    Get PDF
The objective of this investigation was to create PBL-based ethnoscience-based e-modules for science instruction at Kota Padang\u27s medium level school (SMP). For research and development (R&D), this study employs the ADDIE development paradigm, which involves five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Students at Padang\u27s junior high schools\u27 seventh grade served as the study\u27s subjects. The study was conducted at Padang City Middle School. Interviews, questionnaires to assess the suitability of the media, tests to assess the efficacy of the media, and documentation were used as data collection techniques in this study.  The test was carried out in phases, with individual trials, small group trials, and field trials with large groups all taking place after a review with media and material professionals. An extremely valid category with an average of 94% was revealed by expert validation. The students at the three universities rank the practicality test in the very practical area on average, while the teacher gives it an extremely practical rating of 90%. The results showed that PBL-based science instruction using E-Modules in the three schools was beneficial, with significant differences between the experimental group and the control group (p=0.001). As a result, the ethnoscientific perspective-based PBL model-based E-Module for science education qualifies as valid, helpful, and effective. Keyword: E-Modul, PBL, Etnosains, Model ADDI

    Get PDF
Introduction: Intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is a significant contributor to persistent back pain, with the IVD serving a vital mechanical role in weight transfer, energy dissipation, and joint mobility. The nucleus pulposus and annulus fibrosus work together to distribute and transmit loads between vertebral bones. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), containing various growth factors, has gained attention due to its potential in clinical settings for stimulating cell growth and proliferation. This study explores the potential of autologous PRP therapy for improving degenerating IVD. Objectives: The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of autologous PRP therapy in improving degenerating IVD based on clinical and histological features. Methods: The author conducted an evidence acquisition process by analyzing and synthesizing information from various references. We used "intervertebral disc degeneration" and "platelet-rich plasma" as keywords to search for relevant literature on PubMed, Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Clinical Key. The data for this study were extracted from a total of 10 articles, comprising 6 experimental studies and 4 clinical trial studies. Results: The study findings reveal that autologous PRP therapy induces significant improvements in degenerating IVD based on both clinical and histological features. Conclusions: This study suggests that autologous PRP therapy is an effective approach for enhancing degenerating IVD, as evidenced by improvements in clinical and histological features. This research underscores the potential of PRP as a valuable technique in the clinical setting for addressing IVD degeneration and its associated back pain

The study aimed to identify the level of emotional regulation and the quality of family life for married people with physical disabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to indicate the nature of the correlation between them. The descriptive survey method was used to achieve the objectives of the study. The study sample consisted of (149) married males with physical disabilities, aged between (25-50) years. They were selected from Najran region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023. Two tools were used to collect data: the emotional regulation questionnaire, consisting of (10) items, and the family life quality questionnaire, consisting of (7) items, after verifying their validity and reliability. The results showed a low level in the answers of the study sample about the level of emotional regulation among married people with physical disabilities. Also, there is an average level in the study sample\u27s answers of the quality of family life for married people with physical disabilities. In addition, there is a positive (directive) and statistically significant correlation between the level of emotional regulation as a whole and its domains "positive re-evaluation, re-planning and positive focus", and the level of quality of family life for married people with physical disabilities. The study recommended the preparation of psychological and social programs that deal with married people with physical disabilities to ensure raising their level of emotional regulation, improving the quality of their family life, and removing obstacles to prevent their integration into all forms of family and social life

The research sought to find information that provides solutions for teaching reading fluency among grade one learners in distance education to identify the underlying factors that affect the teaching and learning process in Pulangbato Elementary School, Quiot Elementary School, and Maria Montessori International School, Cebu, Philippines. This research delved into the experiences of the parents\u27 personal opinions concerning learners\u27 reading habits and fluency at home, teachers’ opinion survey on reading, how parents\u27 involvement affects learners\u27 reading fluency, and parents\u27 and teachers\u27 challenges in teaching reading to learners on distance learning. It employed a Qualitative-Phenomenological method with 18 teachers and 18 parents from 3 different schools as participants. The researchers utilized an interpretative phenomenological analysis with the help of a survey questionnaire to determine the experiences of both participants, the parents, and teachers. The results of the study revealed that both participants, the parents, and the teachers, are still trying their best to adapt to the new normal set-up of learning, distance education. The parents favor having face-to-face classes for they are not confident with their ways of teaching, especially in teaching reading fluency among their learners. In addition, they are having difficulty balancing their work and, at the same time, teaching their learners. No full text
Stroke survivors are often subjected to anxiety and depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. However, little is known about this spectrum of disorders post-stroke. Non-pharmacological interventions can be effective in managing the patients, with only handful of studies in Indian context the problem was addressed to be explored in detail. The study was intended to establish the efficacy of psychotherapeutic nursing intervention package on poststroke depression, anxiety and emotional resilience among stroke survivors.144 patients with post Stroke depression, anxiety and resilience as assessed by HDRS, HARS and CDRS were non-randomly assigned to experimental and control group. 72 study participants were assigned to experimental and control group. Experimental group received planned interventional package twice a week for 4 weeks. The participants were assessed at 3 different observation points during the course of study. Clinical Interview for Screening (A1), Pre-Test (A2) , Post-Test(A3). The study results with PSD, PSA and Emotional Resilience with mean difference of 3.73, 5.38 and 26.83 respectively was found to be statistically significant at p<0.05 level. The relationship of depression with resilience and anxiety with resilience was found to be weak positive. Conclusion: Psychotherapeutic nursing intervention package is effective modality for stroke patients experiencing depression and anxiety scores. With study results the package appears to benefit stroke survivors with depression and anxiety of experimental group beyond what patients of control group experience with standard or usual treatment. However, in patients with severe depression and anxiety the treatment can be used as an adjuvant with psychopharmacological interventions
