    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the role of whistleblowers in exposing corruption crimes in Indonesia and to determine the extent to which protection and the legal system can protect whistleblowers and encourage whistleblower courage. This research uses a normative juridical method with a statutory approach to analyze laws and regulations related to corruption crimes. The results show that the whistleblower system plays an important role in efforts to eradicate corruption, but its implementation still faces significant challenges. Data reveals that 90% of whistleblowers lose their jobs after reporting, although 84% are still willing to report again. A Transparency International Indonesia survey showed 68% of respondents were ready to become whistleblowers. The effectiveness of the system is influenced by five factors: legal framework, law enforcement, facilities, public awareness, and culture. Despite a 25% increase in the LPSK budget by 2023, legal protection is still not optimal. The research recommends strengthening regulations, improving the protection system, intensifying public education, strengthening organizational culture, and developing an incentive system to increase the effectiveness of the whistleblowing system in combating corruption in Indonesia

The background of this research is based on the many cases of state losses arising from administrative errors by employees, which are often not based on intent, but have the potential to result in criminal sanctions. The purpose of this research is to determine the form of legal protection for budget management employees who commit administrative errors, analyze the mechanism for resolving state losses, and examine the efforts of the Food Security, Food Crops and Horticulture Service of North Sumatra Province in preventing administrative errors. This research uses an empirical juridical method with a statutory approach and a case approach, through literature studies, observations, and interviews with relevant sources. The results show that legal protection for budget management employees is provided through the principle of **ultimum remedium**, the principle of presumption of innocence, and the provisions of Law Number 30 of 2014 concerning State Administration. The mechanism for resolving state losses prioritizes administrative channels and claims for compensation (TP-TGR), while criminal channels are only taken if there is evidence of abuse of authority or malicious intent. The North Sumatra Food Security, Food Crops, and Horticulture Agency is working to improve employee competency through training, implementing a government internal control system (SPIP), and implementing multi-layered oversight to minimize administrative errors

    Get PDF
Open pit mining activities can have many impacts on the environment, such as the formation of mine pits containing acid mine drainage. This requires proper and correct handling so as not to harm the environment. The acidity of mine drainage can vary greatly depending on the quantity and type of minerals it contains. The objectives of this research are: to identify and determine the rock materials that have the potential to generate acid mine drainage (AMD) as Potentially Acid Forming (PAF) rocks and Non-Acid Forming (NAF) rocks. The research began with sample preparation, mineralogical analysis, AAS, static testing, and XRF testing. The research results indicate that the samples are primarily composed of quartz, with some hematite and goethite grains observed as fine, curved pore fillings. Gold (Au) is found within the mineral electrum (AuAg). The minerals present in the gold ore rocks are predominantly oxides, consisting of 84.7% SiO2, 8.23% Fe2O3, and other components. The rock samples are classified as NAF, as indicated by the paste pH analysis results of 7.05 and 6.94, total sulfur analysis values of 0.37% and 6.43%, and NAPP values of -5.1 and -3.5
