Potential Reduction of CO2 Emissions in Transportation Bus Vehicles with Diesel Fuel and Compressed Natural Gas : Case Study: Fuel Mix Variations
The Indonesian government continues to strive to reduce CO2 emissions, with a target reduction of 29% by 2030. In urban areas, motor vehicles are the largest contributors to CO2 emissions, accounting for 70%. One of the steps that can be taken to reduce CO2 emissions is by using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a vehicle fuel. The purpose of this writing is to study the impact of replacing Diesel Fuel with CNG on the CO2 emissions generated by transportation buses.. Based on the discussion, the CO2 emissions produced by 100 city buses (fuel consumption of 100 L/unit/day) are 26.20 tons of CO2/day, 785.96 tons of CO2/month, and 9,562.56 tons of CO2/year for 100% diesel fuel. For 100% CNG fuel, the emissions are 0.02 tons of CO2/day, 0.63 tons of CO2/month, and 7.72 tons of CO2/year. CO2 emissions are reduced by 2.61 tons of CO2/day, 78.54 tons of CO2/month, and 955.49 tons of CO2/year for every 10% reduction in diesel fuel usage. CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to 99.9% by replacing diesel fuel with CNG. The area of forest required to eliminate CO2 with 100% diesel fuel composition annually is 16.79 hectares, while with 100% CNG composition, it is only 0.01 hectares. The forest area required decreases by 1.67 hectares for every 10% reduction in diesel fuel composition

KH Museum Hasyim Asy'ari in Jombang is an important building dedicated to commemorating the cultural and historical heritage of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, a very influential religious and educational figure in Jombang, East Java. KH Museum Hasyim Asy'ari is an architectural project that uses a postmodern approach to depict the history and intellectual heritage of prominent religious figures in Jombang. Through research on the KH museum building. Hasyim Asy'ari, can increase our insight into the design of Islamic buildings in Jombang and to find out the characteristics of existing post-modern architectural buildings. This research uses a qualitative research method, namely by collecting data through library techniques. The museum's design combines traditional Javanese elements with contemporary geometry and postmodern ornamentation. This is related to the postmodern architectural approach for the KH museum. Hasyim Asy'ari is very suitable for further study. Apart from that, this research will explore the use of space in the museum, such as the layout of exhibition galleries, information rooms and meeting rooms. The design of the Four Star City Hotel in Tebet, South Jakarta, which will implement eco-tech architecture as an innovative solution in responding to sustainability challenges in the urban hotel sector. This approach integrates modern technology with environmentally friendly principles by utilizing solar panel energy as an energy source. The hotel design is designed to optimize energy efficiency, minimize environmental impact and create maximum comfort for visitors. Apart from considering functional and aesthetic aspects, this design is oriented towards sustainable development which supports reducing the carbon footprint. The results are expected to make a positive contribution to the creation of a greener and more energy efficient urban environment
Pengaruh Orientasi Bangunan terhadap Suhu Termal dan Kelembaban pada Unit Rusunawa Keudah di Banda Aceh
The primary function of residential spaces is to ensure occupant comfort, with thermal conditions playing a key role. Thermal comfort is achieved when body temperature balances with the surrounding environment, influenced mainly by temperature and humidity. This study examines the impact of building orientation on thermal comfort, particularly temperature and humidity, based on Indonesian National Standard (SNI). A quantitative method was used, combining field measurements and ANSYS 2021 R2 simulations. The study focused on four rental apartment (Rusunawa) units in Keudah, Banda Aceh, with different orientations. Measurements were taken over three consecutive days in March 2024, recording indoor temperature and humidity. Results show that building orientation does not significantly affect thermal conditions. The lowest recorded temperature was 28ºC in Block D (east-oriented), while the least comfortable unit had the highest temperature of 35.5ºC in Block B (west-oriented). The lowest humidity (66.2%) was recorded in Block C, while the highest (85%) was found in Blocks B and D
Studi Implementasi Green Building pada Terminal Joyoboyo Surabaya
The impact of globalization includes negative effects on the environment. With increasing awareness among the public about the alarming state of environmental health and the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly construction in Indonesia, this study aims to understand the strategies employed by Joyoboyo Terminal in obtaining green building certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). A qualitative method is used as the data source, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. The scope of this research uses green architecture parameters, including Respect for Site, Respect for Users, Working with Climate, Conserving Energy, Minimizing New Resources, and Holism. The results of this study indicate that Joyoboyo Terminal has applied green architecture principles as an environmentally friendly terminal. This research is expected to provide references and development for subsequent studies on sustainability strategies in terminals and to raise public awareness of green architecture in buildings as an effort towards environmental friendliness and global health
Penerapan Arsitektur Tropis pada Bangunan Sekolah Menengah Atas Katolik Frateran Ndao di Kota Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur
Educational buildings in tropical regions, such as the Frateran Ndao Catholic High School (SMAK) in Ende City, East Nusa Tenggara, are faced with the challenge of achieving thermal and visual comfort due to exposure to direct sunlight, high humidity, and air circulation that is not always optimal. This study was conducted to evaluate the extent to which the principles of tropical architecture are applied to the building of SMAK Frateran Ndao, especially in terms of building orientation, opening system, cross ventilation, natural lighting, as well as shading and overstacking. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with a case study approach. Data was collected through direct observation of architectural elements, field measurements of building orientation and openings, visual documentation, and interviews with space users (students). The data analysis technique is carried out through an evaluative-qualitative approach, namely by examining the findings of tropical architectural principles which include aspects of orientation to the dominant sun and wind, the effectiveness of cross-ventilation, the adequacy of natural lighting intensity, the role of overstack in ventilation, and the presence of natural shadowing elements in the building environment. The results of the study show that the orientation of the building facing southeast is quite effective in maximizing morning lighting, but it has not been able to reduce excessive heat and glare during the day due to the lack of shade vegetation and limited cross openings. The overstack system has been implemented but has not been supported by other passive elements as a whole. Meanwhile, space users complained of thermal and visual discomfort between 11.00 and 14.00, which can only be temporarily overcome with the use of curtains. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of tropical architectural principles to the SMAK Frateran Ndao building is still limited to basic orientation and ventilation, and has not been fully optimized through a thorough passive design strategy. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the shadowing elements, add shade tropical vegetation, and improve the cross-opening system to support the comfort of the learning room in accordance with tropical climate conditions in a sustainable manner
Penerapan Arsitektur Tropis pada Gedung Sekolah RA Al-Ikram di Medan Sunggal
Indonesia has a tropical climate, Indonesia also has high rainfall, high humidity and is exposed to intensive sunlight. Indonesia faces unique challenges in creating buildings that are not only aesthetic, but also functional and comfortable for its occupants, so tropical architecture plays an important role in reducing heat accumulation and optimizing indoor air ventilation. Tropical Architecture is a design that focuses on and adapts to tropical climate conditions, such as in Indonesia. Therefore, tropical architecture in Indonesia needs to be considered, one of which is in the city of Medan, North Sumatra province, Indonesia. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the application of tropical architecture to the Ra Al - Ikram school building. Upaya Pencegahan Demam Berdarah Dengue Dengan Menerapkan Perilaku Hidup Bersih Dan Sehat Di SMPN 191 Jakarta Barat
Aedes Aegypti is the cause of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), which is transmitted by its bite. Schools are one of the locations that cause the transmission and spread of dengue fever due to the cleanliness of the school environment and school sanitation, which is still classified as not yet clean. This community service aims to educate students on preventing the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever by implementing clean and healthy living behavior in the school environment. Community service methods include socialization, pre-test, and post-test, student education using lecture methods, and discussions with students. The community service results stated that there was an increase in the knowledge of students at SMPN 191 West Jakarta in understanding the implementation of PHBS in the school environment as an initial effort to prevent the spread of dengue fever in the school environment. In this activity, information was obtained that 79.95% of students' knowledge had increased regarding the application of PHBS, especially in washing hands using soap. However, several points that were not optimal were consuming healthy food in the school canteen area
Pengenalan SDGs Bagi Siswa Sekolah Agama Berasrma Penuh Maahad Ahmadi Negeri Sembilan Malaysia untuk Membangun Pemuda Kritis dan Agen Perubahan
This research aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through socialization activities carried out at the Maahad Ahmadi Negeri Sembilan Boarding Boarding School (SABP MANS), Youth in Malaysia have great potential as agents of change in sustainable development, but the low SDGs literacy among students, especially in faith-based schools, is still a challenge. This activity uses the method of lectures and participatory discussions to instill critical values and social responsibility. A total of 30 students participated in the training and were evaluated through questionnaires to measure their understanding and commitment to real action. The results of the analysis showed that participants had high enthusiasm and showed increased understanding and desire to engage in various sustainability activities. The majority of students show interest in SDGs education, environmental issues, and social engagement. This research recommends the integration of SDGs education into the school curriculum and the continuous expansion of similar activities to shape the younger generation as critical thinkers and change-makers in the future
OPTIMIZATION OF BAMBOO ROOTS PGPR DOSAGE ON MUNG BEAN GROWTH AND YIELD
The application of plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) offers an eco-friendly approach to enhancing crop growth and productivity. This study assesses the effects of PGPR derived from bamboo roots on growth metrics (e.g., stem diameter and branch count) and yield traits (e.g., pod count, fresh and dry pod weights, and harvested bean weight) of mung bean (Vigna radiata L.). Bamboo roots were selected as a unique source of PGPR because it fosters a favourable environment for beneficial microorganisms, enhancing nutrient absorption in plants. Conducted under controlled conditions, this experiment followed a completely randomized design, tested six PGPR dosage: 0 ml/polybag (H0), 10 ml/polybag (H1), 20 ml/polybag (H2), 30 ml/polybag (H3), 40 ml/polybag (H4), and 50 ml/polybag (H5) applied weekly. Results revealed significant growth promotion during the late vegetative phase, with H3 yielding optimal outcomes improved stem diameter, branch number, pod count, and seed dry weight. Higher dosages (H4, H5) negatively impacted growth, potentially due to microbial competition, nutrient imbalance, or stress. This eco-friendly method demonstrates the potential of bamboo-derived PGPR to boost mung bean productivity, supporting food security and profitability. Further studies should investigate its long-term effects and adaptability across diverse crops and farming systems, enhancing its utility for sustainable agriculture
