BIODEGRADATION OF STYROFOAM WASTE BY HONGKONG MEALWORMS (Tenebrio molitor)
This research aims to describe the ability of mealworms (Tenebrio molitor) to reduce styrofoam waste by observing the decrease in styrofoam weight and survival rate over one week. The method used is an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments (P0, P50, P100, P150) and 4 replications. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research stages include container preparation, larvae, stocking, feeding, and maintenance. The results show that the weight loss of styrofoam occurred at P50 (18.5%), P100 (22.75%), and P150 (36%). Meanwhile, the control group (P0) only experienced a weight loss of 1.5%. This indicates that the greater the number of T. molitor, the greater the weight loss of styrofoam. The highest survival rate for T. molitor was observed at P50, with a decrease in numbers of only 12.5%. At P150, the decrease was 16.8%, and at P100, it was 28.75%. This decrease is suspected to be caused by competition among T. molitor, population density, and a lack of nutrients despite the addition of supplementary feed. Based on the analysis of the results, it can be concluded that T. molitor is capable of reducing styrofoam waste, with the highest survival rate in the P50 group

Innovation of Regional Tax Revenue: The Integration of TMD and MPOS in Improving Hotel Tax Efficiency
Increasing efficiency and transparency in local tax management is a significant challenge for many local governments, especially in developing cities. The study aims to explore the application of the Transaction Monitoring Device (TMD) and Mobile Payment Online System (MPOS) in the hotel tax sector of Kendari City, as well as to identify the impact of this technology on tax administration efficiency and regional revenue optimization. The method employed in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data collection through in-depth interviews, documentary studies, and field observations. The study results indicate that implementing TMD and MPOS enhances tax collection efficiency, improves transaction data accuracy, and fosters taxpayer compliance. Hotel tax revenues exceeding the yearly target show that this technology optimizes regional tax revenues. Employees also play an essential role in supporting the smooth implementation of these two systems by improving internet infrastructure and training taxes. This research implies that digital-based technology can accelerate and simplify regional tax management, increase taxpayer confidence, and support regional economic growth. The limitation of this study is that it is limited to the hotel tax sector in Kendari City and does not examine other external factors that affect tax revenue. Further research is recommended to explore different industries and broader policy factors when applying this technology
Leadership And Management Skills: A Neglected Issue in South African Municipalities
This paper aims to analyze the prevalence of ignorance of the significance of effective leadership and Management within the municipal administration setup. Such practice compromises service delivery at the coal face of the community. Service delivery has been and is still a problem in South African municipalities. Numerous concerns about it were raised, both scholarly and political. Leadership and Management are critical variables that have not been thoroughly investigated regarding their impact on impediments to municipal service delivery. The paper adopts a qualitative approach and employs a desktop study method to collect data that supports the notion that the South African political leadership is unaware of the importance of leadership and management skills in delivering services to the people. The results of the paper demonstrated that ignoring consideration of people’s leadership and management skills within the municipal environment leads to inefficient service delivery, a lack of public trust, corruption, public protests, and instability. The paper concludes that the consideration of leadership and management skills in the leadership and Management of South African municipalities can ensure the country's success in delivering services in its municipalities
Self-efficacy as a Mediator in the Relationship between Self-esteem and Social Conformity in Emerging Adulthood
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and social conformity with self-efficacy posited as a potential mediator among emerging adults. As emerging adults, one of the critical developmental tasks is the consolidation of personal identity. In this identity formation process, which include significant influences from the environment, made emerging adults particularly prone to social conformity pressures. The quality of self-esteem and self-efficacy is presumed to directly impact the degree of social conformity observed in this population. Data collection was executed via a questionnaire employing convenience sampling, yielding responses from 320 undergraduate students at Bandung City. Mediation analysis using Hayes' Process Model 4 revealed a significant association between self-esteem and social conformity; however, no significant mediating effect of self-efficacy was found between self-esteem and social conformity. Notably, self-esteem was also found to be significantly correlated with self-efficacy. This finding shows that self-esteem has a great importance for emerging adults. This is due to its significant correlation to both social conformity and self-efficacy
Maritime Piracy in Nigeria: A Survey-Based Study of Root Causes, Security Challenges and Policy Responses
Maritime piracy is a significant concern for Nigeria's economy, local development, and national security, particularly in Bayelsa State, which is a key port site in the Gulf of Guinea. The national and international efforts of all parties involved have not led to an improvement in the situation, and maritime piracy continues to threaten economic opportunities, national security, and the livelihoods of individuals. This study examined the deeper and proximate sources of maritime piracy in Bayelsa, focusing on the legal and policy responses required for effective policymaking. Using a cross-sectional survey design and a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 300 respondents across the Brass, Otuoke, Nembe, and Ogbia Local Government Areas, employing cluster sampling methods. The quantitative data were descriptively analyzed using SPSS Version 25, and ANOVA and Spearman's Rank Correlation tests were used to test the hypotheses. The results established the links between maritime insecurity and youth unemployment, environmental degradation, poverty, and weak institutional governance. The research utilizes Relative Deprivation Theory (RDT) to demonstrate how feelings of inequality can foster resentment, and it employs Frustration–Aggression Theory (FAT) to illustrate how frustrated aspirations may lead to aggression and violence, especially the clear relationship between feelings of marginalization and piracy. Additionally, the study backs the shift away from militaristic, reactionary solutions to inclusive, preventative, and developmental responses to global piracy in the region. Ultimately, achieving enduring peace in the Bayelsa maritime corridor requires a multi-stakeholder strategy that incorporates human security as a key ethical consideration in the formulation and implementation of policies

Detection of Chicken Egg Quality with Digital Image using EfficientNet-B7
Chicken eggs are one of the staple food ingredients in Indonesia, playing a vital role in fulfilling the nutritional needs of the community. Therefore, an efficient, accurate, and reliable method for assessing egg quality is essential, especially to support the distribution process in the food industry. This study aims to develop a digital image-based classification system for assessing the quality of chicken eggs using deep learning methods with the EfficientNet-B7 architecture. EfficientNet-B7 was selected for its proven high accuracy in image classification tasks through the application of compound scaling, which simultaneously optimizes depth, width, and resolution. The dataset used in this study combines images collected from public sources and primary documentation, representing various conditions commonly found in chicken eggs. The preprocessing stage involved trimming techniques to focus on the egg object, followed by data augmentation using ImageDataGenerator, including rotation, shifting, zooming, and flipping to enhance dataset diversity. Model training was carried out with the early stopping technique to prevent overfitting. The experimental results showed that the model achieved an accuracy of 98.08% in classifying egg quality based on shell condition and other visual indicators. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the EfficientNet-B7 model has great potential to support the automation of chicken egg quality assessment processes in a faster and more consistent manner. Thus, this research is expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of the food industry, particularly in the distribution process of chicken eggs in Indonesia
