    The Ability of Prospective Preservice Elementary School Teachers to Develop Student Worksheets on Context-Based Science Learning

    The use of student worksheets (LKS, Lembar Kerja Siswa) can assist teachers in developing and implementing the learning process in the classroom. Prospective elementary school teachers need to be equipped with the ability to develop innovative LKS so that they can be used for learning process. This study aims to identify the ability of prospective elementary school teachers in developing worksheets on context-based science learning through debriefing programs. The stages of the debriefing program consist of: giving initial assignments and understanding, implementing design, and workshops, reviewing/reflecting the design results (group discussions and presentations), and making improvement. This debriefing program was attended by 80 college students from preservice elementary school teacher level four at one university in the West Java region, Indonesia. LKS products before and after debriefing are described based on several aspects and then analyzed to determine the effect of the debriefing program on improving college students' ability in developing LKS. The results show that the debriefing program can lead to the college students' ability to develop LKS on context-based science learning. The improved ability is related to: clarity in the use of written language, concept stages, context use, showing the authenticity of the task and the use of learning media

    Pengembangan Aplikasi Berbasis Multimedia pada Pembelajaran Tematik Kelas III Sekolah Dasar

    The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility and practicality of multimedia-based products on thematic learning of earth change subtheme. This research was conducted on the third-grade students of Elementary School with a total number of 156 students as the respondents. This research used research development (R D) design of Dick, Carey and Carey model. To see the effectiveness of the product developed by the group field test with 150 students. Result of t-test analysis showed tvalue = -8.97 ttable = - 1.962 at significance level α = 0,05. There was a significant difference between the pre-test 53.56 post-test 67.71 and the difference of 15.15. These results showed that multimedia developed effectively used in thematic learning. The results of student responses showed an average score of 79.75%. Response analysis results can be interpreted that multimedia-based applications are worth it to apply

    Elementary school teacher candidates should be able to develop good teaching materials based on student’s age they teach. In fact, it is frequently found that elementary school teacher candidates write their papers only by copying from books or the internet. It is rarely found that they are able to develop and synthesize the materials they cited with their own vocabulary in their paper. The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of using the Fry graph formula in analyzing the legibility of materials of PGSD students works which is made for elementary school teaching materials. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The results of the data analysis revealed student discourse that is not appropriate because of the lower level of legibility is 4 discourses (13.33%), which appropriate to its legibility is 8 discourses (26.67%), and those that are not appropriate because the higher level of legibility is 18 discourses (60%)

    Religious Songs on Youtube: The Impact on Students

    Beginning in 2018 Indonesian people are treated to religious songs from Sabyan Gambus group whose vocalist Nissa Sabyan. The songs sung by Nissa Sabyan echoed almost in every layer of the society. One of the media that made it easy for people  to enjoy various songs from several Nissa Sabyan albums is YouTube. This paper was aimed to analyze the YouTube's role of students' religious dimension. The method used in this research is a survey with a qualitative approach. The survey was conducted on 147 students. The results of the study prove that YouTube as an Internet-based audio-visual media is an effective medium for spreading religious nuances. The majority of students feel to be religious by listening to Nissa Sabyan's songs, even though they don't understand the contents of the lyrics. Thus, it can be concluded that YouTube has a significant  role in fostering a religious sense of students

    Cases of bullying among elementary school students are high. Therefore, it needs to get attention. This study reveals an indication of physical bullying that occurs in elementary students and its implications for moral education according to the guidance of Religion. The method used is survey and literature study with the qualitative approach. Participants involved a number of 55 elementary school teachers in Cirebon district and the city of Cirebon. The results showed that: 1) almost half of the physical bullying indication occurred in primary school with the highest percentage is in punching and pinching behavior, while the smallest percentage is strangling behavior; 2) moral education can be a therapy to change the bad behavior of physical bullying and can be used as a preventive effort

    Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Lokal Kasundaan Berbasis Kebijakan SPBS di Kabupaten Sumedang Jawa Barat

    This study aims to analyze the implementation of policy on kasundaan character education based on Sumedang Regent regulation about Sumedang Puseur Budaya Sunda (SPBS). The method used was a survey to the elementary school students, which was completed with interviews and FGD. The results of the study found that: (1) SPBS was only instructed in the "SKPD" environment only in the form of Thursday using kasumedangan dress and Sundanese language, (2) no education design of kasundaan characters in elementary school, (3) the majority of elementary school students already have the expected behavior in the context of kasundaan values based on Regent's regulation on SPBS. However, a few other minorities, in fact, show the unexpected behavior that potentially leads the students to negative behavior. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of kasundaan character education in elementary school in Sumedang conducted only based school curriculum in spite of Regent’s regulation

    The Development of Disciplinary Control Book for Elementary School Students

    Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk buku kendali kedisiplinan siswa sekolah dasar guna mengontrol kedisiplinan siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development) mengacu pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Kelayakan produk diperoleh melalui kegiatan uji validitas ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil uji validitas ahli media dan ahli materi menunjukkan skor rata-rata 3,75 dan 3,15; termasuk dalam kategori baik sehingga produk buku kendali kedisiplinan siswa sekolah dasar  layak diujicobakan kepada siswa SD. Ujicoba kelayakan produk dilakukan melalui kegiatan ujicoba awal dan uji coba lapangan terbatas. Sedangkan penilaian efektifitas produk dilakukan melalui kegiatan eksperimen uji lapangan luas. Hasil uji coba lapangan awal, uji coba kelompok kecil, dan uji lapangan didapatkan hasil bahwa kedisiplinan siswa SD mengalami peningkatan setelah dikontrol menggunakan buku kendali kedisiplinan dengan skor rata-rata masuk kategori baik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku kendali kedisiplinan siswa sekolah dasar layak dan efektif mengontrol kedisiplinan siswa sekolah dasar. This study was aimed to create a disciplinary control book for elementary school students to control student discipline. This research is a developmental research based on the developmental model of Borg and Gall. Product feasibility was obtained through validation activities from material and media experts. The validation results of media experts showed an average score of 3.75, and material experts showed an average score of 3.15. This score was classified in good category, so that the disciplinary control book products were worth testing for elementary school students. Product feasibility trials were carried out through initial trial and limited field trials. While the assessment of product effectiveness was carried out through extensive field test activities. The results of the initial field trial, small group trial, and field test showed that students' discipline increased after being controlled by using disciplinary control books with a good average score category. Thus, it can be concluded that the disciplinary control book of elementary school students is feasible and effective in controlling elementary school students’ discipline

    This study aims to describe the profile of teachers’ inquiry questions of science lessons in the 5th grade of Elementary School on the topic of Water. The method used in this research was a descriptive method and the sample was 16 elementary schools in Sumedang city. The results showed that the profile of inquiry question in the lesson plan document is distributive very low, the question that arises is the questions that require students to make a hypothesis only (5.56%). In the science-learning process, there are four categories of inquiry questions that appear very low in distribution (2.63%). In daily evaluation, the distribution of questions is very low, the questions only require students to hypothesize (6.73%). Based on the above analysis, it can be concluded that the emergence of the teacher inquiry question profile is still uneven and very low. Therefore it is suggested that there is an integrated training program on inquiry learning which includes the preparation of lesson planning, learning activities and science learning evaluation

    Penerapan Model Project Citizen dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Kecerdasan Ekologis

    This research is an effort to improve ecological intelligence by using the Citizen project model. The method used in this study was a classroom action research in which regular 3rd semester students of Elementary School Teacher Education (IKIP) Siliwangi were the subject. The result of this research showed that the teaching plan through the citizen project model needs careful planning. There are some obstacles in implementing the above model i.e. students are still rigid in finding the problems, making solutions to problems and solving problems. Nevertheless, through the improvement in subsequent cycles, the better ecological intelligence can be seen from cycle I to cycle III in the aspect of knowledge with an average score of 86 (excellent), awareness 3.60 (excellent) and the application 3.70 (very good). The above scores improvement is associated with the ecological intelligence aspects of waste care

    Validity of Teaching Materials for Writing Poetry Based on Creative Techniques in Elementary Schools

    One form of literary literacy in elementary schools is that students are able to write poetry. But in reality, students tend to have difficulty making poetry with certain themes. The reason is because teaching materials used were not able to lead students to carry out poetry writing activities well. Therefore, this study aims to develop teaching materials for writing poetry that is valid. The use of various creative techniques is expected to help students in expressing their ideas and imagination into verses of poetry. The research design uses Research and Development with the ADDIE development model. This model consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data to determine the level of validity of instructional materials obtained by expert validation and practitioner validation. Validation aspects of teaching materials include: (1) content feasibility aspects, (2) language aspects, (3) presentation aspects, and (4) graphical aspects. Research findings show that teaching materials for poetry writing based on creative techniques are declared valid with an average score of 3.59. Specifically, the scores obtained for each aspect are: (1) content feasibility 3.59, (2) language 3.45, (3) presentation 3.61, and (4) graphical 3.68
