    No full text
This research explores the effectiveness and efficiency of the Red and White Coalition's Fat Cabinet under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, and its implications for state governance. Indonesia's presidential system, stipulated in the 1945 Constitution, gives the president the power to form a cabinet consisting of ministers appointed based on political considerations and competence. This research uses a qualitative method with a statutory and conceptual approach to analyze the structure and dynamics of the cabinet. The results show that although a fat cabinet has the potential to improve political stability and task specification, challenges such as inefficiency and coordination difficulties remain. Therefore, it is recommended that the Prabowo administration conduct periodic evaluations of ministry performance and increase transparency in decision-making to ensure policies that favor the public interest

    No full text
This research stems from the obligation of a rule-of-law state to protect its citizens from the threat of narcotics abuse, which is increasingly widespread and endangering the nation’s survival. The purpose of this study is to explain the obstacles faced by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Tangerang City in implementing law enforcement policies against narcotics crimes in its jurisdiction. This research employs an empirical legal method using a juridical-empirical approach, combining analysis of legal regulations with field data obtained through interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The findings show that although BNN Tangerang City has carried out various prevention, eradication, and rehabilitation policies through cross-sectoral cooperation with local governments, the police, and the community, implementation still faces serious challenges, such as shortages of human resources, limited operational facilities, weak inter-agency coordination, and gaps in technical understanding related to proving narcotics cases. In addition, the participation of Regional Government Organizations (OPD) is considered uneven, and private sector involvement remains minimal. This research recommends the need for increased budget allocation, recruitment and training of human resources, strengthening of forensic laboratories, optimization of technology, and regulatory improvements to create a more effective and sustainable narcotics control system in Tangerang City

Notaries play a strategic role in the Indonesian legal system, particularly in the preparation of company deeds of establishment and amendments. A notary's responsibilities extend beyond administrative duties and include preventive legal functions and oversight of document validity. The primary duties of a notary include verifying the identity of the parties, verifying the authority of the management, verifying the authenticity of documents, recording, storing, and providing legal advice to prevent misuse of documents by unauthorized parties. The case of Muhammad Rinaldi in Decision Number 589/Pid.B/2023/PN Jkt.Sel emphasizes the importance of verifying and legalizing amendments, as illegal use of old deeds can result in legal, financial, and reputational losses for both the company and third parties. Notarial deeds have full evidentiary power as stipulated in Article 1868 of the Civil Code and Law Number 2 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 30 of 2004 concerning the Position of Notary (UUJN). However, unlawful misuse of notarial deeds can be classified as a criminal act of document forgery as referred to in Article 263 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code. Legal protection for third parties acting in good faith is still guaranteed, including the right to restitution for losses resulting from forgery. This study confirms that integrity, professionalism, and the implementation of strict verification procedures by notaries are essential factors in ensuring legal certainty, preventing misuse of deeds, and protecting the rights of all interested parties. Thus, the role of notaries must be understood not only as the maker of deeds, but also as the guardian of legality and guardian of legal morality in notarial practice in Indonesia

Students are one of the important social segments that are affected and have an impact on the 2024 Presidential General Election (Pilpres). Therefore, this research aims to describe the rationality of students' political choices between rational, primordial, pragmatic, and emotional preferences or types, as well as their comparison with each other. With a population of 6174 students of Hatta University, spread across 33 study programs in the Even Semester 2023-2024, namely with cluster data collection techniques and proportional random sampling, the research sample was 330 people (5.34%), using a questionnaire instrument. The results of this study show that in real and internal comparison, each type of student political choice between rational and non-rational (irrational) preferences/types is contrasting but weak, namely 60.1% compared to 11.9%, primordial type 55.6% and non-primordial type 15.3%, pragmatic type 59.8% and non-pragmatic type 15.3%, while emotional type is 60.1% and non-emotional type 11.9%. Externally and in real terms, there is no dominant (weak) difference. However, the negative preferences of the primordial and emotional types were still more prominent, namely 55.6% and 60.1% (both less strong), so that the average difference in percentage with non-primordialism and non-emotional was 44.25% (less strong

The Impact of Regional Expansion on Local Government (Study on Musi Rawas and North Musi Rawas Regency)

The purpose of this research is to understand and analyse the impact of regional expansion in the context of local government with a study of Musi Rawas Regency and North Musi Rawas Regency.  The research method used is qualitative research. This research focuses on three parameters that become criteria and objectives in regional expansion, namely economic growth, regional financial performance, and community welfare which are tested using the impact evaluation method, namely comparative before - after from Finsterbusch & Motz (1980) in the dimension of ‘difference between actual and expected impact’ from Langbein (1980). Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The technique of determining informants is purposive sampling and snowball sampling analysis. The data analysis technique uses data analysis developed by Robert K. Yin (2016), namely compile database, disassemble data, reassemble data, interpret data, & conclude. The results showed that regional expansion in the parent region and DOB had an actual impact that was positive as expected through the parameters of economic growth, regional financial performance, and community welfare, but there were also unexpected and negative impacts. The positive impacts received by the community and local governments have not been proportional to the burden on the state budget for the expansion process and the transfer of funds each year to local governments. The results of this study indicate the need for strategies from the Mura and Muratara governments to improve and oversee community empowerment and regional superior commodities, infrastructure, and PAD, as well as equal distribution of teachers and health workers

Vulnerability and Poverty Cycle of Child Labor in the Urban Informal Sector: A Case Study of Kramat Jati Wholesale Market, Jakarta

The phenomenon of child labor, especially for women in the urban informal sector, is still a complex social problem in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the factors that encourage girls to work in the informal sector, the impact of work on their welfare, and the effectiveness of government policies in addressing this problem. Using a qualitative approach and case study method at the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market, Jakarta, this study collected data through field observations, in-depth interviews with girl workers and their families, and policy analysis related to child labor in Indonesia. The study results indicate that family poverty, lack of access to education, and social norms normalizing child labor are the main factors that encourage them to work. These girl workers are socially excluded in various forms. The lack of inclusive education services for children of workers is intertwined with them losing access to other rights such as poor health conditions, lack of safe places, vulnerable families due to crime and  unregistered marriages, dropping out of school, and ending child marriage. Educational inequality perpetuates child labor and creates a cycle of poverty that is passed down to the next generation

This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method, where data analysis involves collecting open data based on general questions and information analysis, as well as writing short notes during the study. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the food security program in Simbang Village, which is sourced from village funds in 2024, has been carried out well. Of the four key variables that influence the success of the food security program implementation in Simbang Village, the third variable is related to the street-level bureaucracy which is dominant in determining the success of the implementation of the food security program. From Donor to Ndoro: Donor Neocolonialism, Worker Vulnerability, and Solidarity for the Sustainability of the Indonesian Women's Movement

A donor relationship with civil society organizations (CSOs) is a relationship that is characterized by dependence caused by unequal power relations. This research aims to explore the importance of solidarity in the context of the sustainability of the Indonesian women's movement in the midst of this problem. Unlike previous studies, this study used the practice of vigilant eco-love in analyzing solidarity within the women's movement. In its approach, this study used a reflective thematic analysis method that emphasized themes in qualitative data obtained through semi-structured in-depth interviews. Interview participants were four figures who were significantly involved in the women's movement in Indonesia. This study identifies three themes: 1) donor neo-colonialism within CSO in Indonesia, 2) the vulnerability of CSO workers in sustainability issues, and 3) the importance of vigilant eco-love for sustainable women's movements. The study argues that the vigilant eco-love practice is the key to answering questions regarding the sustainability of the women's movement and the vulnerability of workers amidst the attack of donor neoliberal colonization. Nonetheless, the study has key limitation in the form of limited number of participants. Future studies might benefit from widening the pool of participant to donors and intermeary donors, as well as exploring the aspect of power relations between CSOs and their resources.
