    For orchestra, duration 10 minutes. This piece was commissioned by the BBC for the opening concert of the Symphony Hall, Birmingham on 12 June 1991, where it was performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Rattle. The CBSO and Simon Rattle have also recorded the work (EMI Classics, 5 55091 2) see https://www.discogs.com/Mark-Anthony-Turnage-City-Of-Birmingham-Symphony-Orchestra-Ulrich-Heinen-Birmingham-Contemporary-Mus/release/6735111. Orchestras who have since performed this work include the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Creative Jazz Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Hertfordshire Philharmonica, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Ural State Philharmonic Orchestra.     For trombone and orchestra, duration 20 minutes. This work has three movements: I) Cut Up; II) A Soothing Interlude; III) Another Set To. The first movement is an adaptation of the seventh movement of Blood on the Floor (1994-95) (see https://researchonline.rcm.ac.uk/id/eprint/1960/); the central slow movement was newly composed, and the piece ends with the original Another Set To (see https://researchonline.rcm.ac.uk/id/eprint/1997/). Yet Another Set To was premiered on 19 March 2005 by Christian Lindberg (trombone) and the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop at the Royal Festival Hall, London. This performance was recorded (LPO Recordings, LPO–0007) see https://www.lpo.org.uk/recordings-and-gifts/24-cd-turnage-scherzoid-evening-songs-etc.html, and this recording is now available on YouTube, see the video tab below.
