La figura del chiasmo nelle lettere di Hölderlin
This essay contends that the figure of speech chiasmus plays a central role in Hölderlin’s oeuvre, not only stylistically but also as a form of organizing thoughts. Evidence is given through some examples taken from the poet’s letters. Thus, the presence of recurring elements in Hölderlin’s epistolary style, irrespective of obvious adjustments to circumstances and addressees, can be seen as the starting point for new insights into the poet’s thinking and writing

Hölderlins Brief an Leo von Seckendorf vom 12. März 1804 als poetisches Programm
This paper presents Hölderlin’s letter to Seckendorf of 12th March 1804 and links it both to his biography and to his poetry. The poet considers the idea of the picturesque and confirms a concept of art and poetry which prefers order, geometry and balance between earth and sky instead of variety, irregularity and roughness, characteristics of the picturesque; he considers the world as a system and a heavenly construction («Architektonik des Himmels»). The poet underlines then that his focus is now on the national element, in his difference from the Greeks, on «the study of the fatherland» and particularly on the destiny of «heroes, knights and princes» («Heroen, Ritter und Fürsten»). This short but complex letter results as a poetry program that Hölderlin will only partially realize in his late fragments
Das Dritte Reich. Die diskursive Sakralisierung in der NS-Propagandadichtung von Heinrich Anacker: [The Third Reich. Discursive Sacralization in the NS Propaganda Poetry of Heinrich Anacker]
The main focus of this essay is the discursive analysis of “Reich” as an article of faith in the poetry volume Die Fanfare. Gedichte der deutschen Erhebung by Heinrich Anacker (1901-1971). Looking back to the original theological foundation of the concept “Third Reich” in connection with the debate about whether National Socialism could be considered as a political religion, “Reich” is described as a possible article of faith of the Nazi creed. In Anacker’s National Socialist biased propaganda poetry, “Reich” appears, in fact, as a sacred and even as a quasi-religious entity
Dichtungs-, Kunst- und Künstlertheorie in Ferdinand von Saars lyrischem und erzählerischem Werk: [The Theory of Poetry, Art, and the Artist in Ferdinand von Saar’s Lyrical and Narrative Work]
This essay deals with the implicit poetical annotations and thoughts in some lyrical and narrative works of Ferdinand von Saar. His theoretical statements about art, literature or the position of artists and writers in modern society are few in number. So it is important to search in his literary works for some indication of his attitude towards poetical theory. This paper includes poems and so-called artist novels, like Für den Leiermann, Tambi and Sühnefall. These texts demonstrate the liminal position of Ferdinand von Saar between tradition and modernity and his own theoretical reflections about it

Die Wiederkehr des Antiken in der Erzählung. Max Weber und Robert Musil: [The Return of Antiquity in Narrative Literature. Max Weber and Robert Musil]
Max Weber and Robert Musil have shared interests, not only in analyzing the “modern world”. With contemporary philosophy having apparently become merely academic, and narration losing plausibility in history as well as in literature, they both choose the way of essayistic writing in order to substantiate their views. And in their search for a foundation they both go back to ancient philosophy, Weber to Plato and Musil to Plotinus
La ricezione produttiva contemporanea di Hölderlin: La performance poetico-biografica di Andrea Balzola (2012) e il film sperimentale «Hyperion» di Maria Giovanna Cicciari (2014)
This article examines Andrea Balzola’s cross-media performance Le voci del vulcano (2012), which is a computer based interactive video installation dedicated to Friedrich Hölderlin, and Maria Giovanna Cicciari’s Hyperion (2014), an experimental film inspired by the name-sake German novel, as exemplary documents of the productive reception of Hölderlin’s life and work in Italy today
