RI-(S)MOM to MS conversion for BK at two-loop order
The Kaon bag parameter BˆK plays a critical role in constraining the parameters
of the CKM matrix and in probing physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we
improve the precision of BˆK to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and provide world
averages for both 3- and 4-favour theories. In the course of this, as our main technical
development, we carry out the two-loop matching between the RI-(S)MOM and MS schemes.
Our world averages combine all available lattice data, including conversion between the 3-
and 4-favour theories as appropriate. We obtain the result Bˆ
(f=3)
K = 0.7627(60), which
comprises the complete set of 3- and 4-favour lattice results and can be used directly in
phenomenological applications. The error is dominated by lattice uncertainties and missing
higher-order corrections (residual scale dependence). Our averages include a PDG rescaling
factor of 1.28 refecting a mild tension among the lattice inputs after inclusion of NNLO
corrections in the scheme conversion and matching across favour thresholds. Our averages
imply an updated value |ϵK| = 2.171(65)pert.(71)non-pert.(153)param. ×10−3
. We briefy discuss
applications of our results to D-meson mixing.MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 - FEDER/UE (grant PID2022-139466NB-C21)Consejería de Universidad, Investigación e Innovación, Gobierno de España and Unión Europea – NextGenerationEU (AST22 6.5 and CNS2022-136024)UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (grant ST/X000796/1
ALMA Lensing Cluster Survey: Physical Characterization of Near-infrared-dark Intrinsically Faint ALMA Sources at z = 2–4
We present results from Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) spectral line-scan observations at 3 mm and 2 mm bands of three near-infrared-dark (NIR-dark) galaxies behind two massive lensing clusters MACS J0417.5-1154 and RXC J0032.1+1808. Each of these three sources is a (sub)millimeter faint (delensed S1.2 mm < 1 mJy) triply lensed system originally discovered in the ALMA Lensing Cluster Survey. We have successfully detected CO and [C i] emission lines and confirmed that their spectroscopic redshifts are z = 3.652, 2.391, and 2.985. By utilizing a rich multiwavelength data set, we find that the NIR-dark galaxies are located on the star formation main sequence in the intrinsic stellar mass range of log (M*/M⊙) = 9.8–10.4, which is about 1 order of magnitude lower than that of typical submillimeter galaxies (SMGs). These NIR-dark galaxies show a variety in gas depletion times and spatial extent of dust emission. One of the three is a normal star-forming galaxy with gas depletion time consistent with a scaling relation, and its infrared surface brightness is an order of magnitude smaller than that of typical SMGs. Since this galaxy has an elongated axis ratio of ∼0.17, we argue that normal star-forming galaxies in an edge-on configuration can be heavily dust-obscured. This implies that existing deep WFC3/F160W surveys may miss a fraction of typical star-forming main-sequence galaxies due to their edge-on orientation.ESO (European Southern Observatory
The Junta de Noche and the Government of the Monarchy. Between privation and Valence in the time of the Prudent King
fines del siglo XVI.After the annexation of Portugal, the omnipresent Junta de Noche was formed, a sort of private
council designed to advise the monarch on the governance of his states. The junta was positioned
at the apex of the royal administration thanks to the undisputed dominance exercised by the patrons
over their respective ministries, giving it de facto political direction of the monarchy. In this article
we analyse unclear questions about this phenomenon: the functions of the Junta de Noche, the
power relations between its members, consolidation, and changes at the end of the 16th century

How Has Poets’ Reading Style Changed? A Phonetic Analysis of the Effects of Historical Phases and Gender on 20th Century Spanish Poetry Reading
Poetry reading remains a largely underexplored area in phonetic research. While previous
studies have highlighted its potential and challenges, experimental research in the Spanish
context is still limited. This study aims to examine the evolution of Spanish poetry reading
over time, focusing on its main prosodic features. Applying the VIP-VSP phonetic model to
40 poetry recordings, we analyzed the organizational and prosodic indices that characterize
poetry reading. Mean speech rate, plenus (the ratio of speaking time to pausing), and pitch
span emerged as key parameters for capturing change. The results identified two distinct
historical phases—first and second radio-television—showing significant effects on speech
rate, plenus, and pitch span: speech rate and pitch span increased over time, while plenus
decreased. Gender also played a key role, with female voices exhibiting significantly higher
values in both pitch span and plenus. Variability and recurring strategies were observed
within and across authors. This study confirms that poetry reading has evolved along a
‘stylistic-chronological’ trajectory, while also reflecting gender-based distinctions. These
findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary analytical approaches and diversified
classification groupings to fully capture the complexity of this mode of speech.European Union’s Horizon Europe - Marie Skłodowska-Curie (grant agreement No. 101109465
Clinical effects of probiotics on the treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Aims:
This study aimed to evaluate the impact of probiotics as an adjunct to periodontal therapy on clinical outcomes in patients with gingivitis and periodontitis through a meta-analysis of available evidence.
Materials and methods:
A detailed bibliographic search on four databases (PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane and EMBASE) was conducted with a language restriction. The collected data were assessed according to the predefined eligibility criteria and randomized clinical trials reporting the effects of probiotics on plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP) and pocket probing depth (PPD) compared to control or placebo groups were selected and analysed. The risk of bias assessment was conducted using SYRCLE’s RoB- 2 tool. The GRADEpro tool was used to determine the overall quality of evidence.
Results:
Twenty-four studies (10 about gingivitis and 14 about periodontitis) were included in the meta-analysis. In the gingivitis studies, lower but non-significant PI and BOP were found in the probiotic group. In periodontitis, lower PI (95%-CI [- 0.54; - 0.15], p = 0.001) were reported in the probiotic group, and this difference was greater in studies with longer follow-up. Lower BOP (95%-CI [- 0.58; - 0.05], p = 0.021) was also reported, but this difference was only significant in studies with a shorter follow-up (95%-CI [- 0.86; - 0.11], p = 0.012). Meta-analysis for PPD showed lower, but non-significant, values (95%-CI [- 0.53; + 0.03], p = 0.077). However, this difference became significant when assessing studies with shorter follow-up (95% CI [- 0.77; - 0.07], p = 0.019).
Conclusions:
The meta-analysis provides evidence suggested that probiotics can serve as a beneficial adjunct to periodontal treatment in patients with periodontitis, particularly in improving clinical outcomes such as plaque index and bleeding on probing. The results from gingivitis studies highlight the need for further investigation to better understand the impact of probiotics in the early stages of periodontal disease. These findings emphasize the importance of future research with standardized protocols and longer follow-up periods to confirm and expand on the clinical utility of probiotics in periodontal therapy

amplios territorios

Discriminative Capacity of Visceral Adiposity and Triglyceride Glucose-Waist Circumference Indices for Metabolic Syndrome in Spanish Adolescents: A Cross-Sectional Study
Background/Objectives: Adolescence is a critical period for the early detection of metabolic
syndrome (MetS), a condition that increases the risk of cardiometabolic diseases in adulthood. Timely identification of at-risk adolescents enables targeted prevention strategies.
This study aimed to analyze the discriminative capacity and accuracy of six biochemical
and/or anthropometric indices related to lipid metabolism and adiposity for the early detection of MetS in a sample of Spanish adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional study carried
out according to the STROBE guidelines. A sample of 981 adolescents aged 11–16 years
old were randomly recruited from schools in Southeastern Spain. The presence or absence of MetS was determined according to the International Diabetes Federation criteria.
The following biochemical and/or anthropometric indices were evaluated: triglyceride
glucose index, visceral adiposity index, logarithm children’s lipid accumulation product,
triglyceride glucose-body mass index, triglyceride glucose-waist circumference, and triglyceride glucose-waist-to-hip ratio. Results: The triglyceride glucose-waist-to-hip ratio and
triglyceride glucose-body mass index parameters were the strongest indicators associated
with MetS in boys and girls, respectively, after adjusting for several factors. Moreover,
all evaluated indices showed optimal AUC values, with the visceral adiposity index and
triglyceride glucose-waist circumference index exhibiting the highest discriminative capacity in both genders. Conclusions: The evaluated biochemical and anthropometric indices—
particularly visceral adiposity index and triglyceride-glucose-waist circumference—show
promise as accessible biomarkers for identifying adolescents at metabolic risk. These
indices may serve as practical tools in preventive health strategies aimed at improving
metabolic health by screening adolescents at risk of MetS, thereby helping to reduce the
future burden of non-communicable diseases.Andalusia 2014–2020 European Regional Development
