Effectiveness Of Structred Teaching Program On The Knowledge And Practice Regarding Hand Hygiene Among Student Nurses

    No full text
Hand Hygiene is cost-effective method in preventing infection transmission. Hand hygiene practices have been found to be faulty in most health care settings. An experimental study with one group pretest posttest design was undertaken at a tertiary care hospital in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Consecutive sampling technique was used to select the study subjects. Data was collected from 88 student’s nurses by using structured knowledge questionnaires and practice checklist. A knowledge questionnaire based on hand hygiene practices and also based on World health Organization’s concept of “Five Moments for Hand Hygiene” was used to evaluate the practices regarding hand hygiene. Result: The overall posttest mean knowledge score was 13.05 ± 2.82 which was higher than the pretest mean knowledge score 9.94±2.38 and the post mean score of practice regarding hand hygiene with soap and water was 17.11 ± 2.87, with hand rub or sanitizer was 9.57 ± 3.46 and practice with the steps of five moments of hand hygiene 3.52 ± 0.57 was higher than the pretest mean score of practice regarding hand hygiene with soap and water was 13.57 ± 3.3 & with hand rub or sanitizer was 2.24 ± 3.98 and practice with the steps of five moments of hand hygiene was 2.06  ± 1. Conclusion: the study concluded that the post-test level of knowledge and practice was increased after the structured teaching program, hence it can be inferred that a structured teaching program was an effective method to enhance the knowledge and practice of hand hygiene

Knowledge Sharing In The Era Of Artificial Intelligence: A Field Study On Students At The University Of Continuous Education

    No full text
Many educational systems emphasize the importance of knowledge-sharing behavior among students within the educational environment. However, hesitation to engage in this behavior persists due to a lack of understanding of the determinants of knowledge sharing. This study aimed to investigate the extent of knowledge-sharing practices among students of the Continuous Education University across Algeria. The study sample consisted of 479 male and female students from 24 centers. A knowledge-sharing scale was developed, and its validity was confirmed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and convergent validity measures. Reliability was established through test-retest methods and McDonald’s Omega coefficient. The study\u27s findings revealed a high degree of knowledge-sharing practices among students. Additionally, the results indicated statistically significant differences in knowledge-sharing levels based on gender, favoring male students. However, no statistically significant differences were observed based on the academic level

Effectiveness Of Marungko Approach In Teaching Mother-Tongue-Based Language For Kindergarten Learners Using Online Classes

    No full text
This study determined the effectiveness of the Marungko approach in teaching mother tongue–based language to Kindergarten learners in two identified public elementary schools using online classes. It utilized the quantitative-qualitative research method following the quasi-experimental design. The study used the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) in testing the significant differences between the pre-test and post-test performances of the kindergarten learners in the mother tongue–based language in terms of reading, writing, and numeracy for the control and experimental groups. A phenomenological design was utilized for the qualitative research in which the lived experiences of the parents were identified. Results showed a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in Cebu City Division for reading but not in writing and numeracy. However, in Lapu-Lapu City Division, there was a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in reading, writing, and numeracy. Therefore, the integration of the Marungko approach in online classes for mother tongue – based language for kindergarten was effective. Challenges parents encountered in the online class include the limited time to assist the child\u27s learning needs, internet connectivity at home, and limited knowledge of techniques in teaching kindergarten. The study further recommended that its output be adopted

This study aimed at investigating the factors behind the weaknesses in speaking skill among fourth level students in the academic year 2021/2022, English Department, Faculty of Education, Sana\u27a University and finding out proper solutions to overcome such problem. This study was an analytical study. The study sample consisted of 30 students from level four out of 120. For collecting data, two data collection tools were used (a closed-ended questionnaire, and an interview). The obtained data was analyzed descriptively using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) and analytically by wording. Frequencies and percentages were analysed, and the results revealed that there were many factors behind this problem, such factors were as: a lack of practice during their secondary study, low background in English before the university, high fear to speak, and low motivation of students to speak Infront of audience. Additionally, the lack of enough speaking exercises to practice English speaking. Moreover, the study revealed that although teachers encourage students to speak and communicate in English, they do not provide enough opportunities for oral practice, such as oral quizzes, role-play, and debates. The time dedicated to practice these skills is also inadequate. Finally, the results revealed that there was no English language lab available for students to practice, and the huge number of students when practicing this skill was another reason. The study recommendation for solving this problem  was to make EFL students exposed to more and more practice of listening and speaking. Besides, spoken course should focus more on speaking, and students should be given much time to practice that

Investigation Of The Frequency Of Side Effects Of Inhaled Glucocorticosteroids From The Respiratory System In Children With Bronchial Asthma

    No full text
Inhaled glucocorticosteroids, like other medications, have a number of side effects, one of which is candidiasis of the oropharynx. Objective: to study the frequency of infection of the pharynx with Candida fungi and to determine their sensitivity to antifungal drugs in children who have been using inhaled glucocorticosteroids for a long time. The main group included 65 patients. From the main group of the study, Candida fungi were found in 25 patients 38.5%± 6.78%. The sensitivity of Candida fungi to antifungal drugs was 100% to nystatin and clotrimazole, 96% to fluconazole

INVESTIGATION OF THE FREQUENCY OF CONTAMINATION OF THE ORAL CAVITY WITH CANDIDA FUNGI AND THEIR SENSITIVITY TO ANTIFUNGAL DRUGS IN CHILDREN WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA WHO USE INHALED GLUCOCORTICOSTEROIDS FOR A LONG TIME

Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract that causes the development of bronchial hyperreactivity, which leads to repeated episodes of wheezing, expiratory shortness of breath, chest congestion and coughing, increasing at night or early in the morning. The main groups of drugs for the basic therapy of bronchial asthma are inhaled glucocorticosteroids in the form of individual drugs or in combination with anticholinergic or B-2 agonists. Preparations of inhaled glucocorticosteroids have a number of side effects, one of which is oropharyngeal candidiasis, which often occurs according to a number of instructions (>1/100,<1/10). This is due to the fact that inhaled glucocorticosteroids create favorable conditions for the growth of yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida in the oral cavity and pharynx, due to the suppression of the protective functions of macrophages, neutrophils and T-lymphocytes on the surface of the oral mucosa, as well as due to the appearance of dryness of the oral cavity. In this connection, IGCS preparations have instructions for use. Namely, taking into account the risk of oropharyngeal candidiasis, the patient should thoroughly rinse his mouth with water after each inhalation of the drug. The purpose of the study is to study the awareness of patients about the prevention and risks of fungal infections of the oral cavity arising from the use of inhaled glucocorticosteroids
