The aim of this paper is to explain the importance of using music and conducting musical activities in early childhood and preschool age, as well as the impact of music on the development of speech in children of these age groups. The first paragraf will first discuss the child as a being full of interest and potential, as well as what music is and various definitions of music. Furthermore, it will explore music as a branch of the arts, and consequently, music as a means of aesthetic or artistic education. The musical abilities of children from early childhood through preschool age, from the fourth month to the ninth year, will be explained. Then, we will discuss what speech is and how it originates and develops from birth up to the age of seven, explaining the development of speech through non-verbal and verbal phases. To connect speech and music, we will talk about intonation, rhythm, intensity, tension, pause, tempo, mimicry, and gestures as values of speech, as well as the roles of rhythm, melody, dynamics, tempo, and tension in the basic structural components of speech. Additionally, we will discuss communication and speech disorders, mentioning some of the most common disorders, such as articulation disorders, stuttering, cluttering, bradylalia, and hearing impairment. The importance of music in therapy, or music therapy, will be highlighted. It will then be explained how music can help correct the aforementioned vocal and speech communication disorders. Finally, the paper will explain what counting rhymes, songs, active listening, and singing games are, and will provide quality examples for conducting these activities in kindergartens

Play among preschool children can be understood as a fundamental characteristic of their culture. It serves as a platform for children’s development, allowing them to independently select activities and socialize with peers. Through play, children naturally discover their interests and develop a wide range of skills, including motor, socio-emotional, linguistic, verbal, cognitive, and others. Given the natural and pivotal role of play in child development, this study delves into how play can be strategically utilized to foster children’s language development. The primary objective of this research was to investigate educators' perspectives and experiences regarding the stimulation of language development through play. The study begins by defining play, its attributes, types, and the role of educators within play contexts. Aktivno sudjelovanje u ovim aktivnostima također doprinosi razvoju koordinacije, ravnoteže i socijalnih kompetencija i drugih vrijednosti važnih za njihov cjeloviti razvoj. Folklore, which includes traditions, songs and dances of past generations, plays a key role in connecting children to their culture and identity. Through participation in folklore activities, children not only adopt traditional values, but also develop basic musical skills. Getting acquainted with various forms of musical activity, such as counting beacons, lullabies, singing games, songs, children associated with traditional music creativity and cultural heritage. Active participation in these activities also contributes to the development of coordination, balance and social competences and other values of importance for their overall development. This is in line with the National curriculum for early childhood Education and care (NKRPOO, 2015) highlighting the development of children's competences in the field of cultural awareness; and expressions, in particular through different artistic fields, including music. Accordingly, in Croatia is encouraged to participate in kindergarten folklore activities, for example within cultural and artistic societies. An important role in this is played by a high-quality leader who, understands the needs of each child and adapts folklore activities to their interests; and developmental abilities. It is also essential that children participate voluntarily in activities, to be relaxed and motivated. Children participating in kindergarten folklore activities acquire the knowledge and skills that maybe she wouldn't adopt in kindergarten programs. It is therefore important to encourage the development of these values, in order to develop children in kindergarten and kindergarten settings into active guardians traditions and cultural heritage

Monitoring the growth and development of children is the best way to determine the quality of their health and the need for preventive action at the individual and population levels. Common practice is the use of anthropometric standards by the World Health Organization. The results obtained from the research showed that there are statistically significant differences in seven of the eight measured variables. Boys were better in all strength and coordination tests, and girls were equal to boys in the flexibility test. The body mass index indicated that there was no obesity among the examined children, and the height measurements also showed no deviations

The starting point of this work are thematic frameworks in the children's poetry of Grigor Vitez. Literature emphasizes nature, which includes animals and landscape, humanity, humor, play, childhood, daydreaming, imagination and the concept of de-pedagogization as the main thematic determinants. Grigor Vitez believed that poetry, as far as it is the art of words, should not strive for pedagogical instruction but should be aimed at freedom so instruction can occur incidentally. The aim of this thesis is to explore and analyze the thematic focus in Grigor Vitez's children's poetry, also to identify and categorize the most represented and less represented themes in his collections of children's poetry. The results of the analysis show that the thematic focus of animalism and de-pedagogization predominates in the Quail collection, while the themes of landscape and humor appear in the Hundred Wolf and other poems for children. In the collection If trees walked, the themes of landscape, childhood, imagination and daydreaming, as well as pedagogization are pointed out. In the poems from the collections One morning in the garden and Behind the hill, animalism is presented. childhood, play and humanity are intertwined in the collection Catch the thief, while the themes from the collection Where stories grow are the most diverse: landscape, childhood, play, imagination and daydreaming. The most common themes in Vitez's children's poetry are landscape and animal studies. Nature is present in almost all of Vitez's poems and, although it is not the main theme, it stands out as an accompanying motiv. Humanity and de-pedagogization are thematic focuses that are least mentioned in Grigor Vitez's poetry but when they appear, they have specific characteristics: humanity stands out through rare displays of kindness, while de-pedagogization shows that lessons in poems are not always intentional but subtly

Rad naglašava važnost poticanja tjelesne aktivnosti i razvoja motoričkih sposobnosti kod djece radi prevencije pretilosti i promocije zdravog rasta i razvoja. The degree of nutrition of children helps in assessing the site if the child is within the characteristic limits for his age and at all points to potential deviations, for this reason it is important to monitor the physical growth and nutrition of children. BMI is used to define the relationship between weight and height, and thanks to with this index, it is possible to establish and classify the level of nutrition of an individual. The nutritional status of children is influenced by numerous factors, ranging from socioeconomic status, eating habits to the level of physical activity, family, etc. The determination of nutritional status is carried out in accordance with internationally recognized standards. The aim of the research was to determine the level of children's motor skills and their influence on the state of nutrition, especially with an emphasis on excessive nutrition. The research was conducted on a sample of 33 preschool children, using standardized tests to assess motor skills and measuring body mass index (BMI) as an indicator of nutrition in children aged six years. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the motor skills of preschool children are developed in accordance with their age. However, the influence of motor skills on body mass is not statistically significant in all cases, and implies that there are other factors that also influence the state of children's nutrition. BMI does not have a statistically significant effect on the motor skills of children in this study. The paper emphasizes the importance of encouraging physical activity and the development of motor skills in children in order to prevent obesity and promote healthy growth and development

This thesis aims to present educators' attitudes towards the introduction of compulsory swimming lessons in kindergartens. Swimming is a significant physical activity that contributes to children's overall physical, psychological, and social development. In addition to improving motor skills, coordination, and endurance, swimming positively impacts cardiovascular health and respiratory functions, reducing the risk of obesity and other health issues. Moreover, swimming fosters the development of self-confidence, social skills, and positive personality traits, thereby enhancing the quality of life for children. Quality education and training for educators, as well as their collaboration with parents and experts, are crucial for the successful integration of swimming into kindergartens. The research was conducted using an online survey method. A total of 164 educators from various regions of Croatia, of different genders, ages, employment levels, and educational backgrounds, participated in the study. The survey included socio-demographic data and statements that respondents rated from 1 to 5 on a Likert scale, along with short and longer-form responses. The research results showed that educators generally recognize the importance and benefits of swimming, highlighting its positive effects on physical health, motor development, self-confidence, and children's safety near water. The data analysis concluded that educators support compulsory swimming lessons, but not all are interested in additional training or activities related to compulsory swimming lessons

This paper explores social and emotional learning (SEL) and bibliotherapy, examining their historical evolution, various forms, and the potential for integrating bibliotherapy into educational settings to foster SEL among students. The study investigates how teachers can utilize bibliotherapy to promote social and emotional growth, demonstrating that careful selection of appropriate literature can reduce bullying, support victims, and assist aggressive children in improving their behavior. Furthermore, the paper illustrates how bibliotherapy can be effectively applied to help students better understand their emotions, develop self-awareness, and enhance self-worth and confidence through lessons. Additionally, it highlights the role of bibliotherapy in developing social skills, tolerance, and empathy, as literary characters often navigate situations and emotions similar to those experienced by readers, which can be particularly beneficial for individuals who may struggle to articulate their own emotions. Moreover, the paper discusses how bibliotherapy can serve as a valuable tool for addressing sensitive topics in literature, such as parental divorce, single-parent families, adoption, foster care, LGBT parenting, and various forms of abuse. The paper is supported by numerous examples of teaching methodologies and recommendations for literary works that can be used as alternative texts to address the selected themes. The final chapter emphasizes the crucial role of teachers in implementing bibliotherapy, highlighting the challenges and limitations they may encounter. It also offers recommendations for enhancing the application of bibliotherapy within SEL, with the objective of encouraging and motivating both current and future educators to integrate this method into their work with students

Rezultati pokazuju prisutnost tradicionalnih rodnih stereotipa u odijevanju, zanimanjima i ponašanju likova, dok ova animirana serija također nudi pozitivne modele izražavanja emocija putem neverbalne komunikacije. This paper examines the role of the popular animated series "Peppa Pig" in explaining gender stereotypes and nonverbal communication among preschool-aged children. The study is based on a theoretical framework that emphasizes the role of media in shaping social norms and social skills in children. The aim of the paper is to qualitatively analyze the presence of gender stereotypes and nonverbal communication in selected episodes of this animated series. The findings reveal the presence of traditional gender stereotypes in the clothing, occupations, and behavior of the characters, while also highlighting positive models of emotional expression through nonverbal communication. It is concluded that media content like "Peppa Pig" can significantly impact children's development, underscoring the importance of active participation by parents and educators in children's media literacy to reduce the negative effects of gender stereotypes and foster the development of social and emotional skills in preschool children

The Role Of Fathers In Children Lives

The topic of this thesis is to explore the role of fathers in the lives of early and preschool children. Nowadays, when there are more and more breakdowns of marriages in which parents cannot mutually and independently agree on custody and meeting and seeing children, the intervention of the competent Social Welfare Centers and competent Courts is very necessary. In this paper, the goal was to explore the relationship, encounters and views of children with fathers who are not the primary caregivers of their children using the interview method. The interview was conducted with ten fathers and they were asked six questions each. The results are mixed, but more fathers do not have a good relationship with the mother of their children and feel that because of this, they see their own children too little or not at all. Four of them see their children according to the decision of the Center for Social Welfare. From this interview, it is easy to conclude that society is still traditional and considers fathers less important than mothers. A child needs both a father and a mother in his life, preventing him from meeting and seeing one of the parents, sometimes leaves and emotional mark on the child
