Introduction: With the ever-increasing competition in the changing business environment, it becomes imperative for the organizations to focus on improving job performance of the employees. It is critical for organizations to understand the key relevance of positive employee interactions. It is vital for organizations to recognise people as valued sources of human capital as it improves focus on organizational objectives and performance while reducing absenteeism and attrition. Objectives: The present study explores the Organization Support theory (OST) which analyses how Perceived Organizational Support (POS) influences job performance while considering the role of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in IT industry. As now-a-days IT industry faces a dual challenge: limited resources on the one hand, and a need for highly skilled people on the other along with external ambiguity exacerbating the problems. This cumulates the need for effective HR practices to become a competitive force in the IT industry. Methods: A descriptive research study is conducted to apply univariate and bivariate statistical analysis techniques to validate research objectives. A modified version of the standardised scales for POS, OCB and job performance was adopted for data collection of 380 IT employees. Responses were collected on 5-point Likert scale. The analysis was done using SPSS and AMOS 23. Results: A significant correlation exists between POS and job performance. The results reveal that OCB partially mediates between POS and job performance. It was observed that POS is associated with job performance, but it is significantly diminished in the presence of OCB. The findings provide evidence that job performance can be improved by optimising POS which develops the organizational citizenship behavior among employees. Conclusions: The current research validates that job performance of the employees reinforced through perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behavior has mediating impact on this relationship. It is found that employee friendly organizational strategies necessitate a paradigm shift by transforming the organizational environment which encourages employees to display optimistic and assertive behavior towards their workmates and management beyond their current employment responsibilities. HR professionals, supervisors and managers are required to follow employee friendly organizational strategies to optimise perceived organizational support to upsurge citizenship behavior, consequently enhancing employee performance

Media technologies have had far-reaching effects on human conduct and helped bridge the gap between the online and offline worlds in the modern information age. People\u27s lives have grown more dependent on digital technology, which are not just used on a daily basis for communication, information, and enjoyment. The media in today\u27s digital age may serve as a source of information, motivation, and inspiration. The media is in charge of society and has the power to influence people\u27s actions, values, and daily routines. The media\u27s influence may be seen in two ways: both positively and negatively. This is because the media does not report the actual events of the world but rather imagines them. The focus of this article is on how the media influences people\u27s actions. It also seeks to differentiate the digital and physical worlds. This might shed light on whether or not popular media trends really influence young people\u27s choices on whether to mimic the online world or focus on the real world. We are all too aware of how commonplace it is for children to be neglected or abused nowadays. Similarly, most of us aren\u27t shocked to learn that studies have shown a correlation between child abuse (whether physical, sexual, or psychological) and the emergence of mental health issues later in life. Many psychologists and psychiatrists use metaphors and theories of personality to describe these types of cases. It\u27s possible that the systems that helped or protected the youngster are now working against them. Perhaps a "wounded kid" inside the adult was the result of stunted psychological development caused by maltreatment in childhood. Too frequently, such explanations minimise the effect of early abuse when they may give meaningful understanding and help patients in treatment. They make it simple to tell those who have been wronged, "Get over it," in effect. Children with traumatic stress in children are individuals who, after experiencing one or more traumatic incidents, have long-lasting emotional and behavioural responses that continue to interfere with their everyday life

The Vedas recommend a sattvic diet for people because it promotes mental and physical well-being. Despite the common perception, not all Hindus adhere to a vegetarian diet. Some people\u27s families are vegetarian by choice, while others aren\u27t. Those who believe in the principle of Karma and who are thus making spiritual development are those who, in thought, word, and deed, refrain from violence. Direct or indirect injury to a person, animal, or other living thing is punished in our scriptures. So, eating meat, fish, or other animals is a terrible choice that will have consequences for us here or in the hereafter

Reaffirming the Self Image through Self Reflection, Self-Criticism and Imposing Restrictions upon Self – The Psychological Realm

    Get PDF
Several studies have shown that self-criticism and self-assurance may work in parallel and even cooperate. The purpose of this research was to test the hypothesis that, in contrast to self-esteem, which is based on a separate motivational mechanism, self-reassurance acts as a buffer between criticism of oneself and depressed symptoms. The buffering theory of self-reassurance is supported by the finding that, at high levels of self-reassurance, the correlation between self-criticism and depression symptoms disappears. Self-esteem was not a moderator of the connection between self-criticism and depressed symptoms, despite the strong association between the two concepts. The negative effects of self-criticism and depression may be mitigated by practising self-reassurance rather than self-esteem
