Business model innovation through industry 4.0: a review
The following article presents a brief literature review conducted to extend our knowledge about how Industry 4.0 affects business models and to identify business model innovations derived in consequence. Based on the eesults, a set of features, issues and requirements have been identified and three different approaches has been suggested to make firms getting closer to the industry 4.0 phenomenon such as service orientation, networked
ecosystems and customer orientation. Furthermore, the impacts on the creation, delivery, and capture of value through the reconfiguration of Business Models due to embracing the Industry 4.0 are depicted. As a result, four different ways to innovate the business models based on different degrees of innovation are proposed to embrace the digitalization. Those paths goes from optimizing internal and external processes or improving customer relationship to creating new value networks or smart products and services through disruptive business model

This paper presents the implementation of a refer-ence architecture for Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) to supportCondition Based Maintenance (CBM) of industrial assets. The article focuses on describing how the MANTIS ReferenceArchitecture is implemented to support predictive maintenance of clutch-brake assets fleet, and includes the data analysis techniques and algorithms implemented at platform level to facilitate predictive maintenance activities. These technologiesare (1) Root Cause Analysis powered by Attribute Oriented Induction Clustering and (2) Remaining Useful Life powered by Time Series Forecasting. The work has been conducted in a real use case within the EU project MANTIS
La influencia de los entornos interactivos adaptados en la aceptación de interface industriales actuales
User experience is a growing field of research, which in recent years has gained considerable interest. During the last two decades, various models have been proposed to understand why users accept technologies and interactive environments. This information may be relevant for companies that are integrating technological solutions in their organizations so that they can create systems that do not generate adoption barriers and improve current industrial interfaces. This communication presents a study that analyzes the acceptance and behavioural intention to use an industrial interactive environment adapted to the users, focusing on the System Usability Scale (SUS). Based on obtained results, the study concludes that adapted interactive environments help to minimize the difficulty and effort perception.La experiencia de usuario es un campo de investigación en crecimiento, que en los últimos años ha ganado considerable interés. Durante las dos últimas décadas, han sido planteados diversos modelos para entender el por qué los usuarios aceptan las tecnologías y entornos interactivos. Esta información puede ser relevante para las compañías que están integrando soluciones tecnológicas en sus organizaciones, de forma que podrán crear sistemas que no generen barreras de adopción y mejorar las interfaces industriales actuales. Esta comunicación presenta un estudio que analiza la aceptación e intención de comportamiento durante el uso de un entorno interactivo industrial adaptado a los usuarios cogiendo como base la Escala de Usabilidad del Sistema (SUS). En base a los resultados obtenidos, el estudio concluye que los entornos interactivos adaptados ayudan a minimizar la percepción de dificultad y esfuerzo

Implementing Management Systems and Demand Driven MRP concepts : a Project Based Learning experience in Industrial Organization Engineering
This research work presents an experience of the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea using Project Based Learning (PBL) with the students of 4th semester of Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering (IOE).
The PBL delved into the concepts developed in the subjects of Management Systems and Production Logistics. The project was contextualized in a company that produced parts for the automotive sector. Teams of students implemented a management system that enabled the efficient management of materials and the production process using tools such as Demand Driven MRP (DDRMP). As a result, they had to solve the proposed problem, develop a simulation and choose the proposal that best met the needs of the company.
In order to assess PBL performance a survey was carried out. The results confirmed that the experience was positive since the achieved knowledge provided a meaningful learning experience for the students, while facilitating the development of both technical and transversal competences
Experiences relating to motherhood: aspects to consider for the promotion of child health
Introducción: en las consultas de Pediatría de Atención Primaria, una de las principales reivindicaciones
de las madres es la necesidad de sentirse comprendidas en el afrontamiento de su nuevo rol. Objetivo:
el presente estudio trata de conocer las vivencias que un grupo de mujeres relatan sobre la maternidad
para identificar los aspectos que tener en cuenta en la promoción de la salud infantil.
Material y métodos: estudio cualitativo con enfoque fenomenológico. Siete madres configuran la
muestra. Los grupos de discusión fueron grabados y transcritos para realizar el análisis de contenido.
Este se llevó a cabo de forma colaborativa siguiendo los cánones de la codificación abierta hasta la saturación teórica.
Resultados: las vivencias más relevantes se organizan en tres categorías. En cuanto a la relación con sus
hijos, subrayan que dicha relación les reporta “felicidad”, aunque señalan el “trabajo” como un obstáculo importante para ello. En referencia a ellas mismas se describen en “alarma constante”, “preocupadas”, con “miedo” frente a la crianza, y con la necesidad de tener “tiempo para ellas”. Respecto al apoyo
social, aseguran que, aunque sus parejas se “implican”, suelen “sentirse mal” por comentarios de sus
madres, y “presionadas” por los pediatras.
Conclusiones: la formación, si otorga importancia a la comunicación, puede hacer emerger en las consultas de Pediatría de Atención Primaria, relaciones que facilitan la reflexión de las madres sobre
la crianza, y que no culpabilizan para asegurar así la adhesión a las recomendaciones pediátricas y la
promoción de la salud infantil.Introduction: one of the main demands of mothers in paediatric primary care is to feel understood as
they take on this new role. Objective: the study aims at exploring the experiences of motherhood described by a group of women to identify the aspects that need considering for the purpose of child
health promotion.
Materials and methods: we conducted a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The
sample consisted of seven mothers. The discussion groups were recorded and their contents transcribed for subsequent analysis. The latter was performed collaboratively following the methodology
of open coding until theoretical saturation was achieved.
Results: the most relevant experiences could be fitted into three categories. When it came to their relationship with their children, mothers highlighted that it gave them “happiness,” although they
pointed out “work” as a significant barrier to it. When it came to themselves, they reported feeling
“constant alarm,” “worried” and “fearful” in regard to childrearing and needing “time for themselves”.
As for social support, they stated that while their partners were “involved,” they tended to “feel bad” in
response to comments made by their own mothers and also “pressured” by paediatricians.
Conclusions: emphasising communication skills during training could aid the development of doctorpatient rapport in paediatric primary care so that mothers can reflect on childrearing and not feel
blamed, thus promoting adherence to paediatric recommendations and consequently child health
El recomendador de Moodle como clave en la personalización del aprendizaje virtual
Cada vez son más los estudiantes que acceden a la
educación superior cursando sus estudios en la modalidad online.
En consecuencia, el número de datos generados en dichos cursos
aumenta significativamente [1]. Dichos datos pueden ser
utilizados para identificar patrones en los procesos de
aprendizaje y, por lo tanto, ofrecer recomendaciones a futuros
estudiantes. Y ese es el objetivo de esta comunicación: explorar la
percepción de los estudiantes y los docentes de la modalidad
online de los Grados de Educación e Ingeniería de Mondragon
Unibertsitatea hacia las recomendaciones ofrecidas en el entorno
virtual. El estudio que se presenta se llevó a cabo con 322
estudiantes y 10 docentes. La recogida de datos se realizó por
medio de cuestionarios y entrevistas semi-estructuradas. En
cuanto al alumnado, los resultados de los cuestionarios muestran
que los participantes perciben que las recomendaciones pueden
ser de gran utilidad para guiar su proceso de aprendizaje. El
análisis de las entrevistas realizadas con los docentes evidencia la
percepción de que las recomendaciones pueden ser de gran ayuda
en el proceso de aprendizaje. Sin embargo, los docentes
consideran que necesitan una formación pedagógica específica.
Las conclusiones de este estudio subrayan la importancia de la
personalización del aprendizaje en entornos virtuales
considerando de gran importancia la capacitación de los
docentes para la comprensión de datos provenientes de las
plataformas virtuales
Effect of cutting speed on the surface integrity of face milled 7050-T7451 aluminium workpieces
The guarantee of surface integrity has become a primary objective for researchers when analysing the reliability of machined aircraft aluminium alloy structural parts in high-speed machining. This work studies the effect of cutting speed on the surface integrity of face milled 7050-T7451 aluminium workpieces. First, 7050-T7451 aluminium workpieces were face milled under dry conditions using three cutting speeds (200, 800, 1400 m/min) at constant feed (0.20 mm/tooth) and depth of cut (1 mm). An indexable face milling cutter with a diameter of 50 mm with five uncoated inserts was used in the face milling tests. During the machining process, cutting forces were acquired employing a Kistler dynamometer in order to understand the influence of the mechanical load on the final surface quality. The surface roughness p roduced by the milling process was measured using a portable rugosimeter. The residual stresses generated by the cutting process were measured by the holedrilling technique. In addition, small specimens were cut out from the workpieces and microstructural alterations of the surface layer were analysed employing optical microscopy techniques. The results demonstrate that the magnitude of residual stresses and the thickness of the affected layer is sensitive to the cutting speed, while surface roughness and microstructural defects do not show significant variations for the tested conditions
