To evaluate the antibacterial activity and chemical constituents of the essential oil from the Artemisia argyi grown in Qichun (China). Alpinia calcarata rhizome ethanolic extract was tested for anti-asthmatic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. Adaptogens normalize leukocytosis after milk consumption. Eosinophils are necessary for allergic illness development. The plant extract significantly reduced allergic asthmarelated eosinophil cell count compared to the control group. Eosinophil count decreases cell recruitment and IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13, which affect cell count. Studies on milk-induced leukocytosis and eosinophils verified the plant extract\u27s anti-asthmatic capabilities. In guinea pigs, goats, horses, dogs, and humans, histamine contracts trachea and bronchial muscles. Tracheas in guinea pigs test asthma drugs.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),DPPH,ABTS was applied for the identification of chemical constituents in volatile oil from Artemisia argyi and the relative percentage of each component was calculated by area normalization. The study of investigation showed that the ethanolic extract of Alpinia Calcarata rhizomes possess The antioxidant and anti- inflammatory property of the plant also supports its anti-asthmatic property. Drugs effective in asthma are mostly steroidal in nature. Phytochemical analysis showed presence of flavonoid and steroids. The anti-asthmatic property showed by the plant may be because of these chemical moieties. The results obtained in the study supports the traditional and also demands further research and to isolate and characterize active principles responsible for The antioxidant and anti- inflam &nbsp

AI-Driven Innovations in Banking: Enhancing Risk Compliance through Advanced Data Engineering

    Get PDF
As more and more financial services make use of artificial intelligence (AI), AI decisions are starting to impact matters that people care about—money. Across many areas, AI is now being trusted to meet regulatory compliance for high-quality training data, create user-friendly transparent requirements, and manage risk. As regulators take the time to better understand how to regulate AI technologies in tandem with engaging with AI innovators from the financial sector, new risks must be considered that AI technologies could bring to the financial services and what actions could be taken to mitigate them. AI systems have found a wide range of application areas in financial services but their involvement in high-stakes decisions has escalated the need for compliance and effective model governance. The unique characteristics of AI, along with the governance practices that followed, have led to fundamental tensions that lie at the heart of challenges in AI model governance. Furthermore, the growth in model complexity raises questions on the sustainability of practices that are already under strain. Governance with regard to AI is still very much in its infancy, with regulators gradually catching up to the innovative development in AI. Banking sector struggles with issues such as deciding if tailor-made models to customer needs and newly created products are fundamentally sound and have submitted prevention measures to control their risks and the maintenance of model-derived decisions after deployment. The governance of complex AI systems lends itself to a systemic view that considers the multiplication of models, sources, systems, teams across locations and regulators. It is key to also embed tackling mixed-nationality jurisdiction challenges into future regulations of algorithms in the banking sector as it is one of the key current matters discussed by authorities [2]. It would be best to take all socio-political pressures immediately into account to develop a comprehensive AI regulation framework for the deployment stage that takes into consideration and finds a balance across its risks while encouraging its deployment to spur the efficiency, cost and quality of products and services, risk-averse behaviours of customers and therefore the stability of the banking sector as a whole

Background: The placenta is crucial for pregnancy. As the largest fetal organ, it has indispensable functions in the development and protection of the fetus. The role of ultrasonography in obstetric practice is immense. Placental calcification is a physiologic phenomenon associated with increasing gestational age. Objective: The comparison of placental grading by ultrasonography in normal and hypertensive pregnant female in Central India. Methods: The present prospective case-control study involving 200 pregnant women (100 normotensive, 100 hypertensive) of third trimester gestation. Placental grading was assessed using ultrasonography. Results: Overall, the majority of patients in both groups had a placental grading of II. There was non-significant difference in placental grading between the two groups (p-value = 0.207). A significant association was observed between placental grading and gestational age (p<0.001), with all patients with grade I placental maturity having a gestational age of ≤35 weeks, while the majority of patients with grade II and III placental maturity had a gestational age of >35 weeks. A significant association between placental grading and perinatal mortality (p=0.026), with higher mortality rates observed in cases with grade III placental maturity (44.2%) compared to grade I (0%) and grade II (23.1%). There was a trend towards a higher proportion of positive results in cases with grade III placental maturity (39.5%) compared to grade I (20.0%) and grade II (23.1%). Conclusion: The study concluded that a significant association was observed between placental grading and gestational age, as well as perinatal mortality, with higher mortality rates in cases with grade III placental maturity. The study suggests that placental grading may be useful in predicting fetal outcomes, particularly in hypertensive pregnancies, and highlights the importance of monitoring placental maturity in high-risk pregnancies

AI and ML Applications in Dynamic Pricing for Auto and Property Insurance Markets

    Get PDF
Abstract Dynamic pricing is one of the most disruptive trends in today\u27s insurance market, causing great impacts on microeconomics and macroeconomics factors for multiple parties on both the supply side and demand side. In this research, we identify the existing gaps in the research and then provide a comprehensive literature review of the applications of AI and ML in dynamic pricing in both auto and property insurance markets, addressing the gaps and exploring the potential future research directions. We also analyze opened research problems related to ML-driven dynamic pricing, providing critical insights for both researchers and practitioners in this area. The rapid advance of AI and ML technology provides great opportunities and threatens traditional insurance pricing methods. We believe that the connection between ML and traditional pricing disciplines can shape the future pricing studies by deciding the pricing techniques used by the industry. Dynamic pricing dynamically adjusts the price according to its customers\u27 willingness to pay and reduces the demand excess. In auto insurance, the demand excess means a higher loss ratio, which disturbs the equilibrium of the company and affects its inherent value. In property insurance, the demand excess means that firms are highly exposed to more catastrophic losses. Reducing the demand excess can bring a win-win influence to both the insurance industry and buyers of insurance as AI and ML can scale the traditional pricing theory models by reducing the modeling cost and improving the modeling efficiency and accuracy. Advanced modeling can unfold inter-insurance correlations and reduce the aggressive pricing hazards and risk mispricing for the supply side. With more sensitive and targeted pricing schemes through ML, the demand side can obtain more reasonable pricing. Moreover, due to the outstanding data technique of ML, ML can also reveal the real-time pricing signal embedded in online offerings for complex products
