    Transformational Leadership of School Principals in Fostering Student Independence at Vocational High Schools in Oku Timur

    Phenomenon/Issue: The education sector faces the challenge of fostering not only academic excellence but also essential life skills, particularly independence. This study addresses the pressing issue of vocational high school (SMK) graduates in Indonesia, who often struggle with adaptation to the workforce and possess inadequate entrepreneurial skills. The research investigates the transformational leadership role of school principals in promoting student independence within Eastern OKU Regency's vocational schools. Purpose: The primary purpose of this study is to explore how principals' transformational leadership can effectively contribute to developing independent, responsible, and decision-making students. This research presents a novel perspective by directly linking transformational leadership practices to student independence, particularly in the context of vocational education, a relatively underexplored area. Novelty: This research has novelty in directly linking transformational leadership practices with aspects of student independence in the context of vocational education. In addition to making theoretical contributions to the development of educational leadership science, this research also offers a contextual approach that is relevant to the dynamics of education in the region. Research Methods: Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study integrates qualitative interviews with school principals and quantitative surveys from students to gather comprehensive data on leadership impacts on student character development. Research Contributions: The contributions of this research are multifaceted. Practically, it offers actionable insights for school principals to enhance their leadership strategies in fostering student independence. The findings are also intended to inform educational policymakers and curriculum developers, promoting responsive vocational education policies that align with contemporary labor market demand

    The Influence of Digital Literacy, Teaching Experiences, Teaching Professional Perception, and Self-Efficacy as Mediating on Professional Competence as Prospective Teacher

    Phenomenon/Issue: The professional competence of prospective teachers in Indonesia remains below standards, as evidenced by low Teacher Competency Test (TCT) scores. Despite various training programs, many teacher candidates still struggle with essential teaching competencies, particularly in adapting to digital education and developing professional confidence. Purpose: This study examines how teaching experience, digital literacy, and teaching professional perception influence professional competence among teacher candidates, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. It aims to identify key factors that can enhance teacher preparation programs. Novelty: This research innovatively integrates four crucial variables in teacher development and employs self-efficacy as a mediator, offering new insights into the psychological mechanisms behind professional competence formation. Research Methods: Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis, data were collected through online questionnaires from 131 Office Administration Education students at Universitas Negeri Semarang. Results: All three independent variables significantly affected professional competence both directly and through self-efficacy mediation. Teaching experience showed the most substantial impact (β=0.37, p<0.01), followed by digital literacy (β=0.29, p<0.01) and positive teaching professional perception (β=0.24, p<0.05). Self-efficacy accounted for 32% of the variance in professional competence. Research Contributions: The study provides empirical evidence for improving teacher education programs by emphasizing practical teaching experience, digital skills development, and positive professional socialization. It demonstrates how self-efficacy serves as a crucial psychological bridge between external factors and professional competence development

    Phenomenon/Issue: This study examines the phenomenon of online business readiness among students, which is increasingly important in today's digital age. With the rapid development of technology and the internet, it is important for students to have adequate skills in running an online business. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence students' readiness to engage in online entrepreneurship, as well as to provide insights into how education can support the development of these skills. Novelty: This study offers a new framework that combines TAM Theory and business learning innovation as determinants of student online business performance. In addition, the mediating variable Attitude Toward Using provides a new perspective in understanding how attitudes toward technology can strengthen the relationship between these factors and online business readiness. Research Methods: This study uses explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The research population consists of students from public and private universities in East Java. Results: The results show that students are well prepared to engage in online business, with high scores in technological capabilities and network support. However, challenges remain, particularly in terms of business experience and access to capital.     Phenomenon/Issue: This study explores the effectiveness of discipline, independence, and peers in optimizing learning outcomes, especially in the basic subject of the skills program on digital-based document material. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of learning discipline, learning independence, and peers on learning outcomes, learning motivation as a mediating variable in class X students of SMK PGRI 2 Taman Pemalang. Novelty: This study uniquely incorporates learning motivation as a mediator within the framework of discipline, independence, and peers on learning outcomes and offers new insights for education and future research. Research Methods: Data were collected from 141 students of class X majoring in office management and business services at SMK PGRI 2 Taman Pemalang through questionnaires, learning outcomes tests using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine the relationship between discipline, independence, and peer to learning outcomes through learning motivation. Results: The results showed that learning discipline, learning independence, and peer influence had a positive and significant effect directly on learning outcomes. In addition, these three factors also have a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. Learning motivation acts as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between learning discipline, learning independence, and peer influence on learning outcomes. Research Contributions: This research deepens the theoretical understanding of learning discipline, learning independence and peer influence in educational contexts and provides a practical framework for motivation-focused learning strategies to improve student learning outcomes. The findings can guide policymakers and educators in designing learning processes that meet students' academic and motivational need

    Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate how teacher leadership, through the Teacher Mover program, influences educational outcomes in elementary schools. The study seeks to understand the relationships between teacher leadership, professional development, school culture, emotional intelligence, and student-centered leadership, and how these factors collectively contribute to improved student performance and engagement. Novelty: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the Teacher Mover program, a leadership initiative unique to the Indonesian educational context. It offers new insights into how emotional intelligence and professional development mediate the effects of teacher leadership on school culture and student outcomes, which are often underexplored in similar educational leadership studies. Research Methods: This qualitative study used in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis to collect data from Teacher Movers, principals, and teachers at selected elementary schools. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, with NVivo software used to organize emerging patterns. Results: The findings indicate that teacher leadership significantly improves educational outcomes by fostering a collaborative school culture, enhancing teacher efficacy through professional development, and promoting student-centered approaches. Emotional intelligence was found to be crucial in navigating leadership challenges and fostering positive relationships. Research Contributions: This research offers practical recommendations for educational leaders by highlighting the importance of teacher leadership, professional development, and emotional intelligence in school improvement.     The Influence of Entrepreneurial Education on Entrepreneurial Interest Among Students Mediated by Social Media

    Phenomenon/Issue: As the population increases, it will create new problems in Indonesia.   Purpose: This research aims to determine the effect of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial interest among students, mediated by social media.   Novelty: social media as a mediating variable between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial interest   Research Methods: This research uses a quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The population in this study consists of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Surabaya State University, specifically from the Study Programs of Economic Education, Accounting Education, Office Administration Education, and Business Education, with a research sample of 232 respondents. Data analysis techniques using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the Smart-PLS4 tool. The testing model in this study includes outer model testing, inner model testing, and hypothesis testing.   Results: The research results indicate that: (1) entrepreneurial education has a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest, (2) entrepreneurial education has a positive and significant effect on social media, (3) social media has an insignifikcant effect in mediating the relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial interest, this the third hypothesis is rejected.   Research Contributions: The research results are expected to serve as a reference for future studies and can be developed on a broader scal

    Influence of Typing Master, Learning Motivation, and Peer Influence on Keyboarding Skills of Office Administration Students 2020 at UNNES

    Phenomenon/Issue: Keyboarding is a key competency that students of Office Administration Education must possess. However, based on the results of typing tests, many students struggle to type using the ten-finger technique. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the Typing Master media, learning motivation, and peer influence on the keyboarding skills of 6th semester Office Administration Education students. Novelty: This research presents novelty by combining internal, technological, and social aspects in a post-pandemic context, providing a new perspective on learning office skills. Research Methods: This study uses a quantitative research approach. The sampling technique used is total sampling, meaning the entire population was used as the research sample. Data collection was conducted through observation, questionnaires, and typing tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression with SPSS Statistics 28 software. Results: The results show that the usage of typing master has a positive and significant effect on keyboarding skills by 39.69%. Learning motivation also has a positive and significant impact at 65.28%. Peer influence has no significant effect. Together, typing master, learning motivation, and peer influence have a collective effect on keyboarding skills, as shown by a simultaneous determination coefficient of 66%. Research Contributions: This study contributes to several parties. For students, it raises awareness of the importance of motivation, learning media, and peer support in improving typing skills. For future researchers, it offers a reference for further studies

    Phenomenon/Issue: The Fourth Industrial Revolution requires employees to adapt rapidly to technological changes, shifting from manual to digital work environments Purpose: To analyze the influence of digital competence on employee agility through task autonomy, based on the Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA) Novelty: The integration of digital competence and task autonomy within the framework of TWA to explain employee agility—a relatively unexplored relationship in the context of administrative staff in higher education institutions Research Methods: Explanatory quantitative approach using questionnaires distributed to 146 administrative staff at the State University of Surabaya. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling). Results: The study found that digital competence significantly enhances employee agility. It also positively influences task autonomy, which in turn has a significant impact on employee agility. Moreover, task autonomy effectively mediates the relationship between digital competence and employee agility, highlighting its crucial role in supporting employees' adaptability in a digital work environment Research Contributions: Provides empirical support for the importance of enhancing digital competence and task autonomy to improve employee agility in response to digital transformation, particularly within the context of public university administration in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolutio

    Implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching in Indonesian Primary Schools: Challenges and Opportunities

    Phenomenon/Issue: Indonesia’s cultural diversity presents challenges for implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in primary schools, where a standardized curriculum often limits the inclusion of students' cultural backgrounds. Purpose: This study aims to explore the understanding, practices, and challenges faced by teachers in implementing CRT in Indonesian primary schools and to identify opportunities for improvement. Novelty: While CRT has been widely studied in Western contexts, research on its application in Indonesia’s unique multicultural setting is limited, particularly at the primary school level. This study contributes new insights into how CRT can be adapted and applied in Indonesian classrooms. Research Methods: A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and focus group discussions with students from both urban and rural schools. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The study found that while teachers recognize the importance of CRT, they face significant challenges, including a rigid national curriculum, lack of culturally relevant materials, and insufficient training. However, students respond positively to culturally inclusive practices, and teachers are open to further training and resources
