    Reskilling and Upskilling Strategies as the Key to Workforce Adaptation in the Era of Automation and AI

    The transformation of the labor landscape driven by automation and artificial intelligence (AI) demands new, relevant, and adaptive skills from the workforce. This study aims to identify contextual and inclusive reskilling and upskilling strategies in rural areas, focusing on Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. Using a qualitative case study approach with in-depth interviews involving training providers, participants, community leaders, and local government agencies, the study finds that strengthening basic digital literacy is a critical foundation for preparing communities to navigate technological transitions. Blended learning models, the use of locally relevant media, and the involvement of community mentors have proven effective in increasing participation and comprehension. However, challenges such as limited digital infrastructure, a shortage of qualified trainers, and low training literacy persist. Multi-stakeholder collaboration among vocational training institutions, village governments, and local businesses emerges as a key strategy to expand training reach and ensure program sustainability. Locally relevant training, such as digital marketing for SMEs and online modules aligned with the national Prakerja program, shows strong potential to create new employment opportunities and enhance community competitiveness. This study recommends strengthening training infrastructure, providing continuous mentoring, and designing community-based policies as essential strategies for successful workforce transformation in the digital era. The findings contribute to Indonesia’s national human resource development agenda by offering evidence-based insights on how localized, collaborative approaches can accelerate workforce adaptation to global technological disruption

    Analisis Implementasi Kebijakan Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga di Kabupaten Muara Enim Berdasarkan Teori Edwards III

    This study analyzes the implementation of household waste management policies in Muara Enim Regency based on the implementation theory of George C. Edwards III, which includes four main variables: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The background of this research is the increasing volume of household waste that has not been balanced with an effective and sustainable management system. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing regional policy documents, field observations, and interviews with relevant parties. The results of the study show that the implementation of waste management policies has not been optimal. Inhibiting factors include a lack of policy socialization, limited transportation facilities and infrastructure, weak coordination between agencies, and low public awareness of independent waste management. Improvement efforts should focus on enhancing cross-sector communication, strengthening the capacity of human resources and facilities, and empowering the community to maintain environmental cleanliness. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government and the community to realize effective, efficient, and sustainable waste management in Muara Enim Regency

    Dynamic Governance in public service: Case Study on Bojonegoro Traffic Information Center application

    The Bojonegoro Traffic Information Center (Bojonegoro TIC) application is an innovative application managed by the Transportation Agency to facilitate the process of providing public information services in the field of traffic. The government is expected to be able to implement dynamic governance, by the times but not ignoring the needs of the community. Focusing on a case study where the Bojonegoro Traffic Information Center application has been launched since 2018 and has undergone three stages of renewal, but the people of Bojonegoro city still do not know the existence of the Bojonegoro Traffic Information Center application in providing public information services. There are still several obstacles such as in 2022 the weakness of CCTV real-time data that cannot function for almost a year, there are still many people who are in remote areas, and also people who are old are not accustomed to using cellphones as a source of public information services, they think that cellphones are only limited to communication tools. This study aims to determine the dynamic governance of service delivery through the Bojonegoro Traffic Information Center application according to Neo & Chen 2007, where there are three dynamic governance capabilities: Thinking Ahead, Thinking Again, and Thinking Across. The results of the study have thought ahead by preparing public services through one service application and creating innovations to bring services closer to the community, but also have thought again by conducting regular evaluations and thinking across borders by adopting thoughts from other regions by implementing directly on the application so that it can support public services to the community

    Women's Engagement in STEM Fields in Bangladesh: Trends, Obstacles, and Strategies

    The involvement of women in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields in Bangladesh raises significant concerns, particularly in light of the country's remarkable advancements in education and economic development. The female population constitutes half of Bangladesh's demographic, making their increased participation in the STEM fields not just essential but a necessity for addressing labor market needs and preventing talent shortages. The involvement of women in the STEM field fosters social justice by providing them with opportunities for high-paying and stable careers, thereby diminishing gender disparities in both education and employment. This article aims to examine the current trends and obstacles affecting women's participation in the STEM field in Bangladesh, as well as to identify potential strategic interventions that could be implemented to address these issues. This article is based on secondary sources. Despite significant progress in women's rights and representation across various sectors, the participation of women in STEM fields continues to be alarmingly low, with only about 14% of women engaged in these areas. This article identifies several barriers faced by women in the STEM field in Bangladesh, including societal and cultural obstacles, a scarcity of female role models and mentors, the absence of gender-inclusive policies, and a hostile work environment, among others. This article proposes that there is a need to enhance the enrollment of women in STEM disciplines. Educational institutions must proactively engage in initiatives that foster STEM education, specifically for girls. Organizations must establish a supportive work environment to ensure the retention of female employees

    Product Responsibility and Licensing of Skincare Product Labels in The Perspective of Justice

    This article aims to analyze skincare product label licensing regulations in Indonesia, examine product liability and label licensing for skincare products from the perspective of justice, and explore efforts to combat criminal acts involving the distribution of skincare products that is failed to meet the quality also the safety standards. The problem is focused on the discovery—at the beginning of 2025—of 16 cosmetic items containing harmful and/or prohibited substances, including 10 contract-manufactured products and 6 imported products, and the necessity to ensure that all skincare products on the market comply with established quality and safety standards. In order to address this problem, the theoretical frameworks of product liability theory, justice theory, and crime prevention theory are used. The data is gathered through a review of literature and sujected to qualitative analysis. This study ultimately finds that that improved dissemination of regulatory information, stricter enforcement by BPOM, and awareness among all relevant parties are required to ensure consumer protection and the integrity of skincare product labeling

    Legal Certainty of Jurisdiction and Authority of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Regarding the Detention of Rodrigo Duterte in the “War on Drugs” Case

    This article aims to analyze the relationship between state withdrawal and the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC), particularly in the context of the Philippines' decision to withdraw from the Rome Statute. The problem is focused on the legal implications of such a withdrawal, especially in terms of how it influences the ICC's authority to investigate and prosecute crimes committed prior to the effective withdrawal date. This issue is exemplified by the Philippines' controversial "war on drugs" campaign under President Rodrigo Duterte, which has led to the deaths of thousands of civilians and is alleged to constitute serious human rights violations and crimes against humanity. In order to approach this problem, a normative theoretical reference is used to examine international law and the principles of accountability that underpin the ICC’s mandate. Data is collected through a comprehensive analysis of legal texts, court rulings, and relevant case studies. This study concludes that despite a state’s formal withdrawal from the Rome Statute, its responsibility for international crimes committed before the withdrawal remains intact. The ICC continues to hold jurisdiction over such crimes, as demonstrated by its ongoing investigation into the deaths linked to Duterte’s policies. This case highlights significant challenges related to political sovereignty, while also raising critical questions about the tension between national autonomy and global justice

    The Relationship Between Parenting Style and Emotional Maturity of Adolescents from Single-Parent Families

    One form of family disharmony is the presence of a single parent, which often results from divorce. This condition can impact adolescent development, particularly emotional maturity. This study aims to examine the relationship between parenting style and emotional maturity among adolescents from single-parent families. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The participants consisted of 52 adolescents aged 12–18 years from single-parent families due to divorce. The instruments used were the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) to measure parenting style and the Emotional Maturity Scale (EMS) to assess emotional maturity. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between general parenting style and adolescents’ emotional maturity (r = 0.420; p = 0.001). However, no significant correlation was found between authoritarian or permissive parenting styles and emotional maturity. These findings suggest that certain parenting styles play an important role in shaping the emotional development of adolescents from single-parent families

    Optimization of Feature Extraction in Images Using Variants of Decomposition Algorithms

    This research aims to optimize the feature extraction process in digital images using two decomposition algorithms, namely Haar and Riyad. Feature extraction is an important step in digital image processing, used to extract significant information from images for applications such as pattern recognition, medical image analysis, and surveillance systems. Haar and Riyad algorithms are tested on three types of images: grayscale, color, and texture. Results show that Haar's algorithm excels in processing speed with an average time of 121.67 ms, making it ideal for real-time applications. In contrast, the Riyad algorithm showed higher feature detection accuracy, achieving an average of 93.33% on complex images, despite requiring a longer processing time of 154 ms. This research shows that the selection of a feature extraction algorithm should consider the type of image and the application needs. Haar's algorithm is suitable for real-time surveillance applications, while Riyad is more suitable for in-depth analysis such as on medical images. The significant contribution of this research is that it provides insight into the trade-off between speed and accuracy, and opens up opportunities to develop hybrid methods that combine the advantages of both algorithms to create more efficient and effective image processing solutions

    Android-based Detection of Melon Leaf Diseases Using Convolutional Neural Network and TensorFlow

    Melon productivity in Indonesia has experienced a significant decline due to leaf diseases, while manual detection performed by farmers remains subjective, time-consuming, and highly dependent on individual experience. To address this issue, this study aims to develop a mobile-based melon leaf disease detection system utilizing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture integrated into the Tani Cerdas Android application via the TensorFlow framework. The dataset consists of 250 images of melon leaves categorized into five classes: healthy, aphids, fusarium wilt, leaf caterpillars, and unknown. Data were collected from two different melon farms employing distinct cultivation methods and processed through the machine learning life cycle, including data cleaning, manual labeling using one-hot encoding, splitting into 80% training and 20% validation sets, model training, and performance evaluation. The CNN model was trained for 11 epochs using ReLU and Softmax activation functions and a dropout rate of 0.2 to reduce the risk of overfitting. Training results achieved an accuracy of 91.5% with a loss value of 0.313, while model validation reached 71.9% accuracy. The ROC-AUC evaluation indicated excellent classification performance in most classes (AUC 0.99–1.00), although performance in the fusarium wilt class remained lower (AUC 0.87). Deployment of the model into the Tani Cerdas application achieved an average field accuracy of 86.33%. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of CNN and TensorFlow integration in supporting rapid and independent detection of melon leaf diseases via mobile devices, offering potential for the development of similar systems for other horticultural commodities

    Reliability Analysis of the Circulating Water Pump Instrumentation System Using the FMEA Method at PT PLN Nusantara Power UP Tenayan

    PT PLN Nusantara Power UP Tenayan in Pekanbaru operates a power plant that relies on the Circulating Water Pump (CWP) as a vital part of the cooling system. Based on the results of field observations and interviews, failures in the CWP instrumentation system can cause downtime and reduce operating efficiency, but reliability studies are still limited. This study aims to analyze the reliability of the CWP instrumentation system using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. Data were obtained through field observations and technician interviews, then analyzed based on Severity, Occurrence, and Detection parameters. The analysis identified eight main components, with Risk Priority Number (RPN) values all below the 200 threshold. Based on the results of the FMEA calculation, the limit switch component has the highest RPN value of 160 with the potential for downtime reaching 2 to 3 hours per occurrence. The application of FMEA is proven effective to reduce the risk of failure by 25% based on estimated technical evaluation and failure history
