    Evo & Lusi: A Novel to Increase Motivation to Learn Evolution

    This study aims to determine the feasibility of evolution learning novels as an alternative learning resource in high school biology learning and to determine the effectiveness of evolution learning novels in increasing learning motivation in students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The type of research and development used is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). The implementation stage is carried out with a pre-experimental design type one-group pretest and post design. The validation results that have been carried out, the product developed has an average validation percentage of 82.5%, which is very valid. The percentage of validation is obtained from the validation results by learning novel development experts and evolutionary material experts, but with various revisions that need to be made, the majority of which lie in writing errors and laying the concept of evolution. The products produced increased student learning motivation when tested on a limited basis at SMA N 1 Bandar Batang Regency. The initial motivation level of SMA N 1 Bandar Batang Regency students is included in the excellent category with a percentage of 59.17%. After being given a novel to read, the student motivation level increase to 79.86% or in high criteria.     Analisis Kebutuhan Pengembangan Model Case Based Learning pada Pembelajaran Tematik untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Kelas V

    This study aims to analyze the needs of elementary school students for the development of learning models based on the Case Based Learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected through interviews, tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model. The subjects of this study were 40 students and a class V teacher. The results of this study indicated that 90% of students were interested in thematic learning associated with everyday life. only 42.5% of students met the KKM for SBdP subjects and 35.9% met the KKM for science subjects on theme 2 sub-theme 1 learning 5. These learning results indicated that the Case Based Learning model applied had not been able to improve students' critical thinking skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa sekolah dasar terhadap pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan Case Based Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, tes, dan angket, kemudian dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 40 siswa dan seorang guru kelas V. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 90% siswa tertarik dengan pembelajaran tematik yang dikaitkan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, selain itu siswa SDN 104208 Cinta Rakyat telah menggunakan model Case Based Learning dalam pembelajaran tematik, namun hanya 42,5% siswa yang memenuhi KKM mata pelajaran SBdP dan 35,9% yang memenuhi KKM mata pelajaran IPA pada tema 2 subtema 1 pembelajaran 5.     Teachers’ Beliefs and Efficacy of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge for STEM Learning

    The application of STEM in Indonesian education has grown. The TPACK framework could enhance teachers' beliefs and efficacy in STEM education. However, there need to be more details evidence of the teacher's beliefs and efficacy when facing or dealing with STEM-based learning. Therefore, exploring the teachers' views and perspectives on implementing TPACK in conducting STEM learning is crucial. This study aimed to reveal teachers' beliefs and efficacy on their TPACK in designing STEM learning. The case study method was used with 9 participants enrolled in a STEM learning program for science teachers. Teachers' self-assessment questionnaires and online interviews collected teachers' TPACK beliefs and efficacy. We analyzed quantitative data from self-assessment questionnaires using interval class analysis. We used a descriptive approach to analyze data from interviews. The results show that teachers regard themselves as highly competent in implementing their TPACK on STEM learning. Out of the three TPACK domains, teachers showed better efficacy in the integrative STEM domain. Of the three TPACK domains, teachers showed better efficacy in the integrative STEM domain than in technology-related knowledge. They are, nevertheless, generally enthusiastic about improving their technological skills. These findings reflect the urgent need to provide professional teachers programs to support this positive belief and efficacy on teachers' TPACK for STEM learning. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i2.2840

    Plant Diversity that Can be Used as Silk Fabric Ecoprint Material as a Learning Resource Contextual for High School Students

    This study aims to find ou what types of local plants can be used as ecoprint materials of Sutra in Tempe District, Wajo and contextuallearning resources for SMA sstudents. Narrativeistic-interpretative This research was carried out from January to April 2023 and the research locations were conducted in Tempe District, Wajo Regency and in High Schools. The data analysis technique was carried out using 3 steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of observations and explorations that have been carried out at the location, there are 10 types of local plants that can be used as ecoprint materials.     Investigation of Biology Students' Cognitive Structure Ability Regarding the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology

    The purpose of this study was to improve biology learning outcomes in genetic material for class XII-MIPA 8 students of SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya in the 2022/2023 academic year. The model is the media image. The subjects of this classroom action research were class XII.MIPA 8 students of SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya. The number of students is 35 people, 14 boys and 21 girls. This classroom behavior study was conducted in the 2022-2023 school year. This classroom action research was conducted for three months in odd semesters starting from October to December 2022. The research methodology for this classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research process consisted of Preliminary Research, Cycle 1 Planning, Cycle 1 Action Implementation, Cycle 1 Observation, Cycle 1 Reflection, Cycle 2 Planning, Cycle 2 Action Implementation, Cycle 2 Observation, and Cycle 2 Consists of reflection. The data collection technique is to collect test scores using tests (written tests) given at the end of each lesson in each cycle. Observational data is made by observing student activities during the learning process. Data analysis was performed using percentage statistics. The results showed that the students' learning outcomes increased from 40 before learning to 70 in cycle 1 and 85 in cycle 2. Student learning activities increased from the category of 'Enough' to 'Good' and from 'Good' to 'Very Good'. The application of media images can increase the activity and learning outcomes of biology in the genetic material for class XII.MIPA 8 SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya Academic Year 2022/2023. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.2712

    Pertumbuhan Vegetatif Eksplan Kentang (Solanum Tuberosum L.) Kultivar Atlantik pada Medium Murashige and Skoog dengan Penambahan Ekstrak Tomat (Solanum Lycopersicum L.) Secara In Vitro

    This  research  was  to  find  out  the  growth  of  potato  explant (Solanum tuberosum L.) atlantic cultivar after giving concentrations of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) extract and to find out the optimum concentrations of tomato extract for the  growth  of  potato  (Solanum  tuberosum  L.)  explant  Atlantic  cultivar  in  vitro.  This research uses a completely randomized design with a single factor, with 5 concentrations levels : 0%,2%,4%,6%,8%. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. Data obtained then in Levene test, then carried analysis of varience test at the 5% real level. The result of this research  indicate  that  giving  tomato  extract  to  vegetative  growth  of  potato  had  not significant of height, the amount of leaves, and the amount of shoots. Keywords: growth, in vitro, Solanum tuberosum L., Tomato extract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif eksplan kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.) kultivar Atlantik secara in vitro. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2018 sampai bulan Desember 2018 di Laboratorium Botani (ruang penelitian in vitro), Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Lampung menggunakan pola dasar Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 1 faktor yaitu ekstrak tomat dengan lima taraf konsentrasi, yaitu 0% v/v, 2 % v/v, 4% v/v , 6% v/v, 8% v/v. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 5 ulangan sehingga total botol yang digunakan berjumlah 25 botol. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu tinggi planlet, jumlah daun dan jumlah tunas. Data yang diperoleh di homogenkan menggunakan uji Levene, kemudian dilanjutkan uji ANARA pada taraf nyata 5%, jika signifikan maka dilakukan uji Lanjut pada BNT taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak tomat tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan jumlah tunas. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v10.i3.2496

    Metacognitive Awareness Based on Gender in Conceptual Change Learning Assisted Android Mobile-learning on the Topic of the Human Reproductive System

    Abstract: Metacognitive Awareness Based on Gender in Conceptual Change Learning Assisted Android Mobile-learning on the Topic of the Human Reproductive System. This study aims to describe the level of metacognitive awareness of male and female students in conceptual change learning on the topic of the human reproductive system, the relationship between knowledge about cognition and cognitive regulation. The research subjects were students of class XI at a high school in Bandar Lampung. The instrument used to collect data is a metacognitive awareness questionnaire developed by Schraw & Dennison (1996). The results of the study show that male and female students are dominantly at the level of "developing" metacognitive awareness in the sense that they can be helped towards awareness of thinking for themselves if they are inspired or supported. This study also revealed that girls are more dominant in their minds-on, while male students tend to be more hands-on. Each knowledge about cognition and regulation of cognition has a strong relationship, both in male and female students. Through this research, it appears that conceptual change learning facilitates male and female students to identify and revise concepts that develop in society related to the human reproductive system to become scientifically correct. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.2713

    Persepsi Siswa Terhadap Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Daring Pada Mata Pelajaran IPA Biologi Selama Masa Pandemi Covid-19 Kelas VIII Di SMPN 9 Pekanbaru

    This study aims to determine student`s perceptions of the implementation of online learning in the Biology Science subject during the Covid-19 pandemic for class VIII at SMPN 9 Pekanbaru. This research is quantitative research. The method used in this study is a survey method. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The sample in this study were 160 students. Based on the results of the study, students’ perceptions of the implementation of online learning in Biology Science subject during the Covid-19 pandemic for class VIII at SMPN 9 Pekanbaru obtained an average score of 80.76% in the good category. The highest sub-indicator, namely opening learning, obtained a percentage of 92.41% in the very good category. Meanwhile, the lowest sub-indicator is giving conclusions with a percentage of 67.34%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi selama masa pendemi covid-19 kelas VIII di SMPN 9 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 160 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat dilihat bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi selama masa pendemi covid-19 kelas VIII di SMPN 9 Pekanbaru memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 80,76% berada dalam kategori baik. Pada sub indikator tertinggi yaitu membuka pembelajaran memperoleh persentase sebesar 92,41% berada dalam kategori sangat baik.     Profil Durasi Screen Time dan Tingkat Stres Paska Pembelajaran Online pada Calon Guru Biologi

    The implementation of online learning methods requires students to be in front of a screen for a longer time. This light exposure is thought to be related to emerging problems such as academic stress. Therefore, researchers want to know the profile of student stress levels during the distance learning period during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used observational research methods with a cross-sectional research design. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education UMMI with 58 respondents. Stress level data was obtained through the DASS-42 questionnaire. The results showed that 39.65% of students were active in front of gadget screens for learning activities for 8 to 10 hours per day, and 48.28% of students used gadgets before going to bed. In addition, based on the DASS-42 questionnaire, it shows that students in general are at a moderate level of stress (41.38%), a very severe level of anxiety (36.21%), and a normal level of depression (56.90%).Penerapan metode pembelajaran daring mengharuskan mahasiswa berada di depan layar dalam waktu yang lebih lama. Paparan cahaya ini diduga terkait dengan masalah-masalah yang muncul seperti stres akademik. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui profil tingkat stres mahasiswa selama masa pembelajaran jarak jauh di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian observasional, dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, UMMI sebanyak 58 responden.  Data tingkat stres diperoleh melalui kuesioner DASS-42. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 39,65% mahasiswa beraktivitas di depan layar gadget untuk kegiatan belajar selama 8 sampai 10 jam per harinya dan 48,28% mahasiswa menggunakan gadget sebelum tidur. Selain itu, berdasarkan kuisioner DASS-42 menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa secara umum berada pada tingkat stress kategori sedang (41,38%), tingkat kecemasan kategori sangat parah (36,21%), tingkat depresi normal (56,90%).Kata kunci: stres akademik, pembelajaran daring, screen timeDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v10.i3.2647

    Keterampilan Kolaborasi Dan Self-Regulated Learning Peserta Didik: Sebuah Implementasi Model Creative Problem Solving

    The 21st century is characterized by different fundamental changes. This study aims to determine the influence of creative problem-solving models to improve collaboration skills and self-regulated learning of students on environmental change material. The method used is Quasi-experimental. The research design used in this study was the matching-only posttest-only control group design. The population in this study, namely the entire class X mipa, was 186 students. The sample was taken in the form of purposive sampling of 65 students. Data collection was carried out by providing 16 self-regulated learning statements and 15 collaboration skills questionnaire statements. The data analysis technique used is the ANCOVA test. The results showed that the creative problem-solving model had a significant effect (sig = 0.000) on the collaboration and self-regulated learning skills of students on environmental change material. Judging from the average score, the collaboration skills and self-regulated learning of the experimental class are superior compared to the control class. Abad ke-21 ditandai dengan perubahan-perubahan fundamental yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model creative problem solving untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi dan self-regulated learning peserta didik materi perubahan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni the matching-only posttest-only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kelas X MIPA sebanyak 186 peserta didik. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah non-probability berupa purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan 16 pernyataan self-regulated learning dan 15 pernyataan angket keterampilan kolaborasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji ANCOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukan model creative problem solving berpengaruh signifikan (sig=0,000) terhadap keterampilan kolaborasi dan self-regulated learning peserta didik materi perubahan lingkungan. Dilihat dari perolehan skor rata-rata keterampilan kolaborasi dan self-regulated learning kelas eksperimen lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.Kata kunci: creative problem solving, kolaborasi, self regulated learning DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v10.i3.2579
