The so-called Industry 4.0 has caused the introduction of new digital technologies that increase and improve the production and potential of the new intelligent industry. For that, it’s necessary a good communication between the machines and the users, so that they could exploit their abilities. Nevertheless, on the development of such new technologies the aim its usually the optimization of the system functionalities, setting aside the user on the development process and the improvement of aspects as the usability of the application. Therefore, there is lack of structured methods that have the users as the starting point. With the objective of working on this lack, this communication presents the methodology User Centered Agile Design (UCAD), showing the 8 principles that compose it. These principles set out a working method for the creation of Human Machine Interaction (HMI) systems that are centred on the user. This way, it is expected to help designing new solutions centred on the user and creating interactions that fulfil their needs, getting a friendly and intuitive product.La denominada industria 4.0 ha traído consigo la introducción de nuevas tecnologías digitales que aumentan y mejoran la producción y el potencial de la nueva industria inteligente. The study of Place Cells, hippocampal neurons tuned to spatial locations in the environment, is central to elucidate how the brain encodes and retrieves spatial information. Advances in genetic and imaging technologies have allowed keeping track of the dynamics of large ensembles of Place Cells across multiple days in mice. As the brain processes information at the neuronal population level, novel recording techniques such as in-vivo calcium imaging have the potential to unveil the mechanisms underlying the dynamics of place coding. However, with new recording paradigms comes the need to standardize and optimize the processing and first analysis stages of the data. In this work, we present our efforts in building a pipeline to process, extract, filter, track and analyze Place Cells from mice calcium imaging recordings in a linear-track experiment. To validate the pipeline, we show accurate prediction of the animal actions from the processed neural recordings. Finally, building on the previous steps, we present some tentative results on Place Cell turnover and the relation between predictive-accuracy and noise correlations

    Get PDF
Ikerketa honetan euskaraz argitaratutako haur-liburuen corpus bat aztertu da kulturarteko ikuspegitik. Helburua izan da kulturarteko konpetentziak garatzen lagundu dezaketen liburuak aurkitzea; alegia, kulturarteko hezkuntzaren tresna moduan erabil daitezkeenak. Horretarako, irizpideak bilatzea derrigorrezkoa izan da, eta irizpideen zerrenda bat eraiki da, haur-literaturan aplikatzeko; zer liburuk laguntzen duten konpetentzia horiek garatzen detektatu ahal izateko, hain zuzen. Ikerketan, beraz, haur-literaturako corpus bat zedarritu da, analizatzeko irizpideak finkatu dira, irizpideen arabera corpusaren azterketa egin da, eta ondorioak atera dira.In this study a corpus of children’s literature in Basque is examined from an intercultural standpoint. The aim has been to find whether the texts help to contribute to the development of intercultural skills to enable them to be used as a resource for intercultural education. To this end, it was imperative to compile a list of criteria to apply to children’s literature and thus ascertain which of the texts met the requirements. The present research therefore involves selecting a corpus of children’s literature, devising criteria for analysis, applying the criteria to the corpus and drawing conclusions

Comparison : Group Model Building Workshops of Two SMEs from the Basque Industrial Sector

    Get PDF
Group Model Building (GMB) is a methodology which involves a target group in the business of model formulation and conceptualization. It is crucial to obtain extended formal models and accelerate group decision support for future model building. In this paper the development of two GMB workshops for two Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) from the Basque Industrial Sector is presented. These workshops focused solely on one problem: the analysis of the commitment of workers to the organization. Each session in each company was of four-hour duration and involved eight workers and two facilitators. This article highlights the importance of involving decision-making agents from each company in the reflection and process of finding solutions for their problem. The results suggest that in spite of the inherent differences and distinct features of each company, both have important similarities when tackling the same problem. These similarities could be translated to a general pattern conceptual model, which could be simulated as a generic (model)

Project-based collaborative engineering learning to develop Industry 4.0 skills within a PLM framework

    Get PDF
Training and learning methods for engineering students, in the disciplines of product design and manufacturing, are becoming more difficult and complex since they have to integrate theoretical technical knowledge, skills in computer-aided applications (CAx) and skills in collaborative work practices. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools support structured collaborative practices and CAx supports engineering content creation. Both types of software applications are key in the Industry 4.0 development. They also evolve over time, incorporate new functionalities, and change their graphical user interface (GUI), adding complexity to the learning process. Traditionally, engineering education addresses the learning of CAx and PLM tools separately, hindering a holistic learning experience to the students. This communication presents a structured integrated vision of these tools and their learning. Project-Based Learning (PBL) is proposed as a learning approach suitable to provide a learning experience that facilitates the development of Industry 4.0 skills and competences

Transport properties of the binary mixtures of the three organic liquids toluene, methanol, and cyclohexane

    Get PDF
We report on the measurements of diffusion (D), thermodiffusion (DT), and Soret (ST) coefficients in binary pairs of the ternary system toluene-methanol-cyclohexane using different instrumental techniques: microgravity measurements (SODI/DCMIX2) on the International Space Station, thermogravitational column in combination with sliding symmetric tubes, optical beam deflection, optical digital interferometry, and counter flow cell. The binary systems have large regions where the mixtures are either not miscible or the Soret coefficient is negative. All the coefficients have been measured over a wide composition range with the exception of a miscibility gap. Results from different instruments and literature data are in favorable agreement over a broad composition range. Additionally, we have carefully measured the physical properties and the optical contrast factors (dn/dc) p, T and (dn/dT)p,c. The latter ones were also calculated using the Looyenga equation. The measurements in methanol-cyclohexane mixture revealed a decay of the diffusion coefficient when approaching the miscibility gap. We have interpreted this in the spirit of the pseudospinodal concept

Characterization of Ti64 forging friction factor using ceramic coatings and different contact conditions

    Get PDF
Hot forging processes are highly influenced by the contact conditions between the billet and the dies. A wrong definition of the contact conditions may lead to wrong predictions of the final component geometry, the quantity of material necessary to fill in the cavity, the wear of the tools and the force necessary to manufacture the component. Furthermore, when dealing with titanium alloys, the alpha case formation due to oxidation is critical. For that reason, ceramic coatings are used to prevent billet oxidation during the heating stage and to improve the material flow lowering the friction coefficient between the billet material and tooling. In the present study, Ring Compression tests and T-Shape tests are carried out using ceramic-coated samples and friction behavior of Ti64 in contact with heated tool steel is studied. The final aim of the study has been to analyze the same tribo-system but having different contact pressures, sliding velocities and surface enlargement factors, which could affect the coating behavior. As a result, the friction coefficients are calculated for the above-mentioned tribo-tests by the comparison of the experimental data and numerical simulation results

Ikerlan honetan irakasletza graduko practicumeko ikasleekin hausnarketa partekatuan oinarritutako mintegiak dinamizatzeko tutoreek erabilitako laguntzak aztertu dira. Irakasle-gaiek praktiketan bizi dituzten egoera errealekiko taldean egiten dituzten hausnarketek praktiketako errealitatearekiko ulermen konplexuagoa izan eta teoria eta praktikaren arteko zubiak eraikitzen laguntzen dute. Unibertsitate mailan ikasleek beraien praktikarekin eta beraien praktikaz ikasteko esku-hartze estrategia eraginkorrenen artean tutoreen laguntzak azpimarratu dituzte hainbat ikertzailek. Ikerketa honetan Mondragon unibertsitateko 3 kasutan tutoreek irakasle-gaiei eskainitako laguntzak aztertu dira ikasleak hausnarketan trebatzeko espazio eraginkorrenak sortzeko xedez. In this research we have analyzed the aids that have been used by Practicum tutors of Teaching degree to lead the collaborative reflection sessions. The collaborative reflections that the students make on real situations lived in the practices help to understand better the contexts and to make relations between the theory and the practice. One of the most effective intervention strategies for students to learn from their own practice are the teacher’s aids. This research has analyzed the aids that have been used in three cases by the teachers of Mondragon Unibertsitatea with the aim of creating appropriate spaces for students to develop reflection capabilities

Methodology to Study Demagnetization Risk in Permanent Magnet Machines by Finite Element Method

    Get PDF
Nowadays the majority of applications are demanding more and more compact, cost effective and robust solutions for their electric drives. In this context permanent magnet synchronous machines are considered as a good candidate due to their high torque density. This torque density is obtained thanks to high power rare earth magnets with both high remanence and high coercive force. However, the magnets cost has a relevant impact in the final cost of the electrical machine and the uncertainty shown by the rare earth market in the last years has originated high variations in the price of them. Due to that, it is essential to reduce this impact in order to accomplish cost effective drive solutions. Some key points to face this problem are the reduction of the magnets volume or the using of magnets with worse thermal properties (magnets with few dysprosium and with low coercive force). In both cases special attention must be paid on the demagnetization risk of the magnets. To carry out that analysis, in this article a finite element method simulation analysis process for demagnetization of permanent magnets is presented. The developed method has been validated experimentally in a test bench. Good agreement is shown between simulations and experimental results

Gertuko erakundeak hezkuntza-sisteman parte hartzen : kultura-ondarearen transmisioa

Parte-hartzearen eremutik begiratuta, zein da tokiko erakundeen funtzioa hezkuntzaren kudeaketan, oro har, eta kultura-ondarearenean, zehatzago? Irakaskuntzaren monopolioa galdu du eskolak, eta, aldaketa-garai honetan, malgutasuna eta egokitzeko gaitasuna eskatzen zaizkio. Beraz, gero eta eragile eta agertoki gehiago daude irakaskuntzarekin harremanetan. Errealitate horrekin bat eginez, uste dugu tokikoa baztertu eta beste interes globalago batzuk gailendu direla. Artikulu honen xedea hezkuntzako eta gizarteko eragileen arteko komunikazioaren beharraz hausnartzea da, herritarrengandik gertuen dagoen erakundetik hasita, eta, hala, tokiko kultura-ondarearen ikaskuntzaren bitartez, komunitatearen elkarrekintza sustatzeko eredu sozioeraikitzaile bat diseinatzea.Since the scope of participation, what is the role of local management in general education institutions, and cultural heritage in particular? The school has lost the monopoly of education, and now social changes prompted greater flexibility and adaptability. They are therefore increasingly scenarios and agents related to teaching. Along with this reality, we believe, however, that the local has been marginalized by more global interests. The main objective of this article is to reflect on the need for greater communication between different social and educational agents, emphasizing especially the closer to the citizen institution, the city hall, to achieve, through the study of local cultural heritage, the design of an effective socio-constructive paradigm for community interaction
