    No full text
International audienceThis presentation will focus on exposing a general methodology from classifiers, Time–Frequency Distributions, and dissimilarity measures for epileptic seizures detection.Based on a published paper in 2021, these points will be discussed :- Characterizing the evolution of the frequency content of a non-stationary signal as a function of time : Wavelet Transform vs Time–frequency representations- How to compute dissimilarities between EEG TFD and classify signals- Application and examples in Epileptic and neonatal EEG

    No full text
International audienceIn this work, conditions based on linear matrix inequalities are proposed to controller synthesis by feedback of sampled states, ensuring a guaranteed cost L 2 between the exogenous signal and the output of linear time-varying parameter systems (LPV) controlled via a network. The controller is robust to parametric variation and time-varying sampling. The approach used is based on modeling the problem by the input delay method and the use of loop functionals. The controller synthesis conditions obtained are less conservative than others found in the literature, as illustrated in the examples presented. This advantage of the proposed synthesis method comes from the loop functional used, which results in a (local) negativity problem of a second-degree polynomial in the delay. The results obtained suggest the superiority of the proposed technique in relation to that found in the literature. O controlador é robusto a variações paramétricas e a amostragens variantes no tempo.

Eating behavior changes with an online cognitive behavioral therapy program for weight loss in individuals with overweight or obesity: A pilot study

    No full text
International audienceSupporting individuals with overweight or obesity cannot rely on simplistic and directive recommendations aimed at energy restriction. Cognitive-behavioural approaches must be implemented. This pilot study analyses the effects of an online cognitive behavioral therapy program incorporating mindful eating and therapeutic education over a treatment duration of 6 to 9 months. Seventy patients (BMI 32.7 ± 3.1 kg/m2) were included in this program. Fifty-four subjects completed the study and were subject to statistical analysis. Weight, waist circumference, and energy intake significantly decreased (P < 0.02 for all three elements). Improved listening to internal hunger (P < 0.0001) and satiety signals (P < 0.03), as well as a decrease in emotional eating (P < 0.003) and external eating (P < 0.0001), were observed. The level of program adherence is positively associated with better outcomes for these two aspects. However, there were no changes in cognitive restriction, food pleasure, mood, and anxiety. Overall, these data highlight that this type of program can be useful in the management of overweight and obesity.L’accompagnement des personnes souffrant de surpoids ou d’obésité ne peut pas reposer sur des recommandations simplistes et autoritaires visant à obtenir une restriction énergétique.

Ionic liquids: history, conception, applications, and perspectives

    No full text
International audienceOver the last few decades, ionic liquids (ILs) have emerged as a class of innovative solvents with unique physico-chemical properties such as low vapor pressure, high thermal stability, high solvation capacity among others making them attractive for a wide range of applications. This literature review takes an in-depth look at the physico-chemical properties of ILs, focusing on their molecular structure, viscosity, electrical conductivity, solvation power, density, and polarity. In addition, various methods for ILs syntheses are discussed, including conventional approaches and more recent synthetic methods such as green chemistry. In addition to their advantages, this review also addresses the environmental concerns associated to ILs, such as their toxicity, biodegradability, and recyclability. Finally, this review explores a large range of ILs applications in various fields, including catalytic chemistry, enzymatic synthesis, electrochemistry, extraction of bioactive molecules, depollution, and metals recovery. In summary, this review highlights the growing importance of ILs as alternative solvents and promoters to replace conventional organic solvents, while highlighting the challenges and opportunities associated with their use in a variety of applications.</div
