Competency Characteristics of Graduates Viewed from User Satisfaction Using Nonhierarchical Clusters
This study aims to classify graduates based on the similarity of competency characteristics by referring to the indicators of graduate user satisfaction. The indicators are implementation of Islamic values; integrity, ethics, and morals; expertise based on knowledge (professionalism); foreign language skills; ability to use ICT; communication; teamwork; and self-development. The survey was aimed at graduates of five study programs totaling 211 people. Determination of respondents using the purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire containing statements about the eight indicators. Data analysis uses descriptive and multivariate statistics with the non-hierarchical cluster method or K-Means cluster analysis, assisted with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software. The results show that based on the similarity of competency characteristics, graduates are grouped into three clusters, namely Cluster 1 with 13.27% with characteristics of graduates with low competence, Cluster 2 with 32.7% with characteristics of graduates with high competence, and Cluster 3 with 54.03% with the characteristics of graduates with moderate competence. Thus, a strategic program that is systematic, comprehensive, and continuous is needed to develop human resources to shape the quality mentality and competence of students and to be competitive with students and by the needs of the workforce or users. Madrasah Reposition in Building Community Trust in Covid-19 Era Disruption
The advancement of information systems is an opportunity and a challenge as well as for Islamic educational institutions. One of them is a madrasah. If madrasah does not respond appropriately and wisely to this progress, madrasah will be left behind and even abandoned. Thus, in simple terms the era of "disruption" has been described by many recent scientists. In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has implications for human life, including education. Online learning is a necessity. How has madrasah responded toward two major phenomena in the past of year. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The primary data sources came from the research locus, namely MI Maarif Kokap and MTsN 4 Kulon Progo. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, documentation and interviews. Meanwhile, data analysis adopted a triangulation system. The results of the study describe that the two madrasahs carried out five strategic steps in building community trust, namely (1) following the dynamics of the community, (2) making learning innovations, (3) involving the surrounding community, (4) assigning offline learning under certain conditions and (5) home visit activity. These findings show that in building public trust during the pandemic and disruption era, madrasahs need to be open to existing technological developments, follow community dynamics and strengthen relationships with   stakeholders
Transformational Leadership: Principal Intellectual Stimulation In Improving Teacher Competences
Various efforts have been made to improve teacher competence, but there are still many institutions that have not optimized teacher capacity development. This study examines the intellectual stimulation of principals in improving teacher competence in two favorite institutions in the East Java region of SDI Qurrota A'yun Tulungagung and MI Perwanida Blitar. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a multi-case study design. Data were collected through 16 teachers and one school committee, one student guardian, one community leader, and one employee determined by random purposive sampling. Information was obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of this study indicate the role of leaders in forming various teacher competency improvement programs; (a) Program in-service education. The leader delegates teachers to improve professional and pedagogical competencies, which consist of advanced study programs, equivalency studies, Teacher Professional Education (PPG), (b) Program in-service training. Leaders delegate teachers to improve pedagogical and professional competencies through training activities, seminars, workshops, and webinars. (c) Leaders conducted program on-service training as a facility to improve teacher competence, (1) Supervision Activities and Teacher Working Groups (KKG), (2) teachers are actively competing, (3) actively writing papers, (4) collaboration activity, (5) social service activities, (6) religious activity (7) Job rotation, (8) Curriculum integration according to the institution's development distinction, (9) Technology-based learning
Explored Jordanian Math Teacher’s Practices, and Belief Change in implementing mobile applications in education
The aim of This study explored Jordanian math teachers’ beliefs, practices, and belief change in implementing mobile applications in education Learning mathematics is a major focus of educational institutions at all levels and technology has long been an important teaching tool in the field of mathematics. Multiple sources of qualitative data were generated including metaphors, lesson plans and interviews with 17 math teachers. Although teachers considered Implementing mobile applications in education as an effective method that benefit student learning and they demonstrated progress in changing their beliefs moving from subject to didactic dimension through Implementing mobile applications in education, their practices remained partially aligned with their perceived belief changes. This discrepancy could be attributed to several encountered challenges, including teachers’ lack of confidence, difficulty in facilitating student collaboration, structural constraints, additional workload, and the lack of school and peer support. Results suggest the need for different types of “problems†and approaches such as more direct instruction, and higher feasibility in teachers’ autonomy when Implementing mobile applications in education. Outcome of this study has a few implications. First, discrepancy between belief and practice of implementing mobile applications. identified in this study suggests that appropriate and sufficient professional development activities are needed. The MOE and schools in Jordan should further articulate policy goals and standards that facilitate student-centered approaches for teachers. This research aims to describe the problems are how the position, condition, standardization, accusation, and protection of Islamic institutions higher education to services customer’s or student in Indonesia and how is learning system and developing science in this age and challenges facing Islamic institution of higher education and the expectations and strategies to deal accretion. The method uses library research, observation to document, literature, discussion, and interview with experts about LPTI. The research finding is the 21st century is the age globalization. It takes to impact on interdependencies, competition, and advances in science, information and communication technology on institution of Islamic higher education. Online Lecture During Covid-19 Pandemic from College Students’ Perspective
This research aims to analyze the obstacles of online learning during pandemic Covid-19. There have been pros and cons of online lecture during the pandemic due to lack of effectiveness of achieving education goals. However, education is expected to bring an improvement to students to be well-educated generation. To reach the goal, students must comprehend the materials given by lecturers. Yet, there are some problems that college students face during the process of online lecture. These problems became the background to conduct this research from which it can be a scientific work to give a contribution to analyze the problems specifically. This research was conducted by using qualitative method. The data were obtained by conducting interview which were analyzed and explained in the form of narration while maintaining the authenticity of the data. The result of this research revealed that limited internet access and lack of lecturers’ responsibilities became the obstacles for college students during online lecture. The students expected lecturers and campus staff to understand their situations. They hoped that the lecturers gave relevant deadline for submitting the assignments, focused on making the students understand the materials, and controlled/accompanied the flow of discussio
Developing Jurisprudential Inquiry Based Learning Model of Teaching Fiqh at Madrasah Tsanawiyah
Learning is the most significant activity in education. Through learning activities, the goals of education are achieved. Students’ success in learning mostly depends on their mastery to learn independently and on how they manage their study. The research aims to develop learning model at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, to make the learning process triggers students to be more creative and study better. The method used in the research refers to the nature of Research and Development. The steps of the study are preliminary study, development, and product test. The study found that the development of a jurisprudential inquiry-based learning model for learning Fiqh helps students to improve their learning outcomes. The model has significantly proven effective to support students’ behavior change, thus their achievement increases
Investigating Students’ Academic Stress on the Transition to Online Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic
This research is based on the situation of students at the State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang that were stressed due to the changing  of learning process into online learning during the pandemic of covid-19.The study aims to describe students state based on physical response, emotion, and behaviour. Quantitative method with descriptive approach were used. The objects of the research were chosen based on Random sampling. The instrument used in the research were questionnaire based on Likert. The research found that the level of academic stress based on physical response was high at 68 %, while in emotional response was 70 % and 65 % based on behaviour. The result of the research can be used as data to improve the quality and innovation of teaching and learning during the pandemic to avoid greater issues
Education Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Teachers and Learners Construction
The Covid-19 pandemic concequences in all of human aspect. Education is one of the main aspect that have to adapt from classical learning into virtual model. This condition that already happens at least 2 years bring various responses from both teachers and learners’ perspectives. This study reveals teachers and learner’s construction regarding education post Covid-19 pandemic. This reseacrh is qualitative by descriptive method. Furthermore, this study was conducted by distributing online questionnaires from 5 provinces respondents in Indonesia involving 40 teachers and 28 learners. The results of this study show that commonly, teacher get lack of technology and prefer to implement blended learning than pure vifrtual learning. From the students side, can be found that; e-learning has not fully accommodated some educational values that can transmitted through classical learning process only and blended learning is the suitable learning model for future education. Furthermore, this study recomend to identify the suitable blended learning model for sustainability of future education in every level education
Instrumentalization vs Instrumentation of Microlearning in a Math Class
The study aims to innovate the teaching and learning process of mathematics with a group of elementary school students from a rural population of Colombia, where the use of information and communications technology resources, as well as internet access in limited. The teachers implement microlearning so that children learn to solve arithmetic problems. The experience is descriptive with a non-probabilistic convenience sampling, developed from the creation and application of a virtual learning object whose pedagogical strategy was the use of microlearning. The study shows that the use of information and communications technology resources assist the students to learn mathematics. It also develops the office content, skill to interpret, know and solve mathematical problems from everyday situation to student
