    Get PDF
Introduction: The present research aims to carry out a pilot study to evaluate the earliest efficacy of the Assistance for Learners Confronted to Trauma (SSET) program in reducing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and boosting adaptability and social interaction between kids living in rural areas of Southern Punjab, Pakistan, that are influenced by food scarcity.  Objectives: The aim of this pilot investigation is to determine whether the SSET method is effective in treating traumatized kids, particularly those who have been impacted by extreme events like flooding. The goal of the study is to determine how the program affects children who live in environments with limited resources in terms of signs of PTSD reduction, resilience building, and believed assistance from others. Methods: The research\u27s methodology involves testing 195 kids for signs of post-traumatic stress. 42% of the kids in the sample as a whole fulfilled the requirements. The unplanned allocation was used to place these qualified kids into the experimental group (n = 81) or the control group (n = 69). The experimental group received the SSET program from a provider who had undergone clinical training, whereas the control group was not given any special treatment. Results: The study\u27s findings showed that children in the experimental group who participated in the SSET program experienced a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms as well as a rise in resistance and reported social support. By laying the first basis for the SSET program\u27s deployment in this particular setting through this trial, non-clinicians may later use it to treat psychiatric problems associated to trauma. Conclusions: According to the study, non-clinicians may use the SSET program to treat psychological problems associated to trauma in situations like these. These results establish the groundwork for more study and the prospective application of the SSET program as a successful intervention for kids afflicted by natural catastrophes

This inquiry explores how optimism affects COVID-19 fear and feelings of stress among young Indian women after the pandemic. The sample consisted of the test scores of 199 young women between the ages of 18 and 21. All of them lived in the Noida area of UP, India, and were first-year students at a private university. The study used reliable and valid psychometric tools to evaluate how stressed, afraid of COVID, and optimistic they were. Based on the sample\u27s parameters, Spearman\u27s association was used to analyse the relationship between the study variables, followed by linear regression, which was deployed to understate impact. The correlational analysis showed that optimism, stress, and fear associated with COVID were all strongly linked. Furthermore, optimism was identified as a significant predictor of COVID fear and stress, explaining about 3.3 per cent and 25.6 per cent of the negative variance, respectively. The findings recognised a positive role for optimism in reducing stress and pandemic-associated fear or apprehension, which can be a base for further analysis to ensure better mental health service delivery

Enhancing Tooth Brushing Skills for Children with ASD Using Video Modeling based on Social Story: Face and Content Validity

    Get PDF
Introduction: Tooth brushing has an essential role in oral health maintenance and is one of the basic self-care skills. However, children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are at higher risk of developing chronic oral health conditions. Thus, to improve tooth brushing practice for children with ASD, special education and intervention methods are needed. The most common method is visual pedagogy, which relies on children\u27s ability to understand pictures better than words, including pictured books, social stories, video modelling and picture-based apps. Objectives: Research aims to look into the face and content validity of video modelling and social stories on tooth brushing skills in children with ASD Methods: The semi-structured interview was used to assess face validity, whereas the content validity index (relevancy, clarity, simplicity, and ambiguity) was employed based on input from experts and practitioners in related fields. Results: Results show that face validity resulted in feedback on the suitability of videos for tooth brushing activities, video quality and clarity, video instructions suitability, task analysis arrangement, and "other" recommendations. Furthermore, the content validity from all task analyses acquired a minimum level of 0.78 reading to qualify as an accepted task analysis for the entire video. Conclusions: Video modelling with the social story can maximise the strengths of children with ASD, mainly when teaching tooth brushing skills but requires examining the face and content validity and refining the developed module as needed to ensure it remains reasonable and practical

Human Resource Management Model with ICT Architecture: Solution of Management & Understanding of Psychology of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility

    Get PDF
Both the fast development of the economy and the relatively new relationship between corporate strategy management and human resource management have been subjected to criticism. The primary focus of this piece of research and subsequent discussion is on the contribution that intelligent communication management terminals provide to the progression of the paradigm for human resource management. In order to establish an Android development environment on a computer, the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) as well as the Android Software Development Kit plug-in for Eclipse need to be installed on the computer\u27s operating system. The design of the system not only makes it simpler and easier to administer the firm, but it also streamlines corporate processes, which in turn reduces the amount of human resources that are required. The system is able to perform a wide range of functions, such as managing personnel, recruiting new employees, tracking attendance, managing training, and managing employment. In order for the function of the system to handle the recruitment plan effectively, essential aspects like the recruiting component, the amount of recruits, the required employees, and the precise arrival time of the workers all need to be made clearly apparent. Employees who are in charge of the company\u27s human resources division are required to comply with all laws and rules that are currently in effect as well as complete any training that is needed. They may also serve as an instructive example for other businesses that are coping with issues that are analogous, which would improve the effectiveness of the administration of the company\u27s human resources

During pregnancy, it is common for pregnant women to present gingival manifestations, especially in the third trimester, due to hormonal factors, the increase in progesterone causes dilation of the capillaries of the mucosa, hyperemia and edema. The objective of the study was to determine the gingival manifestations that affect pregnant patients during the third trimester. A bibliographic review was carried out where the results of the analysis of the fifteen selected articles that were related to the theme were described. The main digital platforms such as Scielo and Pubmed were used. Among the main results, it was found that pregnant women can present mild to severe gingivitis, due to the accumulation of bacterial plaque, because during pregnancy, oral hygiene is inadequate in many women due to the nausea and vomiting they present, which makes them neglect their oral health. It was also found that late treatment causes gingival manifestations to evolve towards damage to the root cement, periodontal ligament and alveolar bone, hence the importance of promotion and prevention by the dentist. It was concluded that the main gingival manifestations presented by pregnant women are mucosal lesions that include mild to severe gingivitis; periodontal pathologies, especially chronic periodontitis, determined by hormonal changes in women during pregnancy and inadequate oral hygiene

The study aims to answer the following questions: (1) What type of culture is employed in the selected pictures? (2) what are the dimensions of culture employed in the selected pictures? (3) What semiotic system indicates culture in the selected pictures? To carry out the study, the researcher analyses eight pictures qualitatively using an eclectic model comprising Cortazzi and Jin\u27s (1999) types of culture, Moran\u27s (2001) dimension of culture, and Peirce\u27s (1991) semiotic analysis framework. The analysis revealed that the pictures represent international and source culture types rather than target culture. Also, all culture dimensions are employed except the perspective dimensions. On top of that, the semiotic elements of the sign are the basic ground for cultural representation in the picture selected
