UPAYA PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR IPS MELALUI PENDEKATAN LEARNING COMMUNITY DI SMP NEGERI 2, BANDA ACEH
In the process of learning, is often found a tendency to minimize the participation of students in the class. The dominance of the teacher in the learning process leads to the tendency of students become more passive. In the implementation, assessing the learning process of the subject of Social Sciences is boredom because of its monotonous and expository presentation so that students are less enthusiastic, resulting of less interesting in the subjects. Having observed this classroom situation, it is necessary to think about ways of presenting and learning atmospheres. The suitable learning process of social sciences subject for students is that the learning community based model. This learning focuses on the processes and interactions in the social context. Interaction and social process should be a concern in achieving the learning objectives.Learning community based model is a concept of the creation of learning communities in schools, the learning process between teachers and teachers, teachers and students, students with students, and even among the school communities with the community outside the school, so that the student achievement can be improved. This design of this study was based on the classroom action research at the Junior High School, SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. The study found that the learning community based model has improved student learning outcomes in both first and the second cycles. Thus, the learning community based model was found to be a suitable way of improving students achievement in learning the subject of social sciences at the SMP Negeri 2, Banda Aceh
PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MAHASISWA DALAM MENDESAIN DAN MENGEMBANGKAN ALAT PERMAINAN EDUKATIF (APE) MELALUI LESSON STUDY PADA MATA KULIAH TEKNOLOGI PEMBELAJARAN ANAK USIA DINI (AUD)
This study aims to evaluate the ways to improve students' ability in designing and developing an Educational Game Equipment (EGE) and increasing the activity of students in the subject of Early Childhood Learning Technology (CLT). This research is the action research based on the lesson study model. In conducting the research, researcher assisted by colleagues to plan and conduct lectures for twice action study in order to improve students' ability in designing and developing the EGE and increasing the activity of the students in the instructional technology training courses of CLT. Data of the study were gathered from observation and questionnaires, which then was analyzed using the analysis of the average. The sample of the study was 34 students of Teacher Education-ECD, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University who were taking the courses of CLT Learning Technology at the second semester of academic year 2014/2015. Students were divided into 5 groups, resulting in product 5 EGE. The result showed that the activity of students in cycle 1 were in the very good category with the average score of 4.2 and the second cycle were in the very good category as well with the average score of 4.25. As for media design data of CLT, the result was in the category of very good with the average score of 4.5. Finally, in designing the APE, the study found the average score of 3.5, which was in the category of good

Knowledge is something that is very vital in human life, especially in building the civilization of a nation. This study focuses its analysis on how the concept of knowledge and its worldview both from the perspectives of the West and Islam. The results showed that knowledge in the West is a rational idea constructed by individuals based on the empirical experience. The characteristics of knowledge in the perspective of the West is a systematic, objective, general, reliable, and communal. Furthermore, Western knowledge derived from reason and the senses and therefore contributes to the truth that is both realism and idealism that Western knowledge of truth because truth is relative to current knowledge can be aborted by the truth of the knowledge that comes next if deemed no longer relevant. While knowledge in Islam are referred to as "al-ilm", meaning the arrival of an active life and creative on the meaning of something that comes from God resulting in truth and reality through the senses, reason and scientific activity. As for the sources of knowledge in Islam there are two; the source of divine and human sources. Divine source consists of three parts; al-Qur'an, al-Sunnah, and intuition (inspiration). While human resources are divided into two; senses and minds. Because the sources of knowledge in Islam are various, then the truth is generated also vary and stratified, i.e., the absolute truth (al-Qur'an), the truth of the original and authentic, but has dual implications (al-Sunnah and inspiration), and truth chances are still open to debate (mind and the senses). Comparison between the Western and Islamic knowledge have an impact on the overall concept of knowledge are summarized in different characters. Western knowledge has the character to be skeptical, rational-empirical, dichotomous, positivistic-objective, and is antimetafisika. OPTIMALISASI ANGGARAN PENDAPATAN DAN BIAYA SEKOLAH: KAJIAN DI SEKOLAH KOTA BANDA ACEH
In highly competitive era in the educational sector, the performance of private education unit manager, especially in terms of the quality of revenue and financing management process should be realized according to the plan to support the achievement of the expected goals. Therefore, all schools in Banda Aceh, as the manager it is necessary to measure the optimal level of school budget and revenues that have a functional planning, execution, control and supervision. Budget surplus was a dominant issue. This study focusses its analysis on the issues of schools budget in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The study found that the performance of schools budget and revenues was not functioning optimally. Using the diagram method, this study then identified the causes of suboptimal performance, also undertake a review of policies of financing managemnet that already exist to seek improvements to optimize performance. By minimizing the causes that exist and by using the principles of Kaizen, which repairs, are carried out continuously and showed an increase in the performance of budget and revenues who proved the use costs of less than the plan during the empirical test period. By optimizing the performance of budget and revenues is very supportive for the school manager in Banda Aceh in formulating policies to achieve the desired goals
MENUJU PENDIDIKAN ACEH YANG BERBASIS ENTREPRENEURSHIP
This article is aimed at discussing descriptively the important role of educational institution in Aceh in producing the entrepreneurial-minded graduates. Limitations of jobs available for graduates of educational institutions, especially in Aceh require educational institutions to be able to produce the graduates who can create employment opportunities, rather than seize the existing jobs offered by the government and private agencies. A formal and an informal entrepreneurship-based education are believed to be able to offer alternative solutions to create job oppotunities, and in turns will solve economic problems of Aceh by boosting economic growth and enhancing welfare of the people of Aceh. In order to create the entrepreneurship education become more effective and be able to produce young entrepreneurs in Aceh, the educational institutions there should reformulate curriculum-based entrepreneurship, enhance the cooperation and partnerships with the private sector, and attract more supports from the government and public sector. PENGARUH PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN DAN BELIEF TENTANG IPA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN IPA
This study explores the influence of learning approach and belief in the ability of reasoning of natural sciences subject at the secondary schools in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This study uses experimental method to design treatment by level 2 x 2. The population of the study is all students of secondary schools in Tanjung Priok subdistrict, Jakarta during study years of 2012-2013. The sample of the study is all students of SMPN 140 Jakarta. Sampling was selected using Multi Stage Random Sampling in order to obtain a sample of 40 students. Research hypotheses were tested using the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study found that; (1) reasoning ability in the group of students who were given the approach of Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) is higher than the reasoning ability groups of students were given the conventional approach in the subject of natural sciences, (2) there is an interaction effect between learning approach and belief in the ability of reasoning, (3) the ability of reasoning group of students who were given a higher VAK approach of a group of students who were given conventional approach to groups of students who have a high belief, and (4) the ability of reasoning groups of students were given lower VAK approach of a group of students who given the conventional approach to groups of students who have a low belief. The finding of this study would be beneficial for science teachers and for teachers of other subjects in general to implement VAK approach in enhancing and improving the reasoning ability of student in the subject of natural science
PENGELUARAN PEMERINTAH DAN PENDAPATAN TERHADAP PEMBANGUNAN PENDIDIKAN DI ACEH
This study aimed to analyze the effect of government spending on education and per-capita income to the development of education in the province of Aceh by using panel data. The literacy rate, enrollment rate of primary and secondary schools were utilised to measure the development of education sector as the dependent variable, while public spending on the education sector and per-capita income were used as the independent variables. This study covers 23 districts/cities in Aceh province over a period of years 2008-2012. Based on the Random Effect Model of panel data analysis, the study documented that the government spending on eduaction and percapita income positively and significantly impacted the literacy rate. However, the government spending on the education sector did not significantly influence the enrollment rate of primary school, junior high school, and senior high school. Although the percapita income have no significant impact to the primary school enrollment rate and junior high school, but it has an effect on the enrollment rate of senior high school. ANALISIS PENGARUH IKLIM LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SANTRI DAYAH BERBASIS LONG- LIFE LEARNING DI ACEH
Penelitian ini mengalisis dampak iklim lingkungan dayah (pesantren) terhadap motivasi, sikap, dan nilai pembelajaran long-life learning (pembelajaran sepanjang hayat) para santri pada dayah di Aceh. Untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian ini, pembelajaran teori Albert Bandura telah diadopsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode qualitative-descriptive. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling dengan mengadakan depth interview dan datanya dianalisis dengan pengkodean (coding) dan triangulation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa iklim lingkungan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi, sikap dan nilai pembelajaran long-life learning para santri. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa terdapat dua jenis motivasi belajar santri, yaitu bentuk motivasi horizontal dan motivasi vertical. PERAN MUSYAWARAH GURU MATA PELAJARAN PENJAKES DALAM PENYUSUNAN RENCANA PELAKSANAAN PEMBELAJARAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) DI SMP NEGERI DAN SWASTA KOTA BANDA ACEH
Peningkatan mutu pembelajaran di sekolah sangat tergantung pada peran guru dalam proses belajar mengajar di sekolah. Guru sebagai pengajar berperan aktif dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan pembelajaran dan mempersiapkan kelengkapan administrasi guru. Kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran sangat penting, kemampuan guru dalam menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dalam pelaksanaan Proses Belajar Mengajar sangat dibutuhkan guna meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Fokus penelitian adalah terkait dengan penggunaan model Problem Based Learning dalam Musyawarh Guru Mata Pelajaran untuk kalangan guru Penjakes di SMP Negeri dan Swasta Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan. Setiap pertemuan terdiri dari empat tahap kegiatan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah guru SMP Negeri dan Swasta Kota Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 20 guru terdiri dari 12 guru laki-laki dan 8 guru perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3(dua) bulan yaitu bulan Januari sampai Maret 2014. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa melalui pembinaan model PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun RPP dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di SMP Negeri dan Swasta Kota Banda Ace
PROBLEMATIKA KURIKULUM 2013 DAN KEPEMIMPINAN INSTRUKSIONAL KEPALA SEKOLAH
Sejak kemerdekaan 1945, Indonesia telah mengalami sebelas kali perubahan kurikulum. Perubahan kurikulum, antara lain, bertujuan untuk menyesuaikan kurikulum pendidikan dengan perkembangan masyarakat, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Namun, setiap kali perubahan kurikulum dilakukan, selalu saja disambut pro dan kontra. Kurikulum 2013 menuai banyak kritik dan protes. Kritik dan protes datang dari berbagai kalangan menyangkut isi dan kemasan kurikulum, kesiapan guru dan lain-lain. Tulisan ini mencoba memberikan salah satu solusi terhadap masalah-masalah implementasi kurikulum 2013. Kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah direkomendasikan menjadi salah satu solusi bagi efektivitas implementasi kurikulum 2013. Kepemimpinan instruksional merupakan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang memprioritaskan belajar-mengajar dalam kepemimpinanya.
