Töö esimeses osas antakse ülevaade üldistatud lineaarsetest mudelitest, sealhulgas logistilisest ja Poissoni regressioonist, koos illustreeriva näitega šansside muutuse kohta. Teises osas kirjeldatakse kasutatud andmestikku ning tehakse kirjeldav analüüs. Töö kolmandas osas hinnatakse logistilist ja Poissoni regressiooni mudeleid, et analüüsida ravijärgimuse mõju psühhiaatriaosakonda hospitaliseerimise riskile

Europeanization in the context of the European Capital of Culture: analysis of the effects of budget and population size
Get PDFThe European Capital of Culture (ECoC) is one of the greatest tools of the EU Cultural Policy. The ECoC allows for selected cities in the EU, and candidate states to be promoted in the European and international spotlight. Furthermore, it acts as a catalyst for development being viewed a ‘mega-event’. However, winning a ECoC nomination requires years of work leading up to the title year. The ECoC acts as a tool furthering Europeanization among the selected cities by having to satisfy the criteria of the ECoC. This thesis argues that population and budget sizes of ECoC cities impacts the process of Europeanization. Through the theoretical framework of Europeanization, the analysis focuses on four interviews with ECoC officials combined with qualitative content analysis of ECoC monitoring reports to uncover understanding of how the population size and the budget of the ECoCs affects the process of Europeanization.https://www.ester.ee/record=b5755870*es
Shared Engagement in Digital Environments with Extended Reality and Tangible Interaction
Get PDFEmergent interactive technologies -- such as extended reality (XR) and its related subcategories augmented, virtual and mixed reality-- are increasingly used in interdisciplinary research endeavors. These technologies aim to explore how smart glasses and headsets that overlay digital objects may support the design of collaborative experiences that enhance human interactions in the physical world. In this short paper, we briefly outline the possibilities of immersive technologies for research and how the Extrality Lab at Stockholm University serves as an infrastructure to prototype state-of-the-art solutions that merge physical tangible interaction and virtual environments in novel applications. We also describe how 3D digital tools may be used for research purposes, taking as
an example the project SECE, which aims to study novel interactions, technology-supported artistic expressions, and the future of mobile computing in a cross-disciplinary team in Stockholm. More details about the Extrality Lab at https://extralitylab.dsv.su.se/
The Principles of Musical Composition in Lauri Lagle’s Productions
Get PDFSummary available in English / Kokkuvõte inglise keelesThe article draws on David Roesner’s book Musicality in Theatre: Music as Model, Method and Metaphor in Theatre-Making. But it extends Roesner’s dichotomy into a threefold division, treating musicality in theatre as a particular creative method (chapter 1), then as an aesthetic model (chapter 2), and finally as a metaphor—idea or material (chapter 3). The chapters tackle the following keywords: 1.1. ensemble, 1.2. musical instruments as agents, 2.1. numerical structure, 2.2. operatic emotion, 3.1. sound material and 3.2. abstract imagery.
I have grouped these keywords into chapters according to the theatrical process and the different points of view (director and company versus spectator). Chapter 1 is related to both rehearsal processes and performing, i.e. principles of troupe formation, director’s working principles, rehearsal processes and performances should be examined. For the analysis I drew on interviews with the director, multiple viewings and video recordings of the productions. The phenomena discussed in chapter 2 are explored predominantly through performance analysis. Chapter 3 is related to the sensory and cognitive reception of the performance and the philosophical-theoretical preparation of the spectator.

Antonio Elio “Cipher” and his Polyphonic-Syllabic Cipher
Get PDFAntonio Elio (Helius) (1506–1576) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Capodistria and Pola and Titular Patriarch of Jerusalem. Also a prolific cryptographer in the service of Pope Paul III, he is credited for the invention of polyphonic ciphers. In this article, we provide an overview of his career and work in cryptography and describe an ingenious polyphonic-syllabic cipher he designed. Although several matching plaintext-ciphertext segments were available, reconstructing the cipher key required a significant and unusual amount of time, underscoring the cipher’s high level of security. Ciphertext-only cryptanalysis for such a cipher would be extremely difficult and nearly impossible, even with modern computing, without prior knowledge of the principles of its complex design
