Of nature's light
Song cycle for mezzo-soprano and piano, duration 15 minutes. This work assembles poetry on a central theme of green spaces, rediscovered as a positive result of lockdown. Texts include those by Blake, DH Lawrence, Flecker, Arnold, Kipling, and Keats.
The world premiere was given on 1 July 2022 by Hannah Sandison (mezzo-soprano) and Lana Bode (piano) at Opera Holland Park, London

The Dr K. Sextet ran an international composition competition in the autumn of 2014, inviting composers to set any one of the poems used in Schönberg’s Brettl-Lieder for soprano and instruments featured in the Dr K. line-up: flutes, clarinets, percussion, piano, violin and cello.
