Zoran Đinđić and the Ideological Conceptions of the Epoch: 1986-1993
The article reconstructs Zoran Đinđić’s views on the most influential political and ideological systems during his dissident period (1986–1989) and in the initial phase of his professional political engagement (1990–1993). Through a critical examination of the existing literature, his positions were examined with respect to: the doctrine of socialism in power, (neo)liberal worldviews, and the concepts of Serbian ethnic nationalism
Putovanje kao lutanje - O knjizi Predraga Krstića i Aleksandra Ostojića: O čemu govorimo kada govorimo o putovanju. Prilog kritici teleologije obrazovanja, Institut za filozofiju i društvenu teoriju, Beograd, 2023.
The Object as a Series of Its Acts
Our intention is to construct the conditions for a new position that more closely explains the reality of the object (its location, concreteness, possibility of being seen, extension, instantaneousness, etc.), but also the object’s movement, the “situation” in which it is or becomes a potential agent that “works,” influences us and incites us to movement towards us, indeed gives us a turn towards an ideal object and its realization. Using a variety of texts that thematize the object, a few passages from Hegel, we attempt to re-veal connections between key architectural (and not only architectural) concepts, form a given epistemological order, and differentiate amongst basic acts and operations that could be ascribed to the object
Nove predrasude i stare: Vrstizam i tradicionalni identiteti
Fighting the system: Challenges to diversity and equality in Social (and other) Psychology
We must face this fact: psychology is not sufficiently equal and diverse. Recent studies
highlight inequalities within the discipline of social psychology and structural disadvantages
faced by researchers from, among others, the region of South and Eastern Europe (Bou
Zeineddine, Saab, Lášticová, Kende, & Ayanian, 2021; Nyúl, Lantos, Reicher, & Kende,
2021). Building on these insights, we proposed a project supported by the European
Association of Social Psychology that aims to establish and empower a network of social
psychologists from ten countries within the region of South and East Europe (Bosnia &
Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine,
Latvia). This symposium is meant to be a local meeting of social psychologists to identify the
challenges and possible solutions – practices and resources that can help. We want to present
some insights and experiences to stimulate a discussion with our colleagues. In her talk, Bojana
Bodroža will offer insights into the issue of how limited resources are a challenge to producing
high-quality research and how these challenges can be overcome by relying on open-source
practices and building international collaborations. Tijana Karić will discuss the challenges and
opportunities for young researchers, as the early stage of their career is recognized as the
turning point affecting the future international participation of researchers. Finally, Iris Žeželj
will focus on examples of applicable practices aimed at increasing equality and diversity in the
discipline that are overcoming the challenge of tokenism, such as inclusive editorial policies
and fair crediting of co-authorship. The ambition of this symposium is thus to share experiences
and empower researchers in future efforts at international participation, aware of challenges
and biases but also more aware of their strengths and the opportunities for collaboration within
the region
The New Architecture Of The Palace Of Justice In Belgrade : Remodeling The Serbian Built Environment Towards The Spaces Of Inclusivity
The New Architecture of the Palace of Justice in Belgrade:
Remodeling the Serbian Built Environment Towards the Spaces of Inclusivity

For decades, the issue of accessibility of the built environment remains one of the key topics
in the societies focused on creation of equitable spaces, appropriate for use of all their citizens. The
Serbian Planning and Construction Law recognizes the necessity of accessibility standards, issuing the
set of accessibility norms and defining them as mandatory technical measures, standards and
conditions of design, planning and construction that ensure unhindered movement and access for
people with disabilities, children and the elderly.
In response to the Reworking architecture/ city thematic stream, this paper aims to explore how
can the remodeling of built environment, more specifically, public buildings, enhance their
functionality for the people for mobility impairments. To do so, it will analyze the case study the
reconstruction (arch. Z. Abadić) of the Palace of Justice in Serbia, a masterpiece originally constructed
in 1973 (architects Z. Žunković and M. Živadinović). The largest judicial facility in Serbia, housing
The High Court in Belgrade, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the criminal department of the
Second Court in Belgrade and the Second Prosecutor's Office, the Palace of Justice was fully renovated
in 2019.
This paper will focus on a specific aspect of the building’s remodeling approach which was
least discussed in terms of architectural contemporaneity – its accessibility. The research discusses the
design strategies employed to make the building accessible to the citizens with mobility impairments.
The paper will answer the following questions – what was successful about the particular design
decisions regarding the Palace of Justice’s accessibility, what could have been done differently – and
why. Ultimately, the paper implores the necessity of reworking Serbian architecture – and public
spaces – to transform them into inclusive environment that could be equally enjoyed by all its citizens.

THE BOOK OF ABSTRACTS of the panel: The One and Many: The Reception of Neoplatonic Notion of Hierarchy in the 14th and 15th century Balkans
The primary objective of this panel is to examine the reception of the Neoplatonism within the religious contexts of the Balkans during the 14th and 15th centuries, with a particular emphasis on exploring the concept of hierarchy and the interplay between the one and many. The panel aims to delve into the impact of Neoplatonic metaphysical concepts on the Christian and Islamic traditions in the Balkans, exploring their influence on theological and philosophical doctrines, religious rituals, artistic and architectural creations, as well as medical practices. Particular emphasis will be dedicated to the Neoplatonic concept of hierarchy, specifically examining its manifestation in two mystical and monastic movements of the era: Christian Hesychasm, originating with the monks of Mount Athos, and Islamic Sufism, embraced by the Ottoman military during their Balkan campaigns. The panel also aims to scrutinize the Italian Renaissance's adoption of Neoplatonic hierarchies by investigating the introduction of medical practices into the Balkans during the 15th century. Dionysius the Areopagite is credited with originating the concept of hierarchy to elucidate the process through which holiness is conveyed from God, often referred to as the One, to the subsequent created reality. Given that the term was not employed within the Christian tradition prior to Dionysius and was also not present in the Islamic tradition, essays concentrating on these traditions tend to use the term ‘hierarchy’ in a flexible manner to illustrate the connection between the one and many
Tim aparatom ćemo definisati pojmove neoliberalizma, terapijske kulture i kulture samopomoći, a potom ta određenja dopuniti specifičnim konceptima, kojima ćemo ih prilagoditi proučavanju postsocijalističkog konteksta. Ovaj teorijski okvir ćemo testirati analizom postojećih istraživanja terapijske kulture i kulture samopomoći u postsocijalističkim društvima istočne Evrope.
