PT XYZ was establised in October 1999 as the courier and logistics or express delivery company that deals with documents and packages. It is also part of the distribution chain for spare parts, consumables, pharmaceutical products, telecommunications, promotional materials and items that will be marketed to outlets across Indonesia. Nonetheless, the performance of PT XYZ in terms annual sales revenue and operating income is not significantly improved. The increasingly tight business competition is triggered by diverse factors, especially the entry of new competitors, the increasing demands of customers for a satisfactory service, as well as the more critical corporate customers which demand efficiency and reduction of the cost of shipping. These factors force PT XYZ to reconstruct future business strategy to be able to win business competition and improve the performance of its business. At the same time, the growth of e-commerce business in the form of delivery of retailed products from customer to customer and company to customer that reach out many of the most significant destinations in Indonesia become the potential market for PT XYZ. The purposes of this research are (1) to analyse the conditions and the business capability of PT XYZ, (2)to make industry foresight of PT XYZ, (3) to study the gaps between industry foresight and PT XYZ future policy directions, and (4) to create a strategic action plan and estimated time implementation to minimize the gaps to occur. This research was conducted at the headquarter of PT XYZ in Jakarta from February 2016 to April 2016. The research method used was descriptive method with strategic planning using case study of PT XYZ. The research was divided into four stages, namely (1) environmental scanning stage that aims to collect information about the internal and external environments of PT XYZ by employing VRIO analysis methods and business trend analysis, (2) strategic foresight stage, consisting of foresight analysis to get an overview of the future by utilizing future wheels method, followed with creating future scenarios using scenario planning metho to depict future conditions which are most likely to happen; (3) gaps analysis stage, and (4) preparation of the action plan stage. VRIO analysis conducted on PT XYZ shows that most resources have a competitive advantage parity or considered having no more advantages in comparison with other similar companies. However, there are resources that have a temporary competitive advantage, namely information and communication (ICT) system in use today. Furthermore, the company has its own branches in 34 major cities that reach more than 3000 townships. Those two factors are considered to have a sustainable competitive advantage for PT XYZ because they are rarely owned by companies of its kind and too costly to emulate. The company could manage these resources to generate greater benefits to the company. Business trends analysis used as an external factor also shows that the company's future business developments are primarily driven by the development of ICT system that makes derivative changes in many business processes. Crowdsource model and the development of retail business through e-commerce become two additional elements which greatly affect PT XYZ in drawing up future business strategies in order to survive and win the competition. The strategic foresight done on PT XYZ focuses on three main issues, namely the development of ICT system, shifting in market customers because of e-commerce development, and changes in the operating system are associated with the quality of human resources and the availability of service networks. The alternative sharing economy or crowdsourcing is becoming one of the best alternatives to meet the entire customers’ requirement for efficient and effective delivery although the implementation requires mature preparation, especially in terms of the readiness of ICT system. The action plan of PT XYZ is arranged for a period of 5 years and focuses on issues which force the company to eliminate gaps between existing condition and future predicted situation as the output of strategic foresight analysis. Development and strengthening of human resources, strengthening of the ICT system, as well as development of the city's new service which is integrated with track & trace web-based system and real time online, become the main pillars of the action plan to be carried out by PT XYZ within a five year period

Distribution channels have a very important meaning in achieving the success of the company, because the goods or services will reach the hands of consumers through direct distribution channels and channels indirectly. Distribution is an integral part of the supply chain of a product, therefore an efficient process is required, which ensures the product to the hands of the consumer at minimal cost, including the distribution of lubricant products for motor vehicles. After DKI Jakarta, West Java is an area that has the largest lubricant market potential in Indonesia which is more than 10% national lubricant market share is contributed from West Java. PTA is one of the lubricant distributors who do the distribution in the area of West Java and has a depot in Bandung. Depo Bandung has a lubricant potential of 35% of the total of West Java or four million two hundred thousand liter. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of PTA distribution in Bandung depot. Research conducted at PTA Bandung is to analyze the level of effectiveness of salespeople, area mapping, distribution of competitors and the level of efficiency of each salesperson to the achievement of sales in 2016. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis using primary and secondary data and data processing using Sadix system and DPMS with the tools Microsoft Excel 2010. Analysis conducted is to compare the effectiveness of visits to the sales performance of salespeople, in view of the distribution area, work experience and competitors in each distribution area. The results of the effectiveness analysis will be compared with the efficiency of each salesperson to see the level of efficiency. The results show the effectiveness of sales force in 2016 has been effective. This is evidenced from the results of data analysis and achievement of sales targets of each salesperson in 2016. Each salesperson already has a minimum of thirteen (13) visitation workshop per day and supervision has done the mapping area based on distribution channels of goods delivery. But from the analysis of the efficiency of salespeople, the achievement of sales targets does not always have a positive impact on the targeted returns in the company. The error factor in setting sales targets and the composition of the products to be sold affects the targeted returns for each salesperson. It is advisable that the company has an incentive-adding mechanism so that every salesperson can visit regularly

Workload becomes important to note because the institution is fundamental to the identification of how well an employee doing the job. The exact numbers of employees who will assist institutions to further improve its effectiveness. Through systematic HR planning program can be estimated that the number and type of labor required. One method to measure the employee needs to see the work load is a Work Indicator of Staffing Need (WISN) method, even this method has been standardized by the United Nations (UN) through the World Health Organization (WHO). By observing the activity of labor in a particular period based on his ability to complete basic tasks can be seen the workload of each of the main tasks. The magnitude of the frequency of activity in units of time shows the amount of work load. Based on the workload can be determined how much labor needs required in a work area. For the research aimed to analyze the availability of manpower, labor requirements and formulate implementation of managerial PT Best Logistic Service Indonesia (PT BLSI). The object of this research is a labor of PT BLSI in the area Admin and Material Control, QC Safety and Development area, area Shipping, Staging area, the area of Supply and Packing area. Sampling done in probability sampling, and each area of labor as only one sample. Through the calculation method Workload Indicator of Staffing Needs to work sampling techniques showed workload analysis and calculation of required manpower. The use of productive working time for labor and Material Control Admin is 71.94%, to labor QC Safety and Development 76.63%, for the labor area Shipping 106.23%, 109.98% for the staging area, for the area of Supply 101.65% and 78.91% Packing area. Based on these results it can be said that the use of working time for the whole area has not been fully productive and workload owned unevenly distributed between one area to another area. For Admin area and Material Control, Safety QC and Development, and the area Packing has a productive use of time below 80%, which means the workload for these areas is low and the need for a change in formation or repositioning for labor in the area. As for the labor force in the area Shipping, Staging, and Supply had a productive time usage above 80%, which means the workload in those areas quite high and indicates the use of working time exceeds the optimum standard that identifies the fatigue level is high enough. Research conducted on five areas in PT. BLSI get results that show the average of the excess labor in a number of seven people and Material Control Admin area, five people in the QC area of Safety and Development, and fourteen in the staging area. As for the area shipping shortage of seven people, an area of nineteen people Supply shortages and shortages of fifteen people in the area packing. Managerial implications that can be given as input is a company needs to re-evaluates the planning of the whole area both in recruitment, competence, and development being done
