    Perairan Indonesia merupakan daerah ruaya (migration)dari jenis-jenis mamalia laut (marine mammals) seperti paus, lumba-lumba dan ikan duyung, terutama di wilayah Indonesia bagian timur.Cetacea dan berbagai jenis biota laut peruaya lainnya termasuk jenis penyu hingga saat ini keberadaannya semakin terancam.Pemerintah Indonesia, melalui Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan melakukan upaya perlindungan spesies bagi mamalia laut dengan membentuk dan menetapkan kawasan konservasi Laut Sawu sebagai Kawasan Konservasi Perairan Nasional (KKNP).Penetapan suatu kawasan menjadi kawasan yang dilindungi tidak lepas dari kendala dan hambatan yang dihadapinya, tetapi hambatan dan kendala ini dapat dijadikan suatu tantangan dalam mengelola sumberdaya alam yang lebih efektif.Pengelolaan yang efektif bagi mamalia laut yakni dengan tetap melindungi ekosistem dan habitatnya, melakukan penelitian dan monitoring, pemantauan terhadap illegal fishing maupun destructive fishing.Kata Kunci :Cetacea, Konservasi, Tantangan, Pengelolaan efekti

    Given the importance of mangrove ecosystems in supporting the preservation of coastal resources, as well as threats to the sustainablity, a research to determine current conditions and potential for conservation of mangrove ecosystem in the coastal District Kwanyar Regency Bangkalan is needed. This research combines on site observation techniques, Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing to obtain accurate and the latest data. Furthermore, the data is possible to be updated. Objectives of this research are to examine the distribution of mangrove vegetations in Kwanyar District using GIS, to analyze the condition of the mangrove ecosystem based on RBI Map, Landsat Imagery, and field conditions and also to determine the areas that have potential condition as a mangrove conservation area. Methods of this research are adopted from the Ministry of Forestry in 2006. Results of this research showed that based on the RBI Map scale 1: 25.000 from 2006, Landsat imagery from 2002 and field survey on 2008, that are processed by Geographical Information System (GIS), the result showed that area covered by mangrove ecosystem in Kwanyar District are 140.76 ha and have been damaged. The data obtained from the results of scoring according to the rules issued by the Ministry of Forestry in 2006 showed that there was no area in the location that can be recommended as a conservation area. However, it can be argued that the village of Pesanggrahan has the better condition of mangrove ecosystems, therefore it has potency to be developed as a conservation area in the future.     Indonesia has a lot of potential marine ecosystem and fisheries, this condition make some many Indonesian get a occupation to be fisherman. However, that is make a problem during his fishing activity, so we have to make some sophisticated technology to support that is activity. At the time, remote sensing technology is the answer for they problem, it is because of that is technology fisherman can be improvement they catcher with more efficient. Determination of fishly ground area by remote sensing technology has some stage before arranging layout Fishly Ground Area Estimation (FGAE) map. Procedure to arranging are respectively data searching, data processing, and data analysis, and the last stage is composing of layout of FGAE map.The main purpose of this study is to know about catching area at Bali straits based on image satellite with creating layout of FGAE map. This activity doing descriptive method and the value are based on observation, interview, active participation, and literature search data. At the PDPI making process, the chlorophyl-a data and sea surface temperature getting important parameter, which temperature is the main to parameter to understand of front area and upwelling which is have a lot of nutrient composition. In the other hand, chlorophyl-a is also parameter to know of prosperity area. The data of current, wind speed, wave, and sea surface level are important component as supporting data that will be help to fisherman on determination of fishing ground area at helping fisherman in catching activity.     Dunaliella salina is one type of natural food that can be used in the hatchery business. The growth of natural food can be supported with an abundance of macro and micro nutrients. The purpose of this study to is to know pngaruh and best dose that can be used to enhance growth Dunaliella salina with cow rumen difermntasi mnggunakan Bacillus pumilus as organic fertilizer. Design research is Lengkap randomized design (CRD) followed by Duncan's Range Test. Treatment research Dunaliella salina was cultured at 3 different dose treatment, 2sebagai control (without fertilizer walne and rumen fermentation) and with 4 replications.The treatment dose of the bacteria Bacillus pumilus given are A (7.5%), B (10%), C (12.5%) as a control D (Fertilizer Walne) and E (rumen without fermentation). Results study to show that the addition of the bacteria Bacillus pumilus in rumen of cattle, mmbrikan significant effect trhadap Dunaliella salina growth. The addition of the bacteria Bacillus pumilus by 10% to mningkatkan growth of Dunaliella salina kpadatan 875,000 and is the culmination of the third day. Keyword : Dunaliella salina, Cow Rumen, Bacillus pumilu

    Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk membuat model algoritma yang tepat antara data konsentrasi klorofil-a in situ dengan nilai spektral spektroradiometer melalui analisis regresi – korelasi di Teluk Jakarta dan Kepulaun Seribu  Proses penyusunan algoritma dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear antara nilai konsentrasi klorofil-a sebagai variabel tak bebas dengan kombinasi kanal dari spektroradiometer sebagai variabel bebas.  Selanjutnya dilakukan uji-F dan uji-t  terhadap algoritma yang dihasilkan.  Pengolahan data secara statistik menghasilkan kombinasi kanal terbaik untuk menduga sebaran konsentrasi klorofil-a di Teluk Jakarta dan Kepulauan Seribu adalah K1+LnK5+K9.  Model persamaan penduga konsentrasi klorofil-a yang diperoleh secara statistik dinilai sangat baik karena memiliki nilai koefisien korelasi r = 0.999 dan nilai kefisien determinasi R2 = 99.8%.  uji kehandalan model yang dilakukan membuktikan bahwa algoritma yang dihasilkan  dapat diterima, dan konsentrasi klorofil-a teoritis yang dihasilkan tidak berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi klorofil-a pengamatan.  Dalam penelitian ini  penyusunan algoritma dilakukan untuk menduga sebaran horisontal dari nilai rata-rata konsentrasi klorofil-a yang ada pada kedalaman 1–3 meter. Kata kunci : Algoritma, klorofil-a, spektroradiomete

    Freshwater fishery commodities are most likely to be increased production of carp (Cyprinus carpio). Intensification of cultivation which raises new problems with fish disease outbreaks caused by Aeromonas hydrophila. Providing of immunostimulatory bioactive compounds of sea cucumbers (Holothuria scabra) can enhance non-specific immune responses in the goldfish as a mechanism of defense against disease. The purpose of this study is to determine the role and optimal dose of total phenols sea cucumber in enhancing non-specific immune response seen from the hematology parameters Extraction of bioactive components from sea cucumber prepared by using methanol and fractionated with ethyl acetate solvent (v/v). Identification of total phenols in ethyl acetate fraction performed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and infrared. Total phenol produced was tested on carp with intraperitonial injection, the concentration of 0.09, 0.18 and 0.27 mg phenol/kg fish. Challenge test was done by using the Aeromonas hydrophila (107 cells/ml) through the immersion method. The observations included hematological parameters and total plasma proteins.The observations of hematological parameters that Leukocytes, Neutrophils pre-and post-infection were significantly increased. Lymphocyte pre infection was increased significantly and post-bacterial infection was decreased significantly. Eosinophils, Monocytes pre-and post-bacterial infection were not differ significantly between treatment. The use of phenolic compounds at 0.09 mg / kg can be increase of non-specific immune response in carp (Cyprinus carpio).     Coastal areas of Banyuwangi Residence are location that exposed to industrial and settlement activity. This condition makes much waste contaminated coastal area of Banyuwangi Residence, and can decrease quality of the area. Plankton is organism that live depended on quality of aquatic environment. Several species of plankton can live on contaminated water. So we can use diversity of plankton as water pollution indicator. The aim of this research is to know coastal contamination status in Banyuwangi Residence. Plankton was used as bioindicator to anticipating coastal pollution. This research is conducted at the dry season on 2010. The result of this research showing the value of shannon diversity index are : 0.60796, 1.17653, 2.25307, 0.54356. This value showing water pollution happened in coastal area of Banyuwangi Residence.     Study biomagnifition of lead (Pb) of sea water, Seagrass, “baronang” species of fish and sediment, on Bontang coastal waters. The objective of this research was to know the compound Pb in sea water, sediment, seagress and “baronang”. And to know the adsorption and bioconcentration of them. This research conducted through field survey and laboratorium analysis, where the result elaborated as quantitative descriptive since Mei to October 2009, covering had taken the samples, sample preparation, laboratorium analysis, tabulation and data analysis. The samples analyzed by purposive method to provide accurate and efficient data in order to achive the research objective. The result showed that, the heavy metal of Pb in the sea water from 0,796 to 0,997 ppm, in sediment from 2,862 to 3,970 ppm, in seagrass from 0,114 to 0,567 ppm), and in baronang from 0,044 to 0,229ppm (samples of liver of fish) and from 0,269 to 0,574 ppm (samples of muscle). By this result had be known that, the Pb content in sediment is higher than in both seagrass and baronang. By the partial statistical analysis result shows that the Pb content in all of samples (water, seagrass,sediment and baronang fishes) differed, significantly. The adsorption and bioconsentration factors analysis toward Pb shows that in sediment were from 3,312 to 3,982 ppm, seagrass were from 0,116 to 0,712 ppm, and baronang”’ muscle from 0,272 to 0,721 ppm, also in liver from 0,044 to 0,287 ppm.     Indonesia has a marine biological resources are very large with the content of various types of creatures living in it. The biological richness of which are fish that have a benefit in the field of food and health. Tunafish (Euthynnus affinis) is a species that is very interesting to study both in terms of nutritional composition and in terms of its economy. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutrient content and chemical compounds contained in red meat and white meat tuna. Research methodology includes observation of morphology, proximate analysis and phytochemical analysis of tuna. The highest yield was found in meat that  50%. Proximate protein content of the highest in the white meat that was 68.36%, the highest fat in red meat was 5.6%, the highest in red meat ash 3.29%, and the highest water on the white meat that was 12.16%.     Cost for feed is about to 60-70% of fishery production costs, but the current feed price is higher as well, so need feed manipulation such as fermentation and feed ingredients substitution that are usually derived from wastes such as kepok banana peels. Fermentation with Trichoderma viride used 4 treatments and 5 replications for 7 days. Inoculum doses were P0 (0%), P1 (3%), P2 (5%) and P3 (5%). Result of this study showed statistically differences (p0.05) for crude protein contents and the best treatment was P2 (5%) and not statistically differences (p0.05) for crude fibre contents. Fermented banana peels with 5% inoculum dose could be used for feed ingredients substitution as isoenergy to replaced rice flour, corn flour and starch in feed formulation for common carp fish (Cyprinus carpio) that includes as likeable cultured fish and one of omnivore fish that tolerable for high amount artificial feed. Keywords: Waste.
