Rice is considered one of the most important crops and foodstuffs. Due to its importance as one of the most represented foodstuffs in the world, it is necessary to pay special attention to its transport. Since rice in maritime transport is most often carried in bags, this paper deals with the technology of transporting rice in bags by sea. The types of rice found in maritime transport and the most common cargo damages that can occur during transport are described. Furthermore, the paper presents measures during loading, transporting and discharging cargo that can significantly reduce cargo damage and cargo claims

Osim navedenoga, planiranje putovanja nalazi svoje elemente u MARPOL konvenciji i drugim mnogobrojnim rezolucijama i preporukama. Voyage planning is one of the most important tasks given to ship officers. It is a voyage plan from berth to berth elaborated to the smallest detail to ensure the safety of the ship, her cargo and crew. It is mainly done on commercial cargo ships that always make trips between different ports. While in liner shipping ships sail on the same voyage plan all the time. Voyage planning is a detailed procedure with basic elements indicated in Resolution A.893(21) of the International Maritime Organization. Besides the IMO Resolution, voyage planning is also mentioned in the SOLAS and STCW conventions, two of the four main pillars of shipping. In addition to the above, voyage planning finds its elements in the MARPOL convention and many other resolutions and guidelines. Due to the development of new technologies such as Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), the procedure is facilitated in certain elements. This system primarily facilitates the recognition of dangers on the planned voyage; helpful information is displayed in digital form, more detailed planning of the voyage is enabled, and its supervision and navigation itself. In this direction, resolutions have been developed which must unify and standardize ECDIS systems in the maritime world. This paper aims to show and compare a school example of voyage planning in the Sund strait and the same voyage planned on a ship by a certified navigator officer

U posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća, a sve do pojave Corona virusa turizam u svijetu neprestano raste. In the last few decades world tourism has been in constant growth. In some destinations it came up to a point of saturation, which negatively affected the community and the environment. The media is reporting about this phenomenon using the word overtourism. That’s the case in the town of Dubrovnik too, as one of the world's most famous tourist destinations. The way the media is reporting is influencing traveler’s and habitants' way of thinking. If the media is taste-makers, it means they are placing the trend, and if they’re following the trends it means they are reporting about the real events. This thesis determines the concept of overtourism with a special analysis of Dubrovnik’s tourism. In order to confirm the hypothesis, there have been two types of analysis. First is quantitative and it shows the statistics about the tourism in Dubrovnik, which is in constant growth. Qualitative analysis is content analysis of Dubrovački vjesnik as a representative newspaper of the town of Dubrovnik. The analysis has been done over a span of 10 years, from 2009. up to 2019. Content analysis showed the constant growth of negative impacts over the years which follows statistics about the constant growth of tourism. That leads to permanent negative changes in prosperity and quality of life of habitants, which confirms the hypothesis. According to that, the conclusion is that overtourism can’t be measured by only one way, but it has to be measured quantitatively and qualitatively. The measurement is supposed to be done in the early phase of tourism in order to not become overtourism

KPR uključuje bazične tj. osnovne (BLS; eng, Basic life support) i napredne (ALS; eng. „kupuju“ vrijeme do defibrilacije, rješavaju problem opskrbe pluća kisikom davanjem umjetnog disanja i prijenosom kisika u tkiva masažom srca. Među njima 24% obnavlja znanje svake dvije godine (10% u bolničkim i 14% u izvanbolničkim djelatnostima), a 14% svake četiri godine (8% u bolničkim i 6% u izvanbolničkim djelatnostima). Većina zdravstvenih djelatnika sestrinstva iz obje skupine još uvijek nema dostatne mogućnosti za kontinuiranu obnovu znanja iz KPR-a.INTRODUCTION: Reanimation procedures, i.e. cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), consists of a set of resuscitation measures that are taken to restore vital functions to a patient who has stopped breathing and/or whose heart has stopped beating. CPR includes basic (BLS; eng. Basic life support) and advanced (ALS; eng. Advanced life support) life support measures. BLS is started immediately, i.e. "on the spot" by ensuring the patency of the airway, giving artificial respiration and external heart massage in order to establish and ensure basic oxygen supply to vital organs. ALS are added after the implementation of basic life support measures and include the use of all available modern aids and devices for maintaining cardiopulmonary function. AIM: The aim of this paper was to collect information using anonymous survey to determine the extent of the knowledge and familiarity with the BLS and ASL life support methods among the hospital and non-hospital staff, from the point of view of the timing of their first encounter with CPR, the level of education and the frequency with which the staff refresh their CPR knowledge. Finally, the aim was also to determine who has comparatively better theoretical knowledge of CPR: the hospital or non-hospital staff. METHODS: The prospective survey covered 72 respondents – members of nursing profession in both hospital and non-hospital positions. Data were collected through an anonymous Google interface-based survey. The survey was composed of 15 questions, covering the respondents’ demographic data, level of education, theoretical and practical knowledge of BLS and ALS CPR procedures, as well as the incidence of continuous CPR training among the respondents. The data thus collected were presented in a tabular format. The analysis and the comparison of the results were processed using the IBM_SPSS_ver21 statistical model. A statistically significant difference was accepted at the value of P<0.05. RESULTS: The majority of nursing staff first learn about CPR in high school (58%; both the hospital and non-hospital staff at an equal rate of 29%) and as part of the driving school programme (22%). 64% of the respondents know how to apply the BLS procedure of CPR, 35% know how to apply the ASL procedure of CPR, while 1% of respondents do not know how to apply the full CPR protocol. Only 28% of respondents have an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of CPR. Among them, 24% refresh their knowledge every two years (10% among the hospital staff and 14% among the non-hospital staff); 14% every four years (8% among the hospital and 6% among the non-hospital staff). It is important to emphasise that 63% of respondents did not have an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of CPR either in the hospital (32%) or in the non-hospital setting (31%). CONCLUSION: Although the nursing staff both in the hospital and non-hospital settings are trained in CPR in high school, only 35% have knowledge on application of ALS methods, while 1% would still not know how to apply the CPR protocol. Furthermore, the hospital nursing staff have a higher level of CPR knowledge, albeit by a statistically insignificant margin. The majority of the nursing healthcare professionals in either setting still do not have sufficient opportunity to refresh their knowledge of CPR on a continuous basis

One of the most difficult tasks that most companies face today is acquiring loyal consumers and creating a widely recognized brand. A bigger problem than acquiring loyal consumers or attracting new ones is keeping them and finding ways to satisfy their wishes and needs constantly and in the best and most efficient way possible. In order to attract customers in the right way, it is first necessary to research the market where certain products or services will be offered to the target group of consumers. Market research is carried out in such a way that, with the help of certain information, consumers, that is, buyers and the public, are connected with the offer on the market. The information obtained is used to detect or define problems on the market, as well as to detect opportunities and potential solutions. They are also used to understand marketing as a process and to monitor all marketing activities and improve marketing activities. Research for marketing purposes determines the information needed to solve certain questions and prepares methods for collecting information, manages the process, analyzes and communicates the results and their implications. The term consumer behavior most often refers to the actions or behavior that a certain consumer displays during the search, purchase, use and evaluation of a product or service offered by the provider. It is necessary to constantly monitor the purchase process itself and determine all factors within the process so that companies can successfully and efficiently meet the needs of their users. So, the purpose of studying behavior is to understand or investigate how and in what way individuals will spend their money and time in order to buy a certain product or service, and this process is very demanding due to the existence of a large number of different customers with different needs. The purpose of writing the thesis is to investigate brand loyalty on the example of the Hilton hotel. Secondary data for the preparation of the thesis were collected from scientific and professional literature and from Internet sites, and primary data were collected through research. Therefore, the goal was to investigate how loyal consumers are to Hilton as a brand and how often they use it and how satisfied they are with the services provided to them. The research was conducted on a sample of 100 respondents who stayed at least once in one of the Hilton hotels. The research was conducted in the period from June 1. until August 28, 2022. The results of the research show that users of Hilton hotels are loyal to the brand, especially because of the quality of the service, which is always at the highest level, and that they will remain loyal to the Hilton brand regardless of the destination they travel to

Perception of Konavle as a Destination of Active Tourism

    No full text
The municipality of Konavle is located in the southernmost part of the Republic of Croatia. Due to its geographical position, this region is rich in natural and cultural resources that are particularly suitable for the development of active tourism. Active tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years, and its popularity was further fuelled by the coronavirus pandemic as numerous tourist destinations have been forced to start looking into ways to diversify the existing tourist offer. In the wider Dubrovnik region, however, no in-depth analysis on this subject that would allow for an adequate development strategy to be formed has been carried out. Thus, this graduate thesis focuses on researching the perception of Konavle as a destination of active tourism. The starting point are the attitudes and opinions of the local population for any sustainable development originates from the perception and support of local people. The research was carried out by means of a questionnaire fulfilled by adult respondents from the municipalities of Konavle, Zupa Dubrovacka, and Grad Dubrovnik. The respondents assessed Konavle as a destination of active tourism based on five variables: recognition, potential, promotion, information, and infrastructure. In addition, information on the level of physical activity of the respondents was collected (moderate, intense and strength exercises). The results of the analysis of 156 valid questionnaires showed that the respondents recognize Konavle as a destination of active tourism relatively well, though they do not see it as the main area for active tourism in the region. The potential of Konavle for the development of active tourism received high notes. This was not the case for the variable promotion which registered low average values. The same is true for the last two variables, information and infrastructure, where there is also an additional element of relatively unexpressed attitudes, which could be attributed to the lack of personal experience or lack of interest. A cluster analysis was also performed, which yielded four clusters – from the most physically active to the least active. The composition of the clusters indicated a possible connection between physical activity and the perception of Konavle as a destination of active tourism, but for clearer conclusions it would be necessary to carry out deeper analyses. The conducted research gave an insight into the real situation and brought about the first indicative information about the observed topic. Given its relevance and the growing interest in active tourism, the data collected, and the results obtained are a promising starting point for additional analyses that will dive deeper into the observed issue and provide a sound basis for the development of both the tourism development strategy in the municipality of Konavle as well as accompanying marketing activities of high quality

S razvojem saznanja o anatomiji ramena rastu i spoznaje kako o pato-anatomskim uzorcima i vrstama ozljeda struktura ramena tako i o načinima liječenja problema s ramenom. U ovom radu bit će prikazana minimalno invazivna metoda liječenja nestabilnosti ramena, takozvana artroskopska stabilizacija ramena. The purpose of this study is to present the latest research in the diagnosis and treatment of the unstable shoulder, with special reference to the shoulder instability in the professional female athletes. The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body. The mobility of the shoulder is ensured by the special anatomical relationship of the of the joint bodies, ligaments and muscles surrounding the shoulder joint. Being mobile in all planes, enables humans to perform even the most complex tasks with their hand during everyday routine or during professional work or sports activities. For the aforementioned, besides mobility, stability of the shoulder is another important issue to assure all the activities with upper extremities. On the other hand, such a huge mobility, shoulder joint anatomy and usage of the shoulder in all activities, starting from the simplest tasks during sedentary life to the most demanding ones, such as are necessary in the large number of sports, makes the shoulder especially exposed to a variety of different injuries. With the continuous research of the shoulder anatomy and patho-anatomical patterns of different injuries, increases also the knowledge about the best ways of treatment of various shoulder problems. This paper will present a minimally invasive method for shoulder instability treatment, the so-called arthroscopic stabilization of the shoulder. A group of the sports-active patients who were treated in the Special hospital Aksis, Zagreb, will be statistically analyzed. Active female athletes will be selected and analyzed separately

Coronavirus disease 2019 abbreviated: COVID-19, is a viral disease caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The disease was officially confirmed in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan, China. The first recorded case of the disease was on November 17, 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic due to the rapid spread of this disease, but as the number of infected people grew and covered more and more continents and countries, the WHO declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020. An infectious epidemic in humans can cause a series of stress reactions, health-risk behaviors, an increased imbalance between work and private life, and the appearance of psychosomatic symptoms. All of the above can damage our mental health, or for people who already have some mental or psychological disorders, it can lead to a worsening of the condition. The goal of the research is to show how users with psychosocial disorders from the Lukjernica Association adapted to the "new normal" and what their social life became during the coronavirus pandemic. The quality of their social life will be shown with a short questionnaire that was constructed especially for the needs of this presentation. 35 users of the association were anonymously surveyed with a questionnaire, of which 19 were male and 16 female, whose average age was 37. The research results show that the users of the association are satisfied with the very existence of the association during the pandemic and lockdown as a place where they can be with friends and colleagues. They also show users that their relationships with family and friends have improved during the pandemic, and that they have found alternative methods of socializing with them, such as mobile devices and the Internet. Due to the satisfaction of users with psychosocial disorders, this research has confirmed that associations that care for people with psychological disorders are needed by the community, and they should all be encouraged to work together
