Significance of staff education in agricultural cooperatives : Case study of agricultural cooperative A in Kushiro, Hokkaido
Get PDFBulletin本稿は農協による職員教育の意義について論じることを目的としている。この目的を果たすために，職員教育の先駆的事例である北海道のA農協における営農プロジェクトの実態を調査し，その成果を確認した。営農プロジェクトの最大の成果は，この取り組みが職員のスキルアップの実現だけでなく，組合員の経営力向上にも貢献するものになっていることであった。つまり，職員教育は，職員だけでなく，究極的には組織の主役である組合員にもメリットがもたらされるといった意義を有していることが，調査の結果，明らかとなった。The purpose of this paper is to discuss the significance of staff education provided by agricultural cooperatives. To achieve this objective, the author investigated the status of a farming project implemented by agricultural cooperative A in Hokkaido, which is a pioneering example of staff training, and confirmed its results. The biggest outcome of the farming project was that it not only helped to improve the skills of the staff, but it also contributed to improving the management skills of the cooperative members. In other words, the results of the survey revealed that staff education is significance in that it brings benefits not only to the staff but ultimately to the union members who are the main players in the organization.departmental bulletin pape
Educational Significance of using Field Excursions at the Shiretoko World Heritage Site
Get PDFBulletinOn the basis of the case of a Shiretoko field excursion conducted as part of the General Practicum on the Hydrosphere and Geosphere of the Department of Environmental Sciences at our university in September 2023, two aspects were focused in this paper: “whether the significance of Shiretoko as a World Heritage Site was adequately conveyed to students,” and “whether the local initiatives in Shiretoko were conveyed to students.” With explanations provided by local guides and lecturers, the tour included a visit to “an outcrop that provides a geoscientific history of the Shiretoko Peninsula” and “a museum that shows the productive interactions between marine and terrestrial ecosystems affected by seasonal sea ice formation.” From the submitted reports of the students, it was evident that the on-site lectures by nature guides, lecturers, and faculty members helped students better understand Shiretoko as a World Heritage Site as well as the efforts of local residents within the World Heritage Site and that the experience was very easy to understand. Get PDFBulletin獣医学教育モデル・コア・カリキュラム（コアカリ）対応の酪農学園大学獣医学類独自の寄生虫（病）学教育を展開するため，2004 年以来，同大野生動物医学センターで対応したダニ類に関する同定（鑑定）やダニ類寄生によって生じた疾病の診断事例などについてまとめ，今後の課題について論考した。To develop an education in parasitology that aligns with the unique model core curriculum at Rakuno Gakuen University in Japan, it became necessary for the Wild Animal Medical Center to expand its archaeological research focus to include mites and ticks obtained from free-ranging and/or captive mammals, birds and reptiles. Therefore, this study complies with and examines cases of parasite identification and parasitic disease diagnosis in both such hosts and parasites handled by the center since 2004. Furthermore, the study discusses the application of these findings to the core curriculum in parasitology education and explores future challenges.departmental bulletin pape
Correlation between animal abuse and domestic violence : Examining case studies from an interview survey
Get PDFBulletinIn recent years, since animal abuse and domestic violence (DV) occur simultaneously in the U.S., shelters that allow pets have been increasing in number. In Australia, an ongoing study of veterinarians, revealed that 92.8% of veterinarians have examined animals after being aware that they were abused. In Japan, since studies have not shown a relationship between domestic violence and animal abuse, Survey 1 conducted interviews with domestic violence victims who had pets. Subsequently, eight respondents who had experienced both animal abuse and domestic violence revealed specific details of violence against animals, their children, and their spouses. Stories of intentionally throwing puppies and cats, which were adored by their children, out of windows and onto the floor, as well as stories of pet abuse and threats, were revealed in the interviews. In addition, two of the eight respondents were linked to veterinarian visits. However, both indicated that they were unable to tell the truth about the pet abuse in front of the veterinarian. In Study 2, DV shelter operators were interviewed at seven facilities to determine whether any of the victims fled with their pets. The results revealed that one facility made it clear that, from 2020, pets are allowed. The other shelters often lost contact with the victims after they were informed that they were not allowed to bring their pets, and it became clear that they were often concerned about what would happen to these victims of domestic violence. Therefore, it was considered that it would be a good idea for domestic violence shelters to provide information on where to leave pets (veterinary clinics and pet foster homes) and to offer consultation services.departmental bulletin pape
