Bašlar en vacances: subjekt nadracionalizma i njegova funkcionalna vrednost

    No full text
This paper deals with the problem of the subject in Bachelard’s concept of surrationalism. Focusing on the epistemological character of surrational creativity, the issue of the subject is approached through the analysis of the relationship between subjectivity and objectivity in the surrational act. Comparing the character of novelty in surrealism and surrationalism, the paper introduces Bachelard’s distinction between formal and material imagination, with the latter further discussed through the prepositions “against” [contre] and “in” [dans]. Bachelard’s theory of the internal dialectic – the theory of subdivision of the subject – is analyzed through his concept of reverie. The last chapter deals with the dialectic between the apodictic and the assertoric subject, aiming to reconsider the idea of interiority and repose.

Extreme situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic transparently show all the shortcomings of the Serbian system that should, in theory, provide support and protection to citizens in such circumstances. A particularly demanding task was to determine and measure the well-being of individuals during the pandemic, especially those from marginalized groups whose needs are not the priority to the system even under regular circumstances, those on the bottom of the social hierarchy who cannot influence the policies that shape their daily lives, or the decisions of authorities that further reproduce social inequalities. The paper examines institutional ethics of care during the pandemic in Serbia through the analysis of the adequacy of lockdown measures and their effects on the girls and women trafficking survivors. Analysis of the data collected in semi-structured interviews with girls and women showed that three central elements of the institutional (ethics of) care: the purpose of care, recognition of power relations, and the need for pluralistic tailoring of care to meet individuals’ needs, were not fulfilled during the pandemic and that the logic of institutional care has had a politicizing character in Serbia.

Reforma redistributivne politike u Srbiji posle 2000. godine

    No full text
Outcome Bias in Judging Revenge Pornography Toward Women

    No full text
Revenge pornography refers to any kind of uploading or publishing private photos or videos of someone without their consent. At the beginning of 2021, the public in the Balkans region found out about private groups on social networks, counting around 30,000 participants, mostly men, involved in revenge pornography toward women. Laws in Serbia do not explicitly prohibit revenge pornography. In this study, we wanted to examine whether legal consequences for the perpetrator would affect the negative public opinion of revenge pornography acts. The sample consisted of 509 participants (70% women), with an average age of 36.5 (SD = 13.2), and slightly more liberal according to self-assessment on a broad social attitudes scale ranging from 1 - liberal to 7 - conservative (M = 3.1, SD = 1.5). Firstly, all participants read a vignette describing a bogus case of a woman whose pictures a man posted online. Further, half of them read the second part about the legal consequences the perpetrator has suffered for his act - imprisonment, while the other half of participants read that he was not punished due to revenge pornography not being officially prohibited in our country. All participants provided judgment of the act itself on a 7-point scale ranging from 1 - very bad to 7 - very good, as well as their opinion on who is to blame for this act, also on a 7-point scale: 1 - the woman, 4 - both equally, 7 - the man. These judgements were provided twice, once after reading the first part of the vignette and after reading the second part. We expected that change in judgments would be led by outcome bias. Actually, in both of the judgment measurements, 90% of participants marked the act of the man as very bad. Due to the ceiling effect, we did not proceed with the planned analysis of change. The distribution of answers on the responsibility scale was trimodal (on word anchors) and negatively asymmetric because 52% of participants said that the man should take responsibility. We did not test if the change in victim-blaming is moderated by gender because of the insufficient number of men per experimental group. Whatsoever, a Wilcoxson signed-rank test (W = 50.50, p = .007) showed that all participants who read about the legal consequences blamed the perpetrator slightly more afterwards, which did not happen in the other group (W = 47.00, p = .054). Legal consequences can reduce victim-blaming and consequently form a social norm by which revenge pornography toward women is perceived as deviant behaviour

Benevolent and Hostile Sexism as an Obstacle to the Visibility of the Academic Contributions of Female Academic Workers in Serbia

    No full text
This paper focuses on sexist attitudes and behaviors in the academic community that represent barriers to the development of women’s academic careers and affect the visibility of their academic contributions in the long run. From the perspective of both male and female interviewees, the observed sexism directed towards female academic workers hinders their career advancement and undermines the possibility of both women’s solidarity and radical systemic change. Sexism wrapped up in seemingly meritocratic principles supports patriarchal academic culture by making the academic contributions of female academic workers less visible in the long run. Th e analysis is based on empirical insights from exploratory research conducted in 2017 on a sample of women academic workers engaged at state universities in Niš, Novi Pazar, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Belgrade, and focuses on the question: what factors lead to academic culture expressing benevolent and / or hostile sexism towards female academic workers, which indirectly affects the invisibility of the academic contributions of academic workers in Serbia

    Modal Logic Considerations and Architecture

    No full text
The lecture deals with the concepts of reality, possibility, virtuality, and contingency in the context of considerations about the character of the specifically architectural conception of space. With the inclusion of the phenomenological-hermeneutic perspective, the view of the “significant” spatiality should open up. In this context, particular attention is paid to the so-called existential concept of possibility, which Martin Heidegger worked out within his existential ontology. The presentation examines to what extent the constitutive primacy of the existential project or the existential future reference is also decisive for the constitution of the significance of the architectural spatiality. On the basis of these insights, the difference from other ideas of projectivity, such as the projectivity of the architectural concept, can then be examined
