Migrant Women: A Thorough View of the Educational Impact on Their Work and Social Life Trajectory
This article examines the impact that the educational process has on the work and social trajectory in the migratory process of a migrant, addressing both its social and work dimensions through the life history approach as an instrument of qualitative analysis. Through the migrant's personal story, the educational experiences that influence her social integration and job opportunities in the destination country are explored. This study begins by contextualizing through the introduction the current situation of migrant women in relation to the educational, labor and social spheres. Likewise, the general objective of the research is determined, which consists of analyzing the educational impact on the immigration process of an immigrant, exploring its repercussions at a social and labor level. Next, the methodological development of the research is determined, based on the construction of a life story, for which a qualitative design has been used, through a phenomenological approach, with an exploratory and interpretive nature. Below is the analysis of the results and the discussion, which shows the connections that exist between education, social integration and the labor success of migrant women over time. It concludes by highlighting the relevance of understanding individual experiences through life stories. Ultimately, the study highlights the interconnection between education, cultural adaptation and labor mobility, providing a comprehensive vision of the challenges and achievements of the migrant in their new reality.Proyecto de Excelencia. PENGEOM -- A general-purpose geometry package for Monte Carlo simulation of radiation transport in complex material structures (New Version Announcement)
A new version of the code system pengeom, which provides a complete set of tools to handle different geometries in Monte Carlo simulations of radiation transport, is presented. The distribution package consists of a set of Fortran subroutines and a Java graphical user interface that allows building and debugging the geometry-definition file, and producing images of the geometry in two- and three dimensions. A detailed description of these tools is given in the original paper [Comput. Phys. Commun. 199 (2016) 102–113] and in the code manual included in the distribution package. The present new version differs from the previous one in that 1) it implements a more systematic handling of round-off errors, 2) the set of examples has been updated, and 3) it allows including a single voxelized box as a geometry module. The effect of Early Maladaptive Cognitive Shemas on Perceived Stress in a sample of adults: Resilience as a Mediator
The study aimed to identify the role of resilience as a moderator between maladaptive cognitive schemas and perceived stress among adults the researchers. constructed a model to test the influence of psychological maladaptive cognitive schemas, resilience as a mediator to adjust the psychological stress response. The study included a sample of (168) male and female, their ages ranged from 25 to 60 years. Participants accomplishing responses to the tools used in the study, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) to measuring psychological resilience, maladaptive cognitive schemas (ysQ-s3) to evaluate cognitive schemas and perceived stress scal-10 to assessing stress. The researchers used descriptive method to investigate the correlation between variables of the study, and conducted a path analysis to examine the role moderator of resilience in the relationship between maladaptive cognitive schemas and perceived stress. And we examine differences between male and female, and age groups in the three measures. There are a positive correlation statistically significant between each of the five areas of maladaptive cognitive schemas and perceived stress, and there are a negative correlation statistically significant with resilience. However, there are a negative correlation statistically significant between resilience and perceived stress. Results of path analysis model showed that there is an indirect effect of resilience as mediator between maladaptive cognitive schemas and perceived stress. However, there are no differences due to the variable of gender and age groups in maladaptive cognitive schemas, perceived stress, and resilience. The study clarified that individuals with resilience capacities were less affected by their earlier maladaptive cognitive schemas and bounced back more easily after experiencing a stressor event. It recommends developing resilience resources and building this cognitive psychological capacity
Unleashing 5G Seamless Integration with TSN for Industry 5.0: Frame Forwarding and QoS Treatment
Integrating Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and 5th Generation (5G) systems is key for providing wireless low-latency services in industry. Despite research efforts, challenges remain. Due to the lack of commercial 5G modems supporting Ethernet-based sessions, tunneling mechanisms must be used to enable Layer 2 connectivity between TSN islands via IP-based 5G modems. Furthermore, harmonizing traffic classification and prioritization between TSN and 5G technologies is crucial for meeting industrial service requirements. In this work, we propose a Virtual Extensible LAN (VxLAN)-based solution to harmonize frame forwarding and Quality of Service (QoS) treatment among 5G and TSN. Our solution supports multiple Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) across several production lines. Furthermore, it supports TSN traffic mapping into 5G QoS flows. We use a 5G testbed to validate the effectiveness of the adopted solution. Our results show the average delay introduced by the proposed mechanisms is approximately 100 μs, which is significantly lower than the typical 5G packet transmission delay. Moreover, our findings demonstrate our solution preserves QoS treatment between the 5G system and TSN, ensuring that the priority of 5G QoS flows aligns with the priorities of industrial traffic flow
Evaluating soil respiration and water infiltration in esparto grasslands: the effects of hillslope position and soil management in arid, human‑affected Mediterranean environments
Stipa tenacissima L., commonly known as esparto grass, is a key species in semi-arid Mediterranean ecosystems, historically
valued for its use in crafts and agriculture. However, the widespread abandonment of esparto grasslands has led
to significant soil degradation, including erosion, reduced water retention, and nutrient loss. In Benamaurel, Granada
(Southern Spain), where these grasslands once thrived, abandonment has exacerbated soil degradation, driven by the
region’s distinct geomorphological and climatic conditions, such as saline soils, gypsum deposits, and extreme temperatures.
This study aims to assess soil infiltration and respiration dynamics in both cultivated and abandoned esparto
grasslands in Benamaurel, considering different hillslope positions (upper, backslope, and footslope). Our results demonstrate
significant variability in soil infiltration (differences between 0.5 and 1.5 mm h−
1) and respiration (difference of
−9.17 μg m2
hr⁻1 in CO2
emissions), with no consistent trends identified across different hillslope positions or types of
land management. Key soil properties, including bulk density, organic matter, and soil water retention capacity (SWRC),
play a critical role in these processes, though their effects vary. Long-term monitoring is essential for understanding
these dynamics, especially in the context of climate change. Our findings highlight the need for conservation strategies
to prevent further soil degradation, promote landscape restoration, and reduce environmental risks. Gaining insight into
the effects of abandonment on soil quality in this region is crucial for developing effective land management practices

There are still many open questions in the complex process of galaxy evolution during interactions, as each stage is characterized by different periods of star formation.
Aims. We aim to better understand the processes triggered in galaxies by interactions. We consider low-density environments in which in-situ interaction between the members is the main process that drives evolution.
Methods. In this work we carried out an analysis of star-formation and nuclear activity at different stages during a galaxy merger identified in isolated systems (isolated galaxies, isolated pairs, and isolated triplets) using integral field spectroscopy from the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) project. We classified galaxies into close pairs, pre-mergers, mergers, and post-mergers (including galaxies with post-starburst spectroscopic features) for a total sample of 137 galaxies. We constrained their star formation history from spectro-photometric SED fitting with Code Investigating GALaxy Emission (CIGALE), and used spatially resolved WHAN diagrams, with other MaNGA data products to explore whether there is any connection between their physical properties and their merging stage.
Results. In general, galaxies show characteristic properties intrinsically related to each stage of the merger process. Galaxies in the merger and post-merger stages present higher star-formation activity (measured by their integrated sSFR). In the merger stage, the fraction of strong AGN spaxels is comparable to the fraction of spaxels with pure star-formation emission, with no difference between the AGN activity in close pairs and strongly interacting galaxies with the same stellar mass.
Conclusions. Our results support the scenario where galaxy interactions trigger star formation and nuclear activity on galaxies. Nonetheless, the AGN has a minor role in quenching galaxies following a merger, as AGN feedback might not have had sufficient time to inhibit star formation. In addition, we found that the quenching process in post-merger galaxies with post-starburst emission happens outside-in, which is an observational proof of the effect of interactions on the quenching process. Phraseological expressions used to present something as a fact employed in specialised domains in portuguese (18th and 19th centuries)
Desde su fundación en 1779, la Academia de Ciências de Lisboa exigía objetividad y neutralidad científica a los miembros que presentaran textos en los concursos académicos. En este trabajo, mediante un método mixto cuantitativo-cualitativo, se analiza una serie de afirmaciones formuladas categóricamente, como sendo indubitável que ‘indudablemente’ y é bem sabido que ‘es bien sabido que’, cuya función es introducir premisas de un argumento sin establecerlo en el sentido de los silogismos categóricos. El estudio se lleva a cabo sobre la base de las Memórias sobre agricultura, economía y economía agraria publicadas por la Academia entre 1788 y 1821, consideradas fundamentales en la historia de la ciencia y la lengua científica en Portugal. Las estructuras se analizan en sus contextos inmediatos Se verifica su semántica en los contextos dados y se determinan, desde la perspectiva de la lingüística de las variedades, las variantes funcionales de un solo patrón. Partiendo del análisis funcional se procede a la clasificación fraseológica: se trata de construcciones estereotípicas asociadas a determinados discursos que admiten la inserción de elementos variables como complemento; desde la perspectiva gramatical, serían fórmulas marcadoras para presentar hechos o para identificar algo como una evidencia; desde la perspectiva pragmática, son como marcadores discursivos de modalidad epistémica que indican evidencialidad.Since its foundation in 1779, the Academia de Ciências de Lisboa demanded objectivity and scientific neutrality from its members when submitting texts in the academic competitions. In this paper, using a mixed quantitative-qualitative method, we analyse a series of categorically formulated statements such as sendo indubitável que ‘undoubtedly’ or é bem sabido que ‘it is well known that’ that introduce premises of an argument without establishing arguments in the sense of categorical syllogisms. The study is carried out based on Memórias on agriculture, economics and agrarian economics published by the Academia between 1788 and 1821, considered fundamental in the history of science and scientific language in Portugal. The structures are analysed in the immediate contexts, their semantics in the given contexts are verified and the functional variants of a single pattern are determined from the perspective of linguistic of variation. From the functional analysis, we proceed to a phraseological classification: these are stereotypical constructions associated with certain discourses which admit the insertion of variable elements as complements; from the grammatical perspective, they are marker formulas to present facts or to identify something as evidence; from the pragmatic perspective, discourse markers of epistemic modality which indicate evidence

Security or tranquillity? what people value in residential compounds
The phenomenon of residential compounds is increasingly prevalent in today’s society. Fear of crime is one of the main explanations for the proliferation of gated communities, the most closed type of residential compound. They reflect a privatisation of public space and the desire of the most privileged groups to control access to their residential enclaves. Considering that in Southern Europe this phenomenon exhibits more morphological and social diversity and that crime levels are lower, this paper analyses what residents of these compounds value and explores security as a key residential value in this context. For this purpose, an empirical analysis of 20 interviews was conducted in 2020 in the Granada metropolitan area (Spain), where previous studies have highlighted a wide variety of residential compounds in the urban landscape. Contrary to the general assumptions reported in other studies, our results show that there are no significant concerns about security amongst the residents of residential compounds. Instead, their priorities emphasize a widespread interest in residential comfort, which encompasses various dimensions such as spaciousness, tranquillity and location. This interest is shared by both residents and non-residents of these residential compounds.
