    Indonesia Port Corporation I (PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero)) or PT. Pelindo I is one of the Indonesian state-owned enterprises which manages port services in western Indonesia. Shipyard unit (Unit Galangan Kapal (UGK)) is a branch of PT. Pelindo I. At present, a problem arises if more than 2 ships are being repaired at once in the unit, UGK scheduling overlaps the repairing activities. In order to solve the problem, study of human factor is important. Human factor is the study of the limitations, capabilities, and human behavior, as well as its interaction with the product, environment, equipment and the establishment of tasks and activities. One part of the human factor is the human factor in system design. In order to improve the effectiveness of the system, the human factor must be involved in each phase of the design process in the system design. This includes a number of activities to obtain input specification work, therefore the working methods and the optimal amount of labor can be determined. Human factors engineering is the application of science that utilizes research on the human factor and use the basic knowledge to design, to repair and to install the system. This research method is causal, searching for the causes which led to delays in the completion of ship repairing. Through human factor engineering approach to the allocation of labor increased by 12.23 per cent of the actual conditions, so that the delay of ship repair were not found during normal conditions

    This study examines the quality level of service in one of the telecommunication operator (mobile network provider) in Makassar. This paper focuses on the identification of the gaps, mapping quality level of service, and the evaluation of the service quality level. The study was conducted using SERVQUAL approach which refers to the five dimensions of service quality. SERVQUAL is helpful in identifying, mapping, and analyzing the gap level between expectations and perceptions of a telecommunication service. Questionnaires were randomly distributed to the 400 respondents’ mobile telecommunication users in Makassar. The results show that there were 10 negative attributes on the SERVQUAL value of 15 questions. This indicates that the service quality to the users is at the low level. For mapping and prioritization of services related attributes that need to be improved, this study used the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) diagram. The first quadrant indicates a high level of customer expectations relative to those attributes but on the perception remains low. The first quadrant is a mapping attribute which is prioritized in the improvement of service quality related to the reliability dimensions i.e the improvement of network quality, network expansion, and the affordable cost of access (Internet, telephone, and SMS)

Production activities done manually and many hazards foundthroughout overall processes. The aime of this research is finding prediction model of safetywork behavior as the response by analyzing factors which influence safety work behaviorsignificantly. Observation executed by 80 respondents, the model used multivariate linierregression. The result obtained that knowledge variabel and protective personal equipmentare significant. Meanwhile, perception and communication are not significant. Finally, modelof safety work behavior found two variables such worker’s knowledge and protectivepersonal equipment which determination coeficient of model is 15.9%

Sufficient light is one of the most important aspects that determine the health of the eye, excellent lighting intensity affects the eyes. This study was performed at PT Pertamina RU VI Balongan, based on observation in the work area, it is necessary to evaluate the intensity of light and eye strain workers in a unit of PT. Pertamina Refinery Unit VI Balongan.Be collected from primary and secondary data and processing in the form of statistical testing using Microsoft Excel and SPSS Software 2.0. Tests conducted on four types of questionnaires and data variables intensity lighting in the office area of HSE unit RU VI Balongan.There are 12 rooms which have the following illumination standard (under 300 lux). Based on a statistical test between the variable quality of the lighting of the eye complaints get results there are two variables that have a relationship. In addition, all respondents had complaints of eye fatigue that varies with the highest percentage of 80% with complaints of eye feel sleepy and 63% of workers feel pain in the neck or shoulder

    PT. X is an authorized dealer and service provider of a reputable car product that provides sales and maintenance services. Total number of counters and stalls owned by PT. X cannot be considered optimal based on the number of cars that will be serviced. Long queues cause customers postponinge the maintenance service and reschedule them to another day. The purpose of this study is to analyze the queue characteristic of the simulation results in the service counters and to design improvement of the scenarios. The study was conducted to implement a simulation model on a service system in order to determine an optimal number of service stations which is appropriate with the waiting time that has been targeted by the company. The analysis of the scenario carried out refers to the target that needs to be achieved by the company that is 15 minutes waiting time to call by counter and 120 minutes waiting time to service. Based on the possibilities occurred, there are 11 proposed improvement scenarios that can be applied in the company. The results from the analysis stated that scenario No. 8 that add two counters and two maintanance stalls in the service station has average waiting time which closed with targeted time set by the company. Therefore, scenario No. 8 is chosen as a proposed improvement actiion. By implementing this scenario it is expected that average waiting time to call by a counter is only on 16,845 minutes on Thursday and the average waiting time to service is only 124,63 minutes on Wednesday

    Industrial competition in Indonesia is getting strict. One of the important factor to win this competition is the quality level of the product produced. Production process in PT. Sparta Guna Sentosa generally produces defect products. Part that generate most of the defect products is Boss Drive Face K44F which the demand of this part for each period is high enough. Hence, the quality control using the Six Sigma method is needed to decrease the defect products. The Six Sigma is a method to analyzes the problem with DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). The results showed that the main defect that  will be priority of problem solving is the length which is below the specifications about 40 ~ 40.01 mm and then the solution of problem is designed

    Rapid technological developments helped bring an increase in the level of business competition. Competitive business strategies required to address the challenges of business competition. PT P&P Lembah Karet is a company engaged in the plantation and crumb rubber processing industry. Marketing area is scattered inside and outside the country led to the supply chain performance become one of the important issues in the company. The use of Lean and Green concept in the supply chain system can become a competitive advantage for PT. P&P Lembah Karet to create a more effective and efficient supply chain strategy in terms of expenditure and environmental impact. Performance measurement is required to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of these two concepts implementation in the supply chain companies. Performance measurement system was developed based on four perspectives of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC): financial, customer, internal business processes, learning and growth. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) which is used as a measurement basis is formulated through the concept of lean and green. The weight value of each KPI is determined using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with relevant experts as respondents. Respondents selected based on the experience and knowledge, especially experience and knowledge that relevant with the topic of this research. The weight value determined the order of KPI priority. Face validity is used to validate the performance measurement model. Data processing and analysis yielded 25 lean and green-based KPIs that are relevant to crumb rubber supply chain at PT. P&P Lembah Karet with 3 KPI for financial perspective, 4 KPI for customer perspective, 11 KPI for internal business process perspective and 7 KPI for learning and growth perspective. The structure of designed models showed that customer perspective is the most priority aspects

    Production process of power pole involves connected production process flow between machines. Thus, the company must ensure the machine availability during production runs. PT Kunango Jantan as a company that produces pole power also considers machine availability. The level of machine availability can be seen from the high level of machine reliability. However, the company is still not been able to guarantee the availability of the machine so it is necessary to study the reliability of the system to help to take the right policy in handling pipe production machinery maintenance. The first step is to determine the distribution of machine damage. Minitab 16 software was used determine the type of distribution and distribution parameters of each machine damage. In addition, mean time between failure (MTBF) was calculated to the pipe manufacturing machine. The machine reliability was obtained based on a formula and parameters. The determination of the system reliability was derived from the block diagram in accordance with the condition of machines in the field. The analysis was performed using fishbone diagram to propose an attempt to increase the machine reliability. The results of this study indicate that the machine reliability in good level since the reliability value is between 0.901 to 1.000. The machine reliability in a series circuit is smaller than the machine reliability in a parallel circuit. Rs and R values of the system were 0.980 and 0.998. R system shows that the system has a good performance with a chance of machine damage during production <0.002 (0.2%). &nbsp
