    Autopercepción de la calidad del sueño durante la pandemia de COVID-19: Factores de riesgo y protección

    The situation derived from the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and lockdowns ordered to control the pandemic led to unprecedented problems in different areas of people’s well-being. This study aimed to explore the acute effects of the first lockdown on self-perceived sleep quality, as well as the risk/protective factors that modulated this impact. The sample was composed by 1,275 respondents ranging in age from 18 to 55 years. Participants wererecruited during the COVID-19 first lockdown in Spain. They wereevaluated regarding theirself reported sleep problems before and during lockdown, as well as other areas related to the impact of lockdown (e.g., on diet, physical activity, or use of digital media), psychological states (positive and negative affect), and traits (impulsivity). Most participants (66.7%) reported a decrease in their self-perceived sleep quality during the pandemic. Correlational analyses showed that maintaining good levels of physical activity and diet quality during the pandemic were positively associated with sleep quality; furthermore, greater levels of positive affect, living in bigger homes during lockdown, and age were positively associated with sleep quality as well. On the contrary, negative affect, female sex, and the impact of the pandemic on various domains (mental health, relationship quality, personal finances, and the use of digital media) were negatively related to self-perceived sleep quality. In brief, this study supports the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on self-perceived sleep quality and provides a preliminary foundation for identifying protective and risk factors contributing to sleep quality during lockdowns and other situations of distress.La situación derivada de la enfermedad por Coronavirus (COVID-19) y los sucesivos confinamientos ordenados para controlar la pandemia llevaron a problemas sin precedentes en diferentes aspectos del bienestar de las personas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo explorar los efectos agudos del primer confinamiento en la calidad del sueño autopercibida, así como los factores de riesgo y protectores que pueden modular este impacto. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 1,275 encuestados con edades entre 18 y 55 años. Los participantes fueron reclutados durante el primer confinamiento por COVID-19 en España. Se les evaluó en relación con sus problemas de sueño autoinformados antes y durante el confinamiento, así como en otras áreas relacionadas con el impacto del confinamiento (por ejemplo, en la dieta, la actividad física o el uso de medios digitales), estados psicológicos (afecto positivo y negativo) y rasgos (impulsividad). La mayoría de los participantes (66.7%) informaron de una disminución en la calidad del sueño percibida durante la pandemia. Los análisis correlacionales mostraron que mantener buenos niveles deactividad físicaycalidad dela dieta durantela pandemiaestaban positivamente asociados con la calidad del sueño; además, niveles mayores de afecto positivo, vivir en hogares más grandes durante el confinamiento y la edad también estaban positivamente asociados con la calidad del sueño. Por el contrario, el afecto negativo, el ser mujer y el impacto de la pandemia en varios dominios (salud mental, calidad de las relaciones, finanzas personales y el uso de medios digitales) estaban negativamente relacionados con la calidad del sueño percibida. Así pues, esta investigación sustenta el impacto de la pandemia de COVID- 19 en la calidad del sueño percibida y proporciona una base preliminar para identificar factores protectores y de riesgo que contribuyen a la calidad del sueño durante el confinamiento y otras situaciones de estrés

    Explorando los Escape Rooms educativos para la transformación social: una propuesta didáctica basada en la investigación

    This article introduces an innovative educational proposal focused on the use of educational escape rooms to teach Social Psychology, with a particular emphasis on the analysis and reflection on stereotypes. This approach, grounded in service-learning, aims to develop collaborative, communicative, and empathetic skills in social education students through a descriptive methodology. A convenience sample of 41 students, selected for their willingness to participate in a specific workshop designed for this study, will be used. The proposal involves students in the design and development of escape rooms that incorporate challenges and puzzles centered on stereotypes, promoting a practical application of theoretical knowledge. This pedagogical methodology intends not only to enhance the understanding of key Social Psychology concepts but also to provide a more participatory and stimulating educational experience. It is anticipated that active interaction and practical focus will significantly improve knowledge retention and analytical and problem-solving skills. The project also includes a phase of continuous evaluation, in which specific instruments will be used to collect feedback on students’ cooperation and communicative effectiveness, as well as the impact of the experience on their learning and perception of stereotypes. This data will help verify the effectiveness of the escape room as an educational tool and its ability to modify pre-existing perceptions. This approach emerges as a dynamic and effective methodology for teaching complex social issues, such as stereotypes. It is expected that this methodology will not only actively involve students but also serve as a practical environment for reflection and social action, thereby enhancing their critical analysis skills and empowerment for civic action.Este artículo introduce una propuesta didáctica innovadora enfocada en el uso de escape rooms educativos para enseñar Psicología Social, con un énfasis particular en el análisis y la reflexión sobre estereotipos. Este enfoque, fundamentado en el aprendizaje-servicio, busca desarrollar habilidades colaborativas, comunicativas y de empatía en estudiantes de educación social mediante una metodología descriptiva. Se empleará una muestra de conveniencia de 41 estudiantes, seleccionados por su disposición a participar en un taller específico diseñado para este estudio. La propuesta involucra a los estudiantes en el diseño y desarrollo de escape rooms que integran desafíos y acertijos centrados en estereotipos, promoviendo una aplicación práctica de conocimientos teóricos. Esta metodología pedagógica pretende no solo mejorar la comprensión de conceptos clave de Psicología Social, sino también ofrecer una experiencia educativa más participativa y estimulante. Se anticipa que la interacción activa y el enfoque práctico mejoren significativamente la retención del conocimiento y las habilidades analíticas y de resolución de problemas. El proyecto también contempla una fase de evaluación continua, en la que se utilizarán instrumentos específicos para recoger retroalimentación sobre la cooperación y eficacia comunicativa de los estudiantes, así como el impacto de la experiencia en su aprendizaje y percepción de los estereotipos. Estos datos ayudarán a verificar la efectividad del escape room como herramienta educativa y su capacidad para modificar percepciones preexistentes. Este enfoque emerge como una metodología dinámica y efectiva para la enseñanza de problemáticas sociales complejas, como los estereotipos. Se espera que esta metodología no solo involucre a los estudiantes de manera activa, sino que también funcione como un entorno práctico para la reflexión y acción social, mejorando así su capacidad de análisis crítico y empoderamiento para la acción cívica

    This study explored the differences in personality and beliefs of individuals identified as entrepreneurs, focusing on motivation, personality factors, and general control expectations. It was conducted with the participation of 475 university students from the Amazon region of Brazil, using various evaluation tools to analyze the five major personality factors, control expectations, and motivation towards achievement or results. The findings revealed that students with a higher achievement motivation are more responsible and have a greater internal locus of control, meaning they believe they have control over their life. These students perceive themselves as less helpless, more self-efficacious, and with higher success expectations than those focused on results. On the other hand, students motivated by results tend to believe that the events of their life are due to luck or forces beyond their control. In conclusion, this study highlights a distinctive entrepreneurial pattern in students with high achievement motivation. This pattern may have significant implications for the education and development of future entrepreneurs. The findings suggest that fostering greater achievement motivation and an internal locus of control in students could be beneficial in cultivating entrepreneurial skills and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit. As for applications in society, these results may be useful for educators and policymakers seeking to foster entrepreneurship. By understanding the personality factors and beliefs that characterize successful entrepreneurs, they can design educational and training programs that foster these characteristics in students. In addition, entrepreneurs and companies can use these findings to identify and cultivate entrepreneurial talents. Finally, individuals can use these results to better understand their own entrepreneurial tendencies and how they can work to improve them.Este estudio exploró las diferencias en la personalidad y las creencias de los individuos identificados como emprendedores, centrándose en la motivación, los factores de personalidad y las expectativas generales de control. Se llevó a cabo con la participación de 475 estudiantes universitarios de la región amazónica de Brasil, utilizando varias herramientas de evaluación para analizar los cinco grandes factores de personalidad, las expectativas de control y la motivación hacia el logro o los resultados. Los hallazgos revelaron que los estudiantes con una mayor motivación de logro son más responsables y tienen un mayor locus de control interno, lo que significa que creen tener el control de su vida. Estos estudiantes se perciben a sí mismos como menos indefensos, más auto-eficaces y con mayores expectativas de éxito que aquellos enfocados en los resultados. Por otro lado, los estudiantes motivados por los resultados tienden a creer que los eventos de su vida se deben a la suerte o a fuerzas ajenas a su control. En conclusión, este estudio destaca un patrón emprendedor distintivo en estudiantes con alta motivación de logro. Este patrón puede tener implicaciones significativas para la educación y el desarrollo de futuros emprendedores. Los hallazgos sugieren que fomentar una mayor motivación de logro y un locus de control interno en los estudiantes podría ser beneficioso para cultivar habilidades emprendedoras y fomentar el espíritu empresarial. En cuanto a las aplicaciones en la sociedad, estos resultados pueden ser útiles para los educadores y los responsables de las políticas que buscan fomentar el espíritu empresarial. Al entender los factores de personalidad y las creencias que caracterizan a los emprendedores exitosos, pueden diseñar programas educativos y de formación que fomenten estas características en los estudiantes. Además, los empresarios y las empresas pueden utilizar estos hallazgos para identificar y cultivar talentos emprendedores. Finalmente, los individuos pueden utilizar estos resultados para entender mejor sus propias tendencias emprendedoras y cómo pueden trabajar para mejorarlas

    La orientación intra e interpersonal en la vocación docente: trayectorias de fortalezas de carácter en universitarios

    The vocation in the professions such as psychologist or teacher can be seen from the orientation to the other in the sense of competent self-management to accompany otherness. In itself, the relationship between the aspects of self-management (the intrapersonal) and orientation towards the other (the interpersonal) in care professions is complex, and its evolution in times of pandemic would merit additional reflection. Although we are now past the pandemic context, those circumstances still have many elements to analyze as they could be seen as a powerful personal and social variable. Thus, on one hand, in some way the forced isolation put us in greater contact with ourselves, providing more time and opportunities for reflection on what truly human nature is, allowing for the development of intrapersonal aspects in teachers and students. On the other hand, the reduced contact and the transition to distance education made us reappraise interpersonal aspects in the context of formal education. That is why in this analysis we recover personal trajectories of character strengths development of teachers and students of the Educational Sciences Department, organizing their analysis around the axes of intra- and interpersonal orientation, pointing out common trends in the academic context that contributed to shaping teacher profession and professional calling. A second comparative stage is pending to longitudinally assess those changes long due because of the complexity of the beginning of the century, and hopefully lasting for the sake of the strengthening of health care professions and the growth of human beings.La vocación en profesiones como psicología o docencia puede ser vista desde la orientación al otro, en el sentido de manejo propio competente para el acompañamiento de la otredad. En sí la relación entre los aspectos de manejo de sí (lo intrapersonal) y orientación al otro (lo interpersonal) en las profesiones que brindan atención al ser humano es compleja, y su evolución en tiempos de pandemia ameritaría una reflexión adicional. Aunque ya estemos fuera del contexto pandémico, aquellas circunstancias aún tienen muchos elementos por analizar, pues se podrían ver como una poderosa variable en lo personal y en lo social. Así, por un lado, de alguna manera el aislamiento obligado nos puso en mayor contacto con nosotros mismos, brindando más tiempo y oportunidades de reflexión sobre lo propiamente humano, permitiendo suponer el desarrollo de los aspectos intrapersonales en los docentes y estudiantes. Por el otro lado, el reducido contacto y el transitar a educación a distancia intervino en revalorar los aspectos interpersonales en el contexto de la educación formal. Es por lo que en este análisis recuperamos trayectorias de fortalezas de carácter de docentes y estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de Educación de la UATx, organizados en torno a los ejes de reflexión intra e interpersonales, señalando tendencias comunes en las dinámicas que se dieron en la academia, moldeando de nuevas maneras la profesión y la vocación docente. Una segunda etapa comparativa está pendiente para valorar de manera longitudinal estos cambios. Cambios que ya nos debíamos ante la complejidad del inicio del siglo y que debemos seguir encaminando al fortalecimiento de las profesiones de atención a la salud y al crecimiento del ser humano

    Programa piloto de estimulación de la memoria en adultos mayores

    Cognitive stimulation constitutes an effective form of intervention for the prevention and optimization of cognitive abilities in the elderly, as well as for the maintenance and arrest of the progression of cognitive deterioration. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of the application of a pilot program of memory stimulation in older adults with normal aging. The study had a pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach with the participation of 15 older adults attending a Gerontological Day Care Center, selected under a non-probabilistic purposive sampling. A memory stimulation program was designed based on playful stimulation activities and a task booklet, applied to the study population during 20 sessions, evaluating its effect through a pre- and post-test applying the memory subtest of the Neuropsychological Evaluation NEUROPSI. The results obtained showed an increase of 22 points in the post-test with respect to the level prior to the application of the program, showing an improvement in the performance of the memory function of the elderly participants.La estimulación cognitiva constituye una forma de intervención eficaz para la prevención y optimización de las capacidades cognitivas en el adulto mayor, así como para el mantenimiento y detención del avance del deterioro cognitivo. La presente investigación tuvo como propósito determinar el efecto de la aplicación de un programa piloto de estimulación de la memoria en adultos mayores con un envejecimiento normal. El estudio tuvo un diseño preexperimental con enfoque cuantitativo en el que participaron 15 adultos mayores que asisten a un Centro Gerontológico de atención diurna, seleccionados bajo un muestreo no probabilístico intencional. Se diseñó un programa de estimulación de la memoria basado en actividades lúdicas de estimulación y un cuadernillo de tareas, aplicado a la población de estudio durante 20 sesiones, evaluando su efecto a través de un pre y posttest aplicando la subprueba de memoria de la Evaluación Neuropsicológica NEUROPSI. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron un aumento de 22 puntos en el pos-test respecto al nivel previo de la aplicación del programa, observándose una mejora en el rendimiento de la función memoria de los adultos mayores participantes

    A literatura infantil para prevenção da violência sexual: análise de matériais

    Sexual violence against children is an alarming phenomenon, with serious implications for the development of the victimized people and which, therefore, must be the target of public prevention policies in the areas of health and education and a good pedagogical resource for this is the use of books. This qualitative, documentary-type study aimed to analyze children’s literature on preventing sexual violence against children. 12 books located on the commercial website amazon.com were analyzed, resulting in three thematic categories: (1) Content about sexual violence: the person whocommitted the violence is usually a man, is close to the child, asks for secrecy and the child must defend himself and report it; (2) Aspects of sexual education: Biological- naming intimate parts of the body and notion of privacy, Religious-protection of a body that is God’s creation, and Human Rights - protection os the child as a family and State function and (3) Representation of diversity: emphasis on white bodies, few images of blackand yellow people and no indigenous people, prevalence of a middle socioeconomic class and predominance of non-disabled, thin and tall bodies. Most of the books use human characters (few are animals or abstract figures); some use rhymes to facilitate language and almost all present recommendations for adults who should follow the reading. Some books are more complete in content, while others are more superficial; some are biased toward more conservative values or normative, heterosexual family patterns. However, the message of identifying violence and means of protection are explicit in all of them. Despite some reservations, it is concluded that there are good materials that can be used and adapted for sexuality education processes in childhood.A violência sexual contra crianças é um fenômeno alarmante, com graves implicações para o desenvolvimento das pessoas vitimizadas e que, por isso, deve ser alvo de políticas públicas de prevenção na área da saúde e da educação e um bom recurso pedagógico para isso é o uso de livros. Este estudo qualitativo, tipo documental, teve por objetivo analisar a literatura infantil sobre prevenção à violência sexual contra crianças. Foram analisados 12 livros localizados no site comercial amazon.com, resultando três categorias temáticas: (1) Conteúdo sobre violência sexual: a pessoa autora da violência geralmente é homem, está perto da criança, pede segredo e ela deve se defender e denuciar; (2) Vertentes de educação em sexualidade: Biológica - nomeação de partes íntimas do corpo e noção de privacidade, Religiosa - proteção de um corpo que é criação de Deus, e de Direitos Humanos - proteção da criança enquanto função da família e do Estado; e (3) Representação da diversidade: ênfase em corpos brancos, poucas imagens de pessoas negras e amarelas e nenhum indígena, prevalência de uma classe socioeconômica média e predomínio de corpos sem deficiência, magros e altos. A maior parte dos livros usa personagens humanos (poucos são animais ou figuras abstratas); alguns utilizam rimas para facilitar a linguagem e quase todos apresentam recomendações aos/às adultos/as que devem acompanhar a leitura. Alguns livros são mais completos em conteúdo, enquanto outros são mais superficiais; alguns são tendenciosos a valores mais conservadores ou a padrões familiares normativos e heterossexuais. Entretanto, a mensagem de identificação da violência e meios de proteção são explícitos em todos eles. Apesar de algumas ressalvas, conclui-se que há bons materiais que podem ser utilizados e adaptados para processos de educação em sexualidade na infância.

    Desafios da alimentação em fim de vida: uma revisão narrativa

    Introduction: Food is a basic human need throughout the course of a human being’s life, with a multifactorial character. It is associated with comfort, affection, compassion and, in its absence, with the progression of the disease and the proximity of death. Managing the loss of the ability to eat is a huge challenge for the patient, family, carers and care team. Aim: To identify the challenges, perceptions, strategies and nursing interventions in managing end-of-life feeding. Methodology: A qualitative study was carried out through a narrative review using the Scielo, Pubmed, Web of Science, Medline and B-on databases. The following inclusion criteria were defined: complete scientific journal articles published in Portuguese, English and Spanish between 2018 and 2024. Of the articles consulted, six were selected. Results and Discussion: Throughout human life, eating is associated with family experiences of sharing, celebration, comfort, affection, compassion and care. As the disease progresses, pathophysiological changes arise that affect the patient’s and family’s life activities, particularly eating. At this time, eating can be perceived by the family as anguish and as bringing death closer. The values and beliefs about feeding are not fully known and perceived by nurses, with difficulty in knowing the ideal time to stop, knowing the impact and meaning attributed by the patient and family, becoming an attitude of therapeutic obstinacy. Conclusion: Eating at the end of life is a challenge for nurses specializing in medical-surgical nursing for people in a palliative situation, from diagnosis to the implementation of nursing interventions, in order to promote comfort and dignity for the patient and family/caregiver.Introdução: A alimentação constitui umamnecessidade humana básica ao longo do percurso da vida do ser humano com carácter multifatorial. É associada ao conforto, carinho, compaixão e, na sua ausência, com a progressão da doença e proximidade da morte. Gerir a perda da capacidade de alimentação constitui um enorme desafio, para o doente, família, cuidadores e equipa assistencial. Objetivo: Identificar os desafios, perceções, estratégias e intervenções de enfermagem na gestão da Alimentação em fim de vida. Metodologia: Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo através de uma revisão narrativa nas bases de dado Scielo, Pubmed, Web of Science, Medline e B-on. Definiram-se os seguintes critérios de inclusão: artigos de revistas científicas completos, publicados em Português, Inglês e Espanhol entre 2018 e 2024. Dos artigos consultados foram selecionados 6 artigos. Resultados e Discussão: Ao longo da vida do ser humano a alimentação está associada a vivências em família, de partilha, de celebração, de conforto, carinho, compaixão e cuidado. Com a progressão da doença surgem alterações fisiopatológicas que afetam as atividades de vida do doente e família, nomeadamente na alimentação. Neste momento a alimentação pode ser percecionada pela família como angústia e aproximação da morte. Os valores e crenças sobre a alimentação não são totalmente conhecidos e percebidos pelos enfermeiros, com dificuldade em conhecer o momento ideal de parar, de conhecer o impacto e significado atribuído pelo doente e pela família tornando-se numa atitude de obstinação terapêutica. Conclusão: A alimentação em fim de vida constitui um desafio para o Enfermeiro Especialista em Médico cirúrgica na Área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Paliativa, desde o diagnóstico à implementação de intervenções de enfermagem, no sentido de promover o conforto e dignidade ao doente e família/cuidador.

    Sentido de vida, bem-estar psicológico e saúde mental em adultos brasileiros

    Currently, the meaning of life is considered as a driver of psychological well-being and significantly relevant to mental health. This positive psychological approach has increasingly made society and the academic community aware of the need to evaluate and investigate these concepts, in order to understand their implications. This study includes a sample of 431 subjects residing in the Federative Republic of Brazil, 100 male and 331 female. Using self report measures, through the application of questionnaires, our research correlated the concepts of meaning in life, psychological well being and mental health, also considering gender, age and personality characteristics. Through data analysis, we were able to understand that the search for meaning in life continues to be predominant in subjects, even though, in a significant sample, we found the statement that there already exists a clear purpose in life. As for psychological well-being, there are positive correlations between its factors and the presence of meaning in life, and it is negatively related to symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. Regarding the effects of meaning in life and personality on mental health symptoms and psychological well being, it was possible to identify interesting predictors. Another relevant fact is the statistically significant differences between emerging adults and middle-aged adults in terms of the variables analyzed, with no important gender effect being recorded. We conclude that there is evidence that there continues to be a search for the meaning in life and that well-being and mental health are affected by it, therefore, it is up to us to analyze the causes and how these have implications for everyday life of Brazilian citizens. This issue appears as a warning in such a controversial time, post-covid and with the current occurrence of international war conflicts.Atualmente, considera-se o sentido de vida como impulsionador do bem-estar psicológico e expressivamente relevante para a saúde mental. Esta abordagem psicológica positiva tem consciencializado cada vez mais a sociedade e a comunidade académica da necessidade de uma avaliação e investigação destes conceitos, de modo a entender as suas implicações. Este estudo contempla uma amostra de 431 sujeitos residentes na República Federativa do Brasil, 100 do sexo masculino e 331 do sexo feminino. Recorrendo a medidas de autorrelato, através da aplicação de questionários, a nossa pesquisa correlacionou os conceitos de sentido de vida, bem-estar psicológico e saúde mental, considerando ainda o género, idade e características de personalidade. Através da análise dos dados, conseguimos perceber que a procura do sentido de vida continua a ser predominante nos sujeitos, ainda que, numa amostra significativa, encontremos a afirmação de que já existe um propósito claro de vida. Quanto ao bem-estar psicológico, existem correlações positivas entre os seus fatores e a presença de sentido de vida, sendo que se relaciona negativamente com os sintomas de depressão, ansiedade e stresse. Quanto aos efeitos do sentido de vida e da personalidade na sintomatologia da saúde mental e no bem-estar psicológico, foi possível identificar interessantes preditores. Um outro dado relevante são as diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre adultos emergentes e adultos de meia-idade a nível das variáveis analisadas, não se registando um importante efeito do género. Concluímos que existem evidências de que continua a existir uma busca pelo sentido de vida e de que o bem-estar e a saúde mental são por ele afetados, deste modo, cabendo-nos uma análise das causas e de como estas têm implicações no dia-a-dia dos cidadãos brasileiros. Esta problemática surge como um alerta num tempo tão controverso, o pós-covid e com a atual ocorrência de conflitos bélicos internacionais.

    Estilos de apego y ansiedad en universitarios de Lima

    The research aimed to examine the relationship between attachment styles and state-trait anxiety in 97 university students from a private institution in Lima. The study was descriptive and correlational in nature, using a probabilistic sample of simple random type. The Adult Attachment Internal Models Questionnaire - Short Version (CAMIR-R) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (IDARE) were employed. The data analysis methods used included Spearman’s correlation. The results revealed significant correlations: trait anxiety showed a moderate positive correlation with the family worry dimension (r =.227, p < .05), a high positive correlation with the parental interference dimension (r =.316, p < .01), a moderate positive correlation with the self sufficiency and resentment towards parents dimension (r =.234, p < .05), and a moderate positive correlation with the childhood trauma dimension (r =.207, p < .05). No significant correlations were found with the security dimension. Additionally, state anxiety did not show significant correlations with any of the dimensions. La investigación propuso conocer la relación entre los estilos de apego y la ansiedad estado rasgo en 97 universitarios de una institución privada de Lima. La naturaleza del estudio fue descriptivo y correlacional, utilizando una muestra probabilística, de tipo aleatoria simple. Se emplearon el Cuestionario de Modelos Internos de Relaciones de Apego Adulto - versión reducida (CAMIR-R) y el Inventario de Ansiedad Rasgo-Estado (IDARE). Las metodologías de análisis de datos empleadas comprendieron la correlación de Spearman.     Efectos del confinamiento por la covid-19 sobre prácticas de sexting en jóvenes mexicanos

    Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing measures significantly impacted interpersonal dynamics, fostering the consolidation of digital platforms and potentially influencing sexting behaviors within specific demographic cohorts. This study aimed to scrutinize variations in sexting prevalence during the COVID-19 lockdown period among Mexican adolescents, delineating distinctions by gender, age, and sexual experience. A cohort of 1423 participants hailing from ten Mexican states partookin thestudy, with 1142 individuals reporting priorengagement in sexting activities. The mean age of the cohort was 20.49 years, with near half being female. In adherence to public health protocols, data collection occurred via online questionnaires, facilitated through a survey panel platform. Analysis revealed a discernible escalation in sexting prevalence, particularly among younger cohorts, sexually inexperienced individuals, and males, albeit with moderate effects. The implications of these findings are examined within the context of sexting assessment methodologies and the regulatory measures enforced in Mexico during the pandemic.Durante la pandemia, las medidas de distanciamiento social afectaron las relaciones personales y las plataformas digitales se consolidaron, lo que podría haber generado un posible aumento en las experiencias de sexting en ciertos sectores. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los cambios en la frecuencia del sexting durante el confinamiento por COVID-19 en jóvenes mexicanos, así como identificar diferencias según sexo, edad y experiencia sexual. Se contó con la participación de 1423 jóvenes de diez estados de la República Mexicana, de los cuales 1142 habían tenido experiencias de sexting. La edad promedio de estos jóvenes fue de 20.49 años, y cerca de la mitad de ellos fueron mujeres. Dadas las medidas sanitarias, la aplicación de los cuestionarios se llevó a cabo mediante una plataforma en línea y se diseminó con el apoyo de un panel de encuestas. Los resultados mostraron un incremento en las prácticas de sexting, principalmente entre la población más joven, sin experiencia sexual y en los hombres, aunque los efectos fueron moderados. Los hallazgos se discuten en virtud de las formas en que se ha evaluado el comportamiento de sexting, así como las medidas adoptadas en México durante la pandemia
