Colorful Online Learning Problem of Early Childhood Education During the Covid-19 Pandemic
This research aims to determine the various problems of online learning at the level of early childhood education units during the COVID-19 pandemic. As for the issues among them, teachers have not all mastered IT; students tend to get bored too long studying at home. Likewise, parents are not ready to change the role of teachers at home and the policies of the central government and local governments and other issues. This research uses a qualitative approach. Respondent consists of a teacher of 12 people and a parent of 25 people. Research location in Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The process of retrieving data using questionnaires through a google form. The results showed there were colorful problems, including 1) communication between educators, parents, and protégés, 2) the lack of costs for procurement of information technology facilities, and the price for online learning needs, 3) the right online learning method for early childhood. While the obstacles faced by parents are 1) mastery of material submitted to the child, 2) less growing the interest of the child, 3) internet network problems, 4) time accompanying the child to study online
Enhancing Elementary School Students’ Learning Outcomes in the Field of Social Sciences Studies through Problem Based Learning Method
The learning outcomes of the Social Sciences study at the Elementary School level in Indonesia in general have not shown maximum results, this is because the social studies field includes subjects that are less attractive to students. This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning learning method and Conventional learning method as well as the ability to think logically towards learning outcomes in Social Sciences. This research was conducted on class VI students of the State Ibtidaiyah Madrasah in Ciputat, with a total of 60 students. This study uses treatment by level 2 x 2. The data analysis technique is the analysis of two-way variance (ANAVA). The results of the study showed that: (1) Student learning outcomes in social studies subjects taught using PBL learning method were higher than students taught using conventional method, (2) for students who have high logical thinking skills, the learning outcomes of students taught using the Problem Based Learning method are higher than those taught using conventional method, (3) for students who have low logical thinking skills, student learning outcomes are taught using the PBL method lower than students taught using conventional method.(4) there was an interaction effect between PBL learning method and logical thinking skills
Blended Learning Program: An Alternative Solution to Improve Students TOEFL Score
This action research aims at finding out how the blended learning can improve students toefl score. The design of this research is an action research which consists of four steps in a cycle, they are: planning, action, analysis and reflection. In planning step the reserachers did FGD which involved the students, instructors, the dean, the head of language centres and staff to discuss the problems and the alternative solution, designed the syllabus and prepared the materials. In the action step, the blended learning was implemented , 50%was in Face to Face (F2F) mode and other 50% was in information and technology (IT) mode (CALL, email, WA and SMS).The subjects were 20 students from 16 Study Programs in FKIP at the eight semester who have ever joined TOEFL but have not achieved the target score stated by the university, 477.The implementation of Blended learning was observed and analyzed as the next step. The Reflection result showed that Blended learning could improve the students TOEFL score. The students also enjoyed the activities and they believed blended learning helped them improve their TOEFL score. Therefore it is recommended that the University implement the Blended learning program as an alternative solution to solve the problem
Constructing Social Attitudes and Religious Tolerance in Emerald Diversity through te Teaching of Religion and Cultural Values
Diversity is already common place in Indonesia as a country that is nicknamed as the Emerald diversity. Indonesian state menghiasai diversity is seen as something that is very unique, but foreigners do not know that it is actually in it churned a result of lack of tolerance. SMK Nurul Ulum is a school that is not wished for it to happen. Therefore, this school creates an attitude of tolerance among human beings, which is based on the teachings of Islam, Christianity, Hindu-Buddhist and cultural values Pendhalungan. The method used in this article is using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and observation. Descriptive analysis is done by reviewing a wide range of journals, books, articles and other sources that support. While the observation conducted at SMK Nurul Ulum Jember namely by conducting in-depth interviews to the relevant school. The results showed that with the use of the teachings of tolerance of various religious and cultural values Pendhalungan and use a good strategy, tolerance can be built effectively in this school
The Development of Students’ Worksheet on Students’ Creative Thinking Skill
This study aims to 1) explain the development products of Student Worksheet on Student's creative thinking Skill; 2) describe the validity product of student Worksheet on Student's creative thinking Skill; and 3) describe the influence of student worksheet on Student's creative thinking Skill. The method in this study used to research and development (RD) the model of R D in this study using Borg Gall. The analysis used in the study of development technique has three of them, a review of the learning contents, descriptive analysis, and the analysis of the test results. The development of learning materials in the form of student worksheet of creativity proved can improve the process creative thinking skill of grade V SDN Tambak Asri 02 Malang. Suggestions for optimizing the utilization of materials development is 1) the development of learning materials can utilized as references for educators. 2) Learning materials that have been developed this for more good news can be integrated with the Quran or the Hadith perspective
English Skills Based Microteaching: An Effective Model in Enhancing English Student Teachers’ Teaching Skills
Building basic teaching and English skills for student teachers need appropriate and effective teaching model. The current study aimed at designing a model of Micro-teaching Based-English Skill for undergraduates English program at State Islamic University. Research and Development type was used to develop the model. The subjects of this study were seven groups of students (each consist of 12 students) and seven lecturers. Two groups were cluster randomly selected participate in this study. Pre-test and post-test design of experimental research model has been used without the control group and followed by treatment for 8 weeks prior to their teaching practice in the nearby schools. Data were taken from observations, questionnaires, and test. The results showed that Micro-teaching Based-English Skill model was appropriate for the lecturers and students. The students’ basic teaching and their English skills were better improved. Therefore, this model is suggested to be implemented provided that both English skills and pedagogical one were the major expectation to be reached
The Development of Teaching Materials on Integrated Science, Technology, and Religion to Improve College Students’ Integrative Knowledge
The purposes of this study were (1) to determine the specifications of teaching materials integrated STR; and (2) to analyze the results of expert validation to teaching materials integrated STR. The research method used in this study was Research and Development (R D) with a four-D procedure (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that (1) The profile of the teaching materials integrated STR are (a) teaching materials are integration between concepts of fundamental of physics and Islamic values of Al-Quran and Hadith ; and (b) the media developed is an integration between PPT and Phet; and (2) The results of the material expert validation on the results of the development of teaching materials integrated STR on aspects of content feasibility, aspects of presentation, aspects of language, and material integration are well categorized. The Urgency of Holistic Education in Muhammadiyah Schools
This article focuses on the importance of implementing holistic education in Muhammadiyah schools. The essence of education is to develop the full potentials of humanity covering the potentials of cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, creativity, and physical. The six potential humanities are a unity, which means a potential can be developed through another potential. Partial views of teachers on the potential of students have implications for non-intact practice of education in schools that make split personality on students. Muhammadiyah education as a part of the national education system is the mandate of the constitution to produce holistic man through education in Muhammadiyah schools. Translating from English into Indonesian: Which techniques to teach EFL students to be professional translators?
The credits for translation courses offered at the study program of English Language Teaching at a university level in Indonesia are very limited, which is not sufficient to teach and facilitate practices for all techniques of translation. Therefore, the students should only be taught techniques frequently used in translation from English to Indonesian. This research was to analyze translation techniques commonly used in translating from English to Indonesian. The data were collected from Colors magazine, an in-flight magazine for Garuda Indonesia. The magazine comes in two languages. The sentences were extracted, and translated sentences in Indonesian were compared to the original version in English. The research results showed that the most frequently used techniques in translating from English into Indonesian are amplification (23.36%), reduction (15.20%), transposition (12.32%), borrowing (12%), modulation (11.68%), and literal translation (10.08%). Therefore, it is recommended that lecturers teaching students majoring English Language Teaching provide them with those techniques of translations with practices, feedbacks and explicit instruction for revisions
