    Politeness Principles on Talk Show Najwa's Notes "Exclusive: Ma'ruf Amin about Forgotten Vice President"

    The aim of this study are to describe the implicature of illocutionary speech acts on the Najwa Shihab Talk Show, analyze the compliance with politeness principles on the Najwa Shihab talk show, and analyze the violation of politeness principles on the Najwa Shihab talk show. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data source was obtained from Najwa Shihab's Youtube video on the talk show Najwa's notes "Exclusive: Ma'ruf Amin about the Forgotten Vice President" and Mata Najwa's Talk Show "Don't Wait Your Turn" in the form of conversation transcripts. Collecting data using the method of listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this study are as follows, first the implicature of illocutionary speech acts, including assertive, directive, expressive, and commissive. Second, obeying the principle of politeness. Thirdly violating the principle of politeness. The politeness principle includes the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of praise, the maxim of humility, and the maxim of sympathy.   Keywords: illocutionary speech acts, speech, compliance with politeness principles   Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan implikatur tindak tutur ilokusi pada Talk Show Najwa Shihab, analisis pematuhan prinsip kesantunan pada Talk Show Najwa Shihab, dan analisis pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan pada Talk Show Najwa Shihab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data diperoleh dari video Youtube Najwa Shihab acara talk show Catatan Najwa “Eksklusif: Ma’ruf Amin soal Wapres yang Terlupakan” dan Talk Show Mata Najwa “Jangan Tunggu Giliran” berupa transkripsi percakapan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak dan teknik simak catat.  Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut, pertama implikatur tindak tutur ilokusi, meliputi asertif, direktif, ekspresif, dan komisif. Kedua, pematuhan prinsip kesantunan. Ketiga, pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan. Prinsip kesantunan meliputi maksim kearifan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim pujian, maksim kerendahan hati, dan maksim kesimpatian.   Kata kunci: tindak tutur ilokusi, tuturan, pematuhan prinsip kesantuna

    Illocutionary Speech Acts Analysis in Nadhira Afifa's Speech as A Student Speaker at Harvard Graduation 2020

    The present study aims to find out the types of illocutionary act in Nadhira Afifa’s speech as a student’s speaker as Master of Public Health in Harvard Graduation 2020. The types of illocutionary which was promoted by Yule (1996) focused in this study. The study used qualitative descriptive by analyzing Nadhira’s speech as the main data.  Furthermore, the sources of the data in this study was collected by downloading the video of speech from YouTube. Then, the data are analyzed and transcribed into the written form. Furthermore, the data were grouped into five types of illocutionary speech acts. The finding revealed that there are four typed of illocutionary speech acts which are used in Nadhira's speech. They were representative, expressive, directive and commissive. In this term, one of illocutionary acts type which is declarative did not find in the speech.  Apparently, the preferable type of illocutionary speech act was representative. In this term, Nadhira delivered the information related to the importance of being part of public health during this day that she concerned about. Meanwhile, the percentage revealed the most and the least used of types of illocutionary speech acts by Nadhira's speech. They were representative (56.4%), expressive (30.7%), directive (5.1%), commissive (7.7%) and declarative (0%). It means that representative and expressive are being preferable. It is occurred because the context and the speaker who has the speech is a student’s speaker in graduation day.   Keywords: illocutionary acts, speech act, speech, analysis     Abstrak   Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis ilokusi dalam Pidato Nadhira Afifa sebagai pembicara mahasiswa Magister Kesehatan Masyarakat di Harvard Graduation 2020. Jenis Jenis ilokusi yang dipromosikan oleh Yule (1996) difokuskan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pidato Nadhira sebagai data utama. Selanjutnya sumber data dalam penelitian ini diunduh dari YouTube. Data tersebut dianalisa, ditranskripsikan ke dalam bentuk tertulis dan dikelompokkan menjadi lima jenis tidan tutur ilokusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat jenis tindak ilokusi yang digunakan dalam pidato Nadhira yaitu representatif, ekspresif, direktif dan komisif. Dalam hal ini, deklaratif tidak ditemukan dalam pidato tersebut. Representatif menjadi tindak tutur yang lebih disukai dalam pidato ini. Nadhira menyampaikan informasi terkait pentingnya menjadi bagian dari kesehatan masyarakat. Sementara itu, persentasi dalam tindak ilokusi ditunjukkan dengan representatif (56,4%), ekspresif (30,7%), direktif (5,1 %), komisif (7,7%) dan deklaratif (0%). Ini artinya representatif dan espresif lebih disukai.     Study of Literature Appreciation Skills Assessment Instruments on Objective Types of Prose and Drama

    The assessment is based on the measuring instrument used to determine the quantity of learning that is numerical in nature. This study aims to describe how the planning, implementation, and assessment of learning carried out by teachers in learning to write drama texts. In the world of education, measurement consists of two kinds, namely test and non-test. The form of the test can be categorized into two types, namely objective tests and non-objective tests. This study uses an objective type of assessment, namely multiple choice questions. If we look back, there are still many question instruments that are not adapted to the rules of making question instruments so that it affects the lack of quality of the instrument questions that have been made. The fact that is happening today often happens in schools, especially in learning literary appreciation. Therefore, this study aims to reconstruct questions that are not in accordance with the criteria for making question instruments. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with data in the form of learning stages carried out by one of the class teachers. The collection techniques used in this research are observation, documentation (video), and interviews. The instrument used is a human instrument as the main instrument and a guide to analysis of planning, implementation, and assessment of learning as well as an interview guide as a supporting instrument.   Keywords: assessment, instrument, appreciation, literature   Abstrak Penilaian didasarkan atas alat ukur yang digunakan untuk menentukan kuantitas pembelajaran yang sifatnya numerik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran menulis teks drama. Dalam dunia pendidikan, pengukuran terdiri atas dua macam, yakni tes dan nontes. Bentuk tes dapat dikategorikan ke dalam dua jenis, yaitu tes objektif dan tes non-objektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan penilaian jenis objektik yaitu soal pilihan ganda. Jika ditilik kembali, masih banyak ditemukan instrumen soal yang tidak disesuaikan dengan kaidah pembuatan instrumen soal sehingga, berpengaruh pada minimnya kualitas instrumen soal yang telah dibuat. Kenyataan itulah yang saat ini kerap terjadi di sekolah, khususnya pada pembelajaran apresiasi sastra. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi soal yang belum sesuai dengan kriteria-kriteria pembuatan instrumen soal. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan data berupa tahapan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh salah satu guru kelas. Teknik pengumpulan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, dokumentasi (video), dan wawancara.     Modality Epistemic Adverb in “Mata Najwa” Episode of “PSBB Rasa Kompromi”

    Media is a means of information that conveys a message about a problem that is being experienced. Mass media includes newspapers, magazines, radio, television, blogs on the internet, and others. On television, there are many versions of information delivery, one of which is talk shows. In a talkshow, there is the attitude of the speaker when discussing his opinion through the use of words, phrases and clauses that can be analyzed. The analysis in this study focuses on Epistemic Modality in a talkshow of Mata Najwa on Trans7. The thesis with the title Epistemic Modality in Najwa's Eye Impressions Episode "PSBB Rasa Kompromi" aims to describe four types of epistemic modality found in Mata Najwa's shows. Researchers used the Alwi Epistemic Modality theory to analyze the data found on the object of study. The approach to this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach or method. The data used in this study are in the form of vocabulary in sentences that have elements of the Epistemic Modality. The data source was obtained from Mata Najwa's broadcast of the PSBB Rasa Kompromi episode on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Then the data collection came from the video in the form of a typed interview transcript. The data analysis technique used was identification, grouping each type of epistemic modality, processing, then concluding. The results showed that the four types of epistemic modalities were found based on appropriate methods and techniques on the object of the Mata Najwa talkshow including possibility, practice, necessity, and certainty.   Keywords: epistemic modality, PSBB, talkshow, Mata Najwa     Abstrak   Media merupakan sarana informasi yang menyampaikan sebuah pesan mengenai suatu masalah yang sedang dialami. Media massa meliputi koran, majalah, radio, televisi,  blog di internet, dan lain-lain. Di televisi sendiri banyak versi dalam penyampaian informasi, salah satunya talkshow. Dalam sebuah talkshow, terdapat sikap pembicara saat  berdiskusi dalam menyampaikan pendapatnya melalui pemakaian kata, frasa, dan klausa yang bisa dianalisis. Analisis pada penelitian ini berfokus pada modalitas epistemik dalam “Mata Najwa” di Trans7. Penelitian dengan judul “Modalitas Epistemik pada Tayangan Mata Najwa Episode “PSBB  Rasa Kompromi” memiliki tujuan mendeskripsikan empat jenis modalitas epistemik yang ditemukan pada tayangan tersebut. Peneliti menggunakan teori modalitas epistemik Alwi untuk melakukan analisis data yang ditemukan pada objek kajian tersebut. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan atau metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kosakata dalam kalimat yang memiliki unsur modalitas epistemik. Sumber data diperoleh dari tayangan “Mata Najwa” episode “PSBB Rasa Kompromi” yang ditayangkan pada hari Rabu, 16 September 2020. Pengumpulan data berupa transkrip tayangan. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan yaitu mengidentifikasi, mengelompokkan setiap jenis modalitas epistemik, mengolah, kemudian menyimpulkan.     Online Learning from Home with Cisco Webex

    This article aims to evaluate the use of online learning application named Cisco Webex. Cisco Webex allows users to meet online, collaborate, and share content. Cisco Webex provides a breakthrough in disseminating home learning using Webex meetings. The home learning approach can certainly cause students to miss the opportunity to understand the subject matter more deeply the subject matter and not all parents have the ability to provide understanding for their children. To overcome this problem, schools utilizesmany online learning methods and one of it is Cisco Webex application which is intended to facilitate the students to learn at home during this pandemic outbreak.   Keyword: learning from home, online learning, Cisco Webex     Abstrak   Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan rumah belajar secara daring dengan Cisco Webex sebagai pembelajaran daring Cisco Webex memungkinkan pengguna untuk bertemu secara daring, berkolaborasi dan berbagi konten. Cisco Webex memberikan terobosan di dalam menyebarluaskan Rumah Belajar dengan menggunakan Webex Meetings.     Development of Debate Text Learning Material with Simulation Method for X Grade Senior High School Students

    This study aimed to obtain the information about the availability of debate text learning material in school. This research was held in January to June 2020. The main focus in this study was the development of debate text learning material with simulation method  for tenth grader of senior high school. The ADDIE model was used as an approach in this research and development (R&D) design. By using debate text learning material with simulation method makes students be able to achieve learning objectives well. Small trial implementation was done on nine X grader of SMK Negeri 40 Jakarta by using the Zoom Meeting and Google Classroom. The result of statistical analysis calculation showed the highest prates score is 70 and the lowest score is 35, while the highest postes score is 95 and the lowest score is 80. Based on the assessment and discussion result by material expert validator and practitioner validator, it was concluded that the debate text material learning material with simulation method for tenth grader of senior high school were proper to be used in the learning process and stimulate students’ skills effectively.   Keywords: learning material, debate text, simulation method     Abstrak   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang ketersediaan materi atau bahan ajar teks debat di sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari hingga bulan Juni 2020. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pengembangan materi ajar teks debat dengan metode simulasi untuk siswa kelas X SMA/SMK. Penggunaan materi ajar teks debat dengan metode simulasi ini bertujuan untuk membantu siswa mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dengan baik. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan R&D (Research & Development) dengan model ADDIE. Pelaksanaan uji coba terbatas dilakukan pada sembilan orang siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 40 Jakarta melalui aplikasi Zoom Meeting dan Google Classroom. Hasil perhitungan analisis statistik menunjukkan nilai prates tertinggi adalah 70 dan nilai terendah adalah 35, sedangkan nilai postes tertinggi adalah 95 dan nilai terendahnya adalah 80. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dan diskusi dengan validator ahli materi dan validator praktisi, disimpulkan bahwa produk Pengembangan Materi Ajar Teks Debat dengan Metode Simulasi Siswa Kelas X SMA/SMK layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dan efektif untuk mengasah keterampilan siswa.   Kata Kunci: materi ajar, teks debat, metode simulas

    The Effect of Roundconsen (Roundtable-Concept Sentence) Learning Model on The Ability to Write Explanatory Texts for Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta

      This study aims to find out the effect of the Roundconsen (Roundtable-Concept Sentence) learning model on the ability to write explanatory texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. The study was conducted in the 2019/2020 school year, the second semester in May in class VIII E. The research method used in this study was an experimental method with a pre-experimental one group. pretest-posttest design with a sample of 27 students. The prerequisite test for data analysis was performed with the Liellifors test, obtained Lo = 0.0974 <Lt = 0.1665 at the pretest with a significance level α = 0.05 and Lo = 0.0806 <Lt = 0.1665 at the posttest the significance level α = 0,05, then the data are normally distributed. Homogeneity test results obtained by fisher test,  = 1,08 and  = 4.23, obtained that  < , this shows that the data used are homogeneous at the significance level α = 0.05. The results showed that there was an increase in the average value at the time before and after being given treatment, at the time of the pretest, the average value obtained was 47.96. Then at the posttest, the average value obtained was 83.03. Based on the results of calculating the hypothesis using the t-test,  = 13.39 is greater than = 2.29 in the real level (α = 0.05). This indicates that there is an influence of the use of the roundtable concept concept on the ability to write explanatory texts in eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. This roundconsen learning model can also be used in learning to write exposition text.     The Economics of Literature Study of Bidadari Bermata Bening Novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy

    This study aims to find the economic values contained in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that uses primary and secondary data sources. This study uses content analysis techniques by describing the contents of literary texts in novels and then relating them to economic theories. The results of the study found that there are many economic values contained in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening, including: consumption, distribution, marketing, investment, production, and management. Consumption that occurs when the character buys tuna with a price difference that is not far from the market price. The distribution value is reflected in the giving of a certain amount of money for library books. Marketing is described when a merchant offers his product as an alternative to other products. Investments in novels are in the form of financing for children to study abroad. The production value is shown in figures who work in textile factories and in the operation of a service agency for the distribution of labor abroad. Management practices exist in collaboration between pesantren and local residents to provide lodging for student guardians

    Politeness of Speech Between Characters in Novel Hujan by Tere Liye: A Pragmatic Study

    In expressing an utterance, a person performs a speech act. In performing speech acts, the use of polite language needs to be considered. Not infrequently we feel that we have been speaking properly and correctly, but without realizing it we don't know whether our language is polite or not. To find out this, we can look at using pragmatics. Language politeness, namely through the principle of politeness in language. This principle has several maxims, namely the tact maxim, the generosity maxim, the approbation maxim, the modesty maxim, the agreement maxim, and the sympathy maxim. Therefore, researchers are interested in deepening pragmatic studies, especially language politeness, namely in utterances uttered in a novel. In this study, the method used to analyze the data that researchers have obtained uses a qualitative approach. The data source used for this research is novel entitled Hujan by Tere Liye, while the data type of this research is written data, in the form of story quotes and character dialogues in the novel which contain language unity in the novel. In this study, researchers used data collection techniques in the form of note-taking techniques. The research results in the novel Hujan by Tere Liye found data as many as 39 stories. Dalam melakukan tindak tutur, pemakaian bahasa yang santun sangat perlu diperhatikan. Tidak jarang kita merasa sudah melakukan kegiatan bertutur dengan baik dan benar. Namun tanpa disadari, kita tidak mengetahui, cara berbahasa sudah santun atau tidak. Untuk mengetahui hal ini, dapat dilihat dengan menggunakan ilmu pragmatik. Untuk mengetahui kesantunan berbahasa seseorang yakni melalui prinsip kesantunan berbahasa. Prinsip ini memiliki beberapa maksim, yaitu maksim kebijaksanaan (tact maxim), maksim kemurahan (generosity maxim), maksim penerimaan (approbation maxim), maksim kerendahan hati (modesty maxim), maksim kecocokan (agreement maxim), dan maksim kesimpatian (sympathy maxim). Karena itu, peneliti tertarik mendalami kajian pragmatik khususnya kesantunan berbahasa yakni dalam tuturan yang diujarkan dalam sebuah novel. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang peneliti peroleh menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah novel berjudul Hujan karya Tere Liye, sedangkan jenis data penelitian ini adalah data tulisan berupa kutipan cerita dan dialog tokoh dalam novel yang mengandung kesatuan berbahasa di dalam novel.     Case Studies Against Speech on Tone of Voice

    This study aims to get an overview and uncover data on how subjects talk to others. Knowing the factors that cause the onset of speech in the subject. Describe the behavior of the subject when acting speech and apply healing efforts to the case. Interference or interference with speech is as follows. 1) Internal interfering, i.e. communication interruptions derived from the conveyer and the recipient of the message. 2) External interference, i.e. communication interruptions that arise from the environment or outside the recipient of the message. 3) Semantic interference, i.e. communication interruptions arising from conveyors and recipients of member messages of different meanings to the verbal or nonverbal symbols used.  Another opinion about speech disorders delivered by Nurjamal et al (2011:29) is speech tone disorder. The audience or listener is the most critical person in addressing the speaker. They will memorize exactly which speech tones vary where the tone of speech is monotonous. Not to mention, if the volume is small, while the room is large, it is perfect that the listener will feel disappointment. We, as speakers, should understand this well. We, as speakers, should understand this well. Whenever possible the tone of speech should not be the same as the tone people read, or as if talking to themselves. Volume and intonation or tone of speech should be clearly audible and varied. The data collection techniques in this study are observations and interviews. Interviews are conducted in an open and closed form. Observations that researchers record events in situations related to propositional knowledge as well as knowledge directly obtained from the data. The result of the diagnosis made by the researchers on this case is to conduct observations and interviews in a chain. Based on the remedial results there is a change although not yet a maximum of 100 percent, namely speaking in a low tone of voice. It seems that healing this problem takes a long time. Because all this can n’t be healed immediately maximum, but requires stages. Keyword: speech delay disorder, speaking skills                                                              Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran dan mengungkap data tentang cara subjek bertutur dengan orang lain. Mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab timbulnya tindak tutur nada bicara pada subjek. Mendeskripsikan perilaku subjek ketika bertindak tutur dan menerapkan upaya penyembuhan pada kasus tersebut. Gangguan atau interferensi berbicara adalah sebagai berikut. 1) Intervensi internal, yaitu gangguan komunikasi yang berasal dari diri penyampai dan penerima pesan. 2) Interferensi eksternal, yaitu gangguan komunikasi yang muncul dari lingkungan atau di luar diri penerima pesan. 3) Interferensi semantik, yaitu gangguan komunikasi yang timbul karena penyampai dan penerima pesan memberi arti yang berbeda terhadap simbol verbal atau nonverbal yang digunakan.  Pendapat lain tentang gangguan berbicara yang disampaikan oleh Nurjamal (2011:29) adalah gangguan nada bicara. Audien atau pendengar adalah orang yang paling kritis dalam menyikapi pembicara. Mereka akan hafal betul mana nada bicara yang variatif mana nada bicara yang monoton. Belum lagi, kalau volume suara kecil, sementara ruangan besar, sudah sempurnalah pendengar akan merasakan kekecewaan. Hendaknya, kita sebagai pembicara, memahami hal ini dengan baik. Sedapat mungkin nada bicara jangan sama dengan nada orang membaca, atau seolah berbicara dengan diri sendiri. Volume dan intonasi atau nada bicara harus jelas terdengar dan variatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan dalam bentuk terbuka dan tertutup. Pengamatan yaitu peneliti mencatat peristiwa dalam situasi yang berkaitan dengan pengetahuan proporsional maupun pengetahuan yang langsung diperoleh dari data. Hasil diagnosis yang dilakukan peneliti terhadap kasus ini adalah dengan melakukan pengamatan dan wawancara secara berantai. Berdasarkan hasil remedial tersebut terdapat perubahan walaupun belum maksimal 100 persen, yakni berbicara dengan nada suara rendah. Nampaknya penyembuhan terhadap masalah ini membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Karena semua ini tidak bisa langsung sembuh maksimal, tetapi membutuhkan tahapan-tahapan.
