This learning modality has been common with the unvaccinated students belonging to classes in the different levels; however, there are insufficient published studies about this modality in the context of this pandemic, specifically on simultaneous onsite-online teaching-learning process. Anchored on empowerment theory, and adaptation theory, specifically on behavioral adaptation, this research aimed to find out the realities of teachers conducting simultaneous onsite-online teaching to junior high school students at a laboratory high school of a University, school year 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Specifically, this study looked into the teachers’ challenges, opportunities, coping strategies, and best practices. This endeavor is deemed significant for strengthening the teaching-learning process, designing the learning continuity plan, and policy making at this time of pandemic. This study which made use of a qualitative research design, specifically photovoice, were participated by eight purposely selected permanent or temporary teachers in the junior high school level, who were conducting a simultaneous onsite-online teaching. Data were gathered using photographs, narratives, and in-depth interview; and said data were analyzed using the SHOWED Framework (Wallerstein and Bernstein, 1998). The result of this study included the following: (1) Challenges of the teachers in the simultaneous onsite-online teaching-learning modality dwell mainly on keeping up with the protocols, on the internet connectivity issues, the heavy workload, and the lack of sleep; (2) The modality itself offers teachers the opportunities because this paves way for more possibilities for class interaction, competency development, and strengthening positive relationship; (3) The teachers’ coping strategies include maintaining an emotionally supportive relationships with family and colleagues, appreciating the support of the administrators, maximizing technology utilization, keeping a high sense of motivation, and satisfying one’s physiological needs; and (4) Some of the teachers’ best practices include saving teachers’ time and effort, promoting access to education, and narrowing the digital divide

Developing Comprehensive Model of New Venture Creation for Women Entrepreneurs and Psychology in Malaysia

    Get PDF
New venture creation by women entrepreneurs has impact on a country’s economic development in terms of increased job supply or enhanced product innovation. Despite the contributions and benefits of women entrepreneurship to the national economy, their participation in entrepreneurship has received less attention from the society. Their accomplishments are comparable to those of other entrepreneurs, but women entrepreneurs are not considered as successful entrepreneurs in the Forbes 2021 list. Many women entrepreneurs encounter challenges linked to personal characteristics, entrepreneurship capacities, capability to seize opportunities, risk readiness, inability to display managerial skills, and the lack of confidence and foresight. Furthermore, women entrepreneurs are affected by organisational elements, culture, and ability to source, especially capital, which lead them to choose low-risk enterprises that yield low income. As a result, it is vital to explore the participation of women in entrepreneurial activities. Focusing on the context of women entrepreneurs, this study aimed to develop a comprehensive model to describe the new venture creation process. There are four components that contribute to women entrepreneurship (Gartner, 1985). The first component involves the psychological perspective, which influences one’s decisions to engage in entrepreneurial activities. The second component involves the environmental perspective, which refers to the influence of the surroundings on entrepreneurial actions. The third component involves the organisational perspective or the type of organisation, which motivates one to engage in entrepreneurial activities. The final component involves the entrepreneurial process, which influences one’s decision to engage in entrepreneurship. The adaptation of new venture creation model based on the views of Gartner (1985) has been considered multi-dimensional, rather than single-dimensional, to explain women’s entrepreneurial activities. The proposed comprehensive model in this study to elucidate the women entrepreneurship phenomenon in relation to new venture creation, beneficial towards policymakers to establish effective policies and promote the engagement of Malaysian women in entrepreneurship and ultimately aid in poverty alleviation

The right to health care in Thailand is a legal entitlement aimed at ensuring comprehensive and effective access to public health services. However, challenges such as public unawareness of their rights and dissatisfaction with the health care system persist. Issues within agencies and service providers, such as personnel and budget shortages, low morale, and unfair remuneration, further hinder the system\u27s effectiveness. Additionally, unequal distribution of budget expenditure affects the quality of services received. A survey study was conducted in Samut Songkhram Province, involving a sample of 399 individuals aged 15 to 59 years. Data analysis involved statistical measures like frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, and chi-square. Satisfaction in exercising health care rights was found to be at a moderate level, with an average score of 3.17. Personal data, including work duration, working hours, family size, monthly income, occupation, religion, education level, and current workplace, showed a significant relationship with satisfaction in exercising health care rights. However, factors such as age, sex, and underlying disease did not demonstrate a significant association. The study highlighted a moderate-level relationship between education level, current workplace, and satisfaction in exercising health care rights. Despite the legal importance of health care rights, there are still prevalent problems causing distress for both service providers and recipients. Therefore, it is crucial for those involved in health care provision to expedite care and assistance across various fields, enhancing service quality and meeting the needs of users. By doing so, service recipients can experience satisfaction and improved quality of life. Furthermore, it is advisable to conduct comprehensive research on long-term health care utilization to obtain more in-depth insights. The right to health care in Thailand is a legal entitlement that aims to provide accessible public health services for the well-being and livelihood of the population. However, challenges remain, including public unawareness, system inefficiencies, and disparities in resources. Efforts should focus on improving service quality, addressing user needs, and ensuring overall satisfaction. Future research should also examine long-term health care utilization for a more comprehensive understanding of the topic
