No full textBidang akademik Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Jaffray telah berusaha sebaik mungkin untuk melakukan pelayanan kepada mahasiswa sebagai konsumennya. Namun tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi bahwa selalu saja ada kekurangan dalam pelayanannya sehingga menimbulkan ketidakpuasan dari mahasiswa sebagai pelanggannya. Kenyataannya, kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik berbeda-beda. Oleh karena itu tujuan penulisan ini adalah Pertama, untuk menjelaskan sejauh mana tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa S1 terhadap pelayanan bidang akademik Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Jaffray Makassar berdasarkan hierarki kebutuhan Maslow. Kedua, menjelaskan bagaimana bidang akademik Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Jaffray Makassar melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya. Strategi untuk meningkatkan kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap layanan Akademik STFT Jaffray Makassar adalah perlunya melaksanakan hal-hal yang menjadi prioritas utama, seperti: pelayanan akademik mampu bertindak cepat atas setiap keluhan mahasiswa, adanya evaluasi di bidang akademik sendiri secara rutin untuk melihat sejauh mana tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa itu tercapai, sistem komputerisasi akademik yang sudah berjalan baik walaupun dinilai oleh mahasiswa masih perlu peningkatan lagi. Hal-hal yang harus dipertahankan oleh bidang akademik STFT Jaffray Makassar adalah pihak kampus harus terus memberikan keamanan dan Kenyamanan kepada mahasiswa, memberikan bimbingan akademik maupun konseling bagi mahasiswa yang mengalami kendala.The academic department of Sekolah Tinggi Filsafat Theologia Jaffray has striven to minister to students as consumers, the fact is, contentment differs among students toward the service given by academics. Because of this, the purpose of this writing is as follows: First, to explain how high the level of contentment is among bachelor level students towards the services of the department of academics of Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Jaffray based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Second, to explain how the academic department at Sekolah Tinggi Filsafat Theologia Jaffray carries out its tasks and responsibilities. The strategy to raise the satisfaction of the students toward the service of Academics at Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Jaffray is to carry out those things that have become the main priorities, such as: academic services is able to respond quickly to every student complaint, there will be a routine evaluation of the academic department alone to see how far the level of student satisfaction has been reached, an academic computer system that, although has already been running, according to students, needs to be improved. Those things that need to be maintained by the academic department of Sekolah Tinggi Filsafat Theologia Jaffray are that the campus must continue to give safety and comfort to its students, give student academic guidance as well as counseling to those students who have experienced obstacles/who have undergone school discipline

No full textYesus memberikan teladan bagaimana menjadi seorang gembala yang baik di mana gembala yang baik adalah gembala yang merawat atau memelihara kawanan domba dengan sepenuh hati bahkan rela mengorbankan nyawanya demi domba-dombanya (Yohanes 10:11). Tugas penggembalaan adalah tugas yang dipercayakan oleh Allah untuk dilaksanakan sesuai dengan petunjuk dan ketetapan dari Allah sendiri. Dalam 1 Petrus 5:1-4, dijelaskan tentang ciri khas dari gembala sidang yang membedakannya dengan pemimpin pada umumnya. Ciri khas tersebut harus menjiwai pelayanan seorang gembala sidang dalam melaksanakan tugas penggembalaan. Seorang gembala sidang harus melayani dengan sukarela, pengabdian diri, rendah hati dan mampu menjadi teladan yang baik.Jesus gives us a good example of how to become a good pastor in that a good pastor is a pastor who watches out for and takes care of his flock with his whole heart even willing to lay down his life for his sheep (John 10:11). The job of pastoring is a job that has been entrusted by God to be done in accordance with His instructions and statutes alone. Understanding of Wisdom in the Book of Daniel
No full textDaniel, Hananiah, Misael, and Azariah were young Jewish people who had been taken to Babylon in captivity. They truly obeyed God in their daily life and did not defile themselves with the king's food and wine. God honored their decision so He gave them wisdom, that is intellectual ability (knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning and understanding visions and dreams of all kinds). Their response to the wisdom from God was having a good life style, submitting to God, and carrying burdens. To continue the wisdom from God, they lived in unity, depended on God and had God's spirit in them. In doing their job, they spoke with wisdom and tact and worked honestly. In working with the king, they made a courageous decision not to worship the image of god and not to follow the king's command. In the king's palace, Daniel did not think for himself only, but had a burden to pray for Jerusalem, represent his nation before God, and fast for the future
Little Book, Big Waves: the Epistle of James and Global Stewardship in Bioethics
No full textAt first glance the twenty-first century arena of biotechnology and bioethics seems worlds away from the practical concerns of the first century outlook of the New Testament book of James. A closer look, however, reveals that the issues that James addresses have applications to challenges in bioethics. This article will give an overview of James and examine James' teaching on wealth, poverty, and generosity and its import for the issue of global stewardship in bioethics. Stewardship concerns both a Christian's care and management of time, talents, and treasures. Faithful use of the resources God has given demonstrates the fruitful faith that James writes of in his epistle. The idea of global stewardship, though “stewardship” is grounded in a distinctly Christian ethic, reflects an emerging discussion in bioethics regarding the need to address the inequities present between the money and time spent on biotechnology in some of the world in proportion to the money spent on meeting the basic healthcare needs of the poor of the entire world. This New Testament epistle gives clear indications of how the Christian is to view wealth and how the Christian is to respond to poverty. James, though a comparatively small book, sends a crucial message across the years that should greatly impact how Christians view stewardship in terms of global healthcare needs

No full textWhy is it that in most years, but not every year, Western Christians--both Catholic and Protestant--celebrate Easter at least one week before Eastern (Orthodox) Christians? Furthermore, since the Bible portrays the resurrection of Jesus as occurring on the Sunday morning directly after Passover, why is it that in many years both Eastern and Western Christians celebrate Easter more than a week after Passover, or even before Passover? The major key to understanding the cycle of annual dates for Passover, Orthodox Easter, and Western Easter is the Metonic Cycle, and how it was shaped and applied in three different historical contexts. This article seeks to explore the historical genesis of the Metonic Cycle and how it was applied to each of these festivals to yield the results we see today. No full textDalam Perjanjian Lama kecemburuan Allah selalu berada dalam konteks penyembahan berhala. Hukum Taurat yang kedua dengan jelas melarang penyembahan kepada patung oleh karena alasan ini yaitu Allah yang cemburu. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui arti kecemburuan Allah terhadap penyembahan berhala berdasarkan kitab Keluaran 20:4-6 dan implikasinya bagi kehidupan orang percaya. Adapun kesimpulan artikel ini adalah pertama, kecemburuan Allah terhadap penyembahan berhala menyatakan bahwa Allah tidak dapat direpresentasikan dalam bentuk apapun karena kecemburuan Allah ini menyatakan bahwa Ia adalah Allah yang kudus. Dengan demikian, hanya Allah satu-satunya yang harus disembah oleh orang percaya. Kedua, kecemburuan Allah terhadap penyembahan berhala menyatakan bahwa tidak boleh ada objek penyembahan yang lain selain kepada Allah karena penyembahan kepada berhala menandakan perzinaan rohani yang mengakibatkan kecemburuan Allah. Oleh karena itu, orang percaya harus menolak segala bentuk penyembahan berhala. Ketiga, penyembahan kepada berhala mendatangkan kecemburuan Allah karena kecemburuan Allah ini menyatakan kesetiaan-Nya atas perjanjian dengan umat-Nya. Dengan demikian, kecemburuan Allah seharusnya menjadi dasar dari penyembahan kepada Allah. Keempat, kecemburuan Allah atas penyembahan berhala mendatangkan hukuman karena kecemburuan Allah menyatakan keadilan-Nya dalam hal pemberian hukuman sebagai konsekuensi bagi penyembah berhala. Kelima, kecemburuan Allah atas penyembahan berhala menyatakan bahwa Allah mengasihi umat-Nya dan sekaligus menyatakan keadilan Allah dalam hal pemberian berkat bagi yang mengasihi-Nya. Kasih Allah mendasari hubungan-Nya dengan umat-Nya, dengan demikian kasih juga menjadi dasar hubungan orang percaya dengan Allah.In the Old Testament, the jealousy of God is always in the context of worshipping idols. The second commandment clearly prohibits the worshipping of statues for this reason, that God is jealous. This article is based on Exodus 20:4-6, and its purpose is to understand the meaning of God's jealousy with respect to the worship of idols and its implications in the lives of believers. Now, the summary of this article is firstly: the jealousy of God in respect to idolatry says that God cannot be represented in any shape or form whatsoever because the jealousy of God says that He is a God who is Holy. As such, only God Himself should be worshipped by believers. Secondly, the jealousy of God in respect to idolatry says that there is to be no other object of worship other than God because the worship of idols signifies spiritual adultery that results in the jealousy of God. Because of this, believers must reject all forms of idolatry. Thirdly, idolatry brings about the jealousy of God because of God's faithful covenant with His people. Thus, the jealousy of God should become the foundation of worship to God. Fourthly, the jealousy of God in relation to idolatry brings about judgment because the jealousy of God says that He is just when giving judgment as a consequence for worshipping idols. Fifthly, the jealousy of God in relation to idolatry says that God loves His people and at the same time says that God is just in giving blessings to those who love Him. The love of God underlies the relationship God has with His people. As such, love also becomes the foundation of the relationship believers have with God
