The Relationship Between Integrative Self-Knowledge, Mindfulness, Self-Control, and Mental Health Parameters
Background: Self-regulating is a set of processes that controls or alters individuals’ behavior, emotion, and performance. We aimed to evaluate the relation between three components of self-regulating including integrative self-knowledge, mindfulness, self-control, and some variables of mental health and self-conscious emotions. Methods: A total of 233 Iranian university students voluntarily enrolled in the study. Seven questionnaire forms including Integrative Self-Knowledge Scale (ISKS), Attention Awareness Scale (MASS), Short Self Control Scale (SSCS), Costello & Comrey's Anxiety and Depression Scale, Rosenberg Self–Esteem Scale (RSES), Authentic Pride Scale (APS), and other as sham scale (OAS) were distributed to participants. The correlation between self-regulating variables, mental health, and self-conscious emotions were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient test. Results: We found a negative correlation between self-regulating variables, depression, and anxiety. Our data also revealed that self-esteem positively related to integrative self-knowledge, mindfulness, and self-control. Among self-conscious emotions variables, authentic pride had a positive correlation with self-regulating variables whereas feelings of shame appeared a negative relationship with them. Conclusion: Integrative self-knowledge, mindfulness, and self-control as self-regulating components correlated to mental health and self-conscious emotions

Desafíos educativos en ambientes virtuales: escuelas rurales y urbanas
The results of an investigation that investigated the perceptions and experiences of university students in urban and rural contexts are presented, in order to know how they live their education in a virtual mode under a pandemic context, considering three categories: pedagogical, material and emotional It was a qualitative study based on the phenomenological method, in-depth interviews and documentary analysis were applied. Twelve university students from rural areas and 15 from urban areas in the State of Chihuahua participated. The results indicate that in both contexts a deficient education was perceived, with traditional and boring teaching practices, with lower than expected learning and ineffective feedback and communication; low motivation and recurrent feelings of fear, sadness and hopelessness were presented. The greatest concern in urban contexts was the risk of contagion and social isolation, in rural the problems of connectivity and economic poverty. Regarding material resources, students in rural contexts had greater deficiencies, less than half had a computer and internet. On the other hand, it was found a development of technological skills and self-management of learning such as time and resource management, the organization of activities and the self-construction of knowledge. It is concluded that virtual education is developed under a traditional paradigm, which makes it necessary to strengthen not only access to technologies, but also to promote motivation, participation and interactions among students and transform passive practices through organized, flexible experiences with social impact, attitudinal and cognitive.
The work overload that teachers present in the current context is a risky situation, since it can generate prolonged states of stress causing a burnout syndrome and affecting their job satisfaction. The objective was to determine the significant relationship between job satisfaction and the components of burnout syndrome during confinement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The study had a cross-sectional correlational design. 205 teachers participated, who answered the Job Satisfaction Scale for Teachers (ESLA-Education) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). The results indicate a statistically significant inverse correlation between job satisfaction and the components of burnout syndrome: emotional exhaustion (rho =-.315; p = .000), depersonalization (rho =-.252; p = .000) and achievement personal (rho =-.254; p = .000). It is concluded that teachers who present high emotional fatigue, loss of sensitivity and empathy, deterioration of their abilities and a feeling of failure show job dissatisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to have protective factors to prevent emotional distress for teachers.
In-Class versus Out-of-Class Flipped Classroom Models in English as a Foreign Language Writing
A flipped classroom model is an indispensable part of the English as a foreign language (EFL) writing courses as it helps the instructor to advance the learners’ writing proficiency levels (Pavanelli, 2018). However, EFL students’ attitudes toward the in-class and out-of-class writing models in a flipped classroom process are unknown. Understanding these issues have a vital importance as these will help educators arrange their writing classes based on the flipped classroom models in order to have an effective writing course in line with EFL students’ needs (Abaeian & Samadi, 2016). Therefore, this study purposed to investigate the EFL students’ attitudes toward in-class and out-of-class writing models in a flipped classroom. A quantitative research design was employed through the use of a questionnaire which was employed to 30 EFL students studying at a private university’s English language teaching department. As the findings showed, although the EFL students had positive attitudes towards both flipped classroom models for writing, they preferred the out-of-class model and the majority of them stated that they prefer to produce their written work out-of-class settings. As a consequence of these, EFL educators should use an out-of-class flipped classroom model for writing, if they give priority to their EFL students’ attitudes towards the writing models on account of having an effective writing course
Impacto Psicológico del aislamiento social en estudiantes de una Universidad Pública de Lima
The Covid-19 pandemic is generating a great psychological impact on university students and the general population, with the family being an important social support element. The objective of this study was to characterize the psychological impact of social isolation in students of a Public University in Lima. The study employed anon-probabilistic sample of 3,960 students, between 16 and 40 years old, where 40.2%were men and 59.8% women. The Scales of Positive and Negative Emotions (PANAS) and Family Functionality-APGAR were applied. The results indicate that the psychological impact was reflected through positive emotions (alert, interested and attentive) and negative emotions (scared, upset and uneasy). It was also found that the family functioning in the context of confinement reflected that the evaluated shared the problems of the house, as well as spending time in the family. Finally, the correlation of family functioning with negative emotions was r= -.279 and with positive emotions was r= .321. It is concluded that university students have experienced emotions as a result of social isolation, in which having the f68mily as support is an important factor in situations of psychological impact, having to strengthen the orientation and regulation for negative emotions and pay attention to develop positive emotions.La pandemia del Covid-19 está generando un gran impacto psicológico en universitarios y la población general siendo la familia un elemento de soporte social importante. Provide a model to identify the effect of the occurrence of business cycles on financial uncertainty in the stock market Developed countries
The main purpose of this study is to provide a model to identify the effect of the occurrence of business cycles on financial uncertainty in the stock market of developed countries. This research is an experimental research and panel data has been used to test the hypothesis. The statistical population of the study is developed countries. We grouped the countries based on high per capita income according to the UN Human Development Report. Data were also collected from the World Bank and 21 developed countries were selected as the sample size. According to the results of coefficients of independent variables (financial leverage, interest rate, inflation, time, recessionary business cycles and boom business cycles) which are all significant, ie their P-VALUE is less than 0.05, so we can conclude a significant effect. On financial uncertainty (variance of S&P index growth rate). Also, considering that the coefficient of determination of the regression model (R2) is equal to 0.984 and is close to the number one, that is, the Fisher test (F) is significant (its probability is less than 0.05), so the regression model is justifiable and acceptable. Hypothesis H0 is therefore rejected and Hypothesis H1 is accepted with 95% probability, or in other words, business cycles have a significant effect on financial uncertainty in the stock market of developed countries
Covid-19 Lockdown Challenges or New Era for Higher Education
The COVID-19 lockdown caused hard time for higher education: unexpected shift to online. This research was conducted among 50 first-year Bachelor’s Degree students and 50 first-year Master’s Degree students of the Faculty of Economics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The objective of the study was to identify the challenges that each focus group faced and students’ satisfaction rate in education under lockdown. Quantitative methods were used for collecting data and Excel tools for processing the results The findings demonstrated relatively average satisfaction rate among the 1st-year Bachelor level students due to a number of factors: lack of self-study skills, lack of background, lack of experience. However, 1st-year Master level students demonstrated relatively high satisfaction rate. The reason for this is that they are quite experienced and competent, therefore, they require less facilitation from the professors, their background knowledge is enough to allow them to search the necessary data in the Internet, their analytical and reasoning skills are developed enough to let them process obtained information, critically evaluate it and produce reasonable conclusions. The findings of this research allow to assume that after lockdown it might be worth reconsidering the format of learning for Master’s Degree Programs and shift from conventional face-to-face learning to blended or even distance learning
