Needs to be Revised Small. Basedon the affective aspect, it was categorized as Very Valid or usable without Revisionwith the average score 89.65%. The utilization of the Physics module in learning gotthe positive response from the students with 91.05% in percentage. Physics modulebased on local potential was good and appropriate as the alternative for learningmaterial.Keyword: local potential, module, response, validit

    AbstractThe purpose of this research were to examine the effect of contextual learningmodel of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT)with Virtual Simulation to critical thinking ability and student learning activity inSenior High School. The type of this research was experimental research using posttest only control group design. Population in this research was the tenth gradestudents of SMAN 2 Jember. The data were collected by observation, documentation,interview and test. The data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test withSPSS 24. The results showed that the average value of critical thinking ability ofexperimental class was 81,15 and control class was 69,91. In result of activity valueof experiment class was 86,943 and control class was 79,934. This study can beconcluded REACT learning model with virtual simulation have an effect onsignificance to critical thinking ability and student activity in physics learning insenior high school.Keywords: Contextual learning model of REACT, virtual simulation, criticalthinking, student learning activit

    ANALISIS PENGUASAAN KONSEP-KONSEP TEORI KINETIK GAS MENGGUNAKAN TAKSONOMI BLOOM BERBASIS HOTS PADA SISWA KELAS XI IPA DI MAN JEMBER

    This research aimed to describe the mastery of gas kinetic theory concepts using the HOTS-based Bloom’s taxonomy on the eleventh grade students at MAN Jember. The type of research used descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. The subject were the students of the eleventh grade. There are 33 students at MAN A Jember, 25 students at MAN B Jember, and 37 students at MAN C Jember. The data collection method is obtained through written tests, documentation, and interviews. The instrumen used a description test question consisting of 8 items based on Bloom’s taxonomic indicators based on HOTS, namely analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6) on the kinetic theory of gas material that had been studied before the test was admistered data is obtaimed from students answer scores in answering diagnostic test question. Based on the result of the research, the level of mastery of the concept of MAN A Jember students is sufficient with a percentange of 42%, students of MAN B Jember by 30% with a low category, and student of MAN C Jember with a percentange of 41% categorized sufficient. Based on the percentange of each school, the average mastery of concepts in MAN Jember was 38% with a low category.Key word: mastery of concepts, gas kinetic theory, and Bloom’s taxonomy

    This research to describe the ability of students in solving National Examination Physics Senior High School problems on Magnetic Field based on Polya steps. The sample of this research using purposive sampling based on permission from school. Schools were use as research that were school A and B in Jember District by choosing one class XII to be the subject of research. The collected technique in this research used the test in the form of description, interview, and documentation. The percentage of students’s ability in solving the problem was known from the completion of the students in solving the problem on the problem solved sheet which has been based on Polya stage. The average percentage of students’s ability in solving the problem of National Examination Physics High School on Magnetic Field based on Polya stages in SMAN A, there were step of understanded the problem of 76.67%, the step of devised a plan of 22.93%, the step of carried out the plan of 53.73 %, and looked back step of 7.07%. While the average percentage of students's ability in solving the problem of National Examination Physics High School on Magnetic Field based on Polya stages in SMAN B, there were step understanded of the problem of 70.34%, the step of devised a plan of 32.00%, the step of carried out the plan of 84, 55%, and looked back step of 6.21%.Key word: Polya steps, National Examination problems, Magnetic Field, ability of students in solving problem

    IDENTIFIKASI PEMAHAMAN KONSEP FLUIDA DINAMIS MENGGUNAKAN FOUR TIER TEST PADA SISWA SMA

    Understanding concepts was the most important thing in learning. The purpose of learning closely related to the cognitive domain. There were still many students didn’t know about physics concept. So, we need to identify understanding of concept physics. One way to identify an understanding of physics concept was using diagnostic test, there was Four Tier Test. Four tier test was a four level multiple choice test that was developed from diagnostic tests of three level multiple choice. This identification can be used by teachers in determining strategies, models, methods, and techniques to improve students' conceptual understanding. The research method was descriptive research. The subjects of this research were done in second grade high school students of Jember Distric. Data collection techniques used in this research was test, and the instrument was four level multiple choice. The result of the research showed that the understanding of the dynamic fluid concept in high school is 22.86%, and then which 29.21% are included category misconception, 7.09% are included in the category of not understanding concept, 34.92% are included in the category partial understand, and 5.93% are include in the category can not be encoded, it is mean students didn’t complete the answer on each level.Key word: Physics, Fluid Dynamics, Understanding concepts, Four Tier Tes

    Creative Problem Solving is a learning model which gives the opportunity to students constructing concepts, discussing materials, issuing opinions, and developing creativity in learning group. The purpose of this research was understand the improvement of concepts comprehension and scientific creativity skill of students on Elasticity and Hooke's law. This research was included in descriptive. This research was carried out based on the school availability as a place of research,. Research respondent in this case is Man 1 JEMBER in Science Class. Furthermore, sampling technique in this study was based on purposive sampling area. Collecting data method used pre-test and post-test. In this research, the instrument was essay test, consisted of nine item of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity. The data analysis method of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity used Normalized Gain (Ng). Based on this study, the concept comprehension of students significantly increased to 0,71 (high) while the scientific creativity skill increased to 0.4 (medium).Keyword: CPS, Concept Comprehension, Scientific Creativity Skil

    ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MEMECAHKAN MASALAH FISIKA BERDASARKAN POLYA PADA POKOK BAHASAN FLUIDA STATIS DI SMAN JEMBER

    This research was analyzed the mistake of high school student in solving physics problem on matter of static fluid based on Polya, therefore this research was included in descriptive research. The purpose of this research was describe the level of student’s mistake in solving problems on matter of static fluid based on Polya and its causes. Respondents in this research were 98 students from SMAN A, SMAN B, and SMAN C, each taken one class from each school. The instrument used in this research was a test question that consists of 5 questions and interviews. The results of the research from the three schools indicated that students often make mistakes in completing the plan, then the second most common mistake was a mistakes in checking again, while the third mistake was a mistakes in making the plan, and the mistake that the students rarely made mistakes in understanding question.Key word: Analyzed of Mistake, Problem Solving based on Polya, Static Flui

    AbstractThe purpose of this research was to examine the effect of the model ofproject based learning by utilizing used materials to the students' learning outcomes,to examine the influence of the model of the project based learning by utilizing theused materials on the interest of learning and to describe the creativity of the studentsin the model of project based learning by utilizing the used materials. The type ofresearch was experiment using posttest-only control group design. The independentvariables in this research was the model of project based learning by utilizing theused materials, the dependent variable in this study is the learning, learning interest,and the students creativity.     Viscosity was the friction that occurs between layers in the fluid. There were several factors that affect the viscosity value of a fluid, one of them was temperature. But the effect of temperature on viscosity was still rarely discussed in the learning. This research aim to examine the effect of temperature on the cooking oil viscosity and made the design of physics practical work guideline based on the results of research. The fluid used in this research was oil palm packing oil consisting of Bimoli, Filma and Kunci Mas. In this research, the effect of temperature on the cooking oil viscosity was using the Stokes law. The result of the research was used as the basis for teaching material physics practical work guideline. Based on the results of the research showed that the viscosity of cooking oil decreased with increasing temperature. This was indicated by the declining mass of cooking oil. The design of physics practical work guideline of temperature effect on viscosity consists of several parts, the title, purpose, tools and materials, theoretical basis on the effect of temperature on viscosity, step experiment, experiment result tabel, and question.Key word: viscosity, temperature, cooking oil, teaching material

    ANALISIS JENIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL FISIKA MATERI LISTRIK STATIS DI MAN 6 JOMBANG

    AbstractThis research described students error and identify the cause of the students make mistakes in solving physics problems on static electrocity. Subjects in this study were 85 students of tweleveth grade on Islamic Senior High School 6 Jombang at 2017/2018 academic period. Interviews are conducted to eight students who became a representative of each error to determine the causes of students error. The results of students error identification on the subjects, among others; translation error amounted to 42,88% which indicates that percentage of translation error include medium error category, concept error amounted to 54,51% which indicates that percentage of concept error include medium error category, strategy error amounted to 15,88% which indicates that percentage of strategy error include low error category, and arithmetic error amounted to 1,76% which indicates that percentage of arithmetic error include very low error category. The cause of the error is identified, among others; students are not accustomed to write things that are known and asked questions, students do not know the purpose of the problem, students are accustomed to answer the question of physics without converting to SI units, students do not know the formula to be used, students are a hurry to do the work, and students are not careful when answered the questions.Key Words: arithmetic error, concept error, strategy error, translation error, static electrocit
