Outcomes-based Approach in Engineering Education for Special Education Need Students: Psychology and Rehabilitation Elements

    Get PDF
Over the last several years, engineering education has made great progress by introducing Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The paradigm changes from teacher-centered to student-centered in teaching and learning have occurred with the outcome-based approach. Since the 1990s, outcome-based education has been applied globally. The acceptance of OBE occurred due to the signing of the Washington Accord. It is now required as part of certification by the National Board of Accreditation, the leading organization for assessing the quality of engineering schools in the United States. While the good outcomes of integrating OBE in engineering education seem unavoidable, the issue is whether faculty members are equipped to execute the technique. This study aims to explore the influence of OBE on engineering education. A survey is used to conduct the investigation. The observations are positive; the notion of OBE permeates Engineering education in terms of evaluation, delivery, reflection, assessment, and curriculum design, but further training in specific areas is necessary

Background: Pain is one of the main causes of distress and suffering in children receiving care. Children who suffer from chronic pain have negative outcomes not only for their physical health but also for their emotional and spiritual well-being as well as their quality of life Objective: to assess the effectiveness of the instructional program by comparing the pre-test and post-test scores on the mother\u27s knowledge.Find out the relationship between mothers\u27 knowledge and their demographic characteristics. Study Design: A quantitative, quasi-experimental design study was used in the present study. The data collection procedure was carried out on during the period 13th  April 2022 to 2nd March 2023. A non-probability (purposive sample) that was divided into two groups of 48 mothers as a study group (exposed to the instructional program), and the other 48 mothers, who were not exposed to the instructional program and considered a control group. Results: The study results reveal there is a significant relationship between mother\u27s knowledge about pain with their education and occupation. Conclusion and Recommendation: The majority of the studied mothers have poor knowledge about non-pharmacological pain management in the pre-test, whereas there was improvement in mothers\u27 knowledge after exposure to instructional program sessions for the study group. The study recommends that increasing mothers\u27 awareness through educational programs about non-drug pain management to improve and enhance the mother\u27s level of knowledge and reduce the use of medications because of their long-term effects

The objectives are to evaluate the growth and alterations in the money stock\u27s constituents and to assess the structural integrity of the money stock components in light of the new economic strategy. Data on money in circulation, cash in banks, money in the hands of the general public, other deposits with the RBI, bankers\u27 deposits with the RBI, demand deposits, time deposits, reserve money, narrow money, and broad money were compiled using the Reserve Bank of India\u27s handbook of statistics on the Indian economy for 2020–21. The data covered two distinct time periods associated with India\u27s new economic policy: 1963–1991 and 1992–2020. Accordingly, the reserve, narrow, and broad money increased from 25460, 33170, and 45600 million in 1962–1963 to 30297070, 4125948, and 167999630 million in 2019–2020. Its growth rates were 118898.7, 12338.8, and 368320.2. The components of money stocks in India have all undergone structural changes as a result of the new economic strategy. The study also discovered that there are no negative growth rates for reserve money, narrow money, or broad money for the pre- and post-liberalised periods. Period II is much superior in terms of the compound annual growth rate of money stock components

Objective: This study aims to show thatRosuvastatin\u27s inhibitory ability on how myofibroblasts are formed from valve interstitial cells. Methods: The design of this study is an in vitro laboratory experiment using a control group only after the test. A New Zealand rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) male 12 weeks old heart valve was extracted, and interstitial valve cells were isolated. Valve interstitial cells were induced by fibrosis by administering TGF-β1 5 ng/ml and then treated with rosuvastatin at 10 µM/L, 25 µM/L, dan 50 µM/L. Results: On immunohistochemical staining of TGF-β1-induced valve interstitial cells, the expression of α-SMA 23474 (18452 - 25671) showed myofibroblast differentiation. Administration of Rosuvastatin at doses of 10 µM/L, 25 µM/L, and 50 µM/L significantly decreased α-SMA expression in TGF-β1-induced valve interstitial cells (4.975 (4.08-13.4), 3.955 (2.88-6.82), 3.9 (2.36- 5.01) (p<0.01)). Comparing a rosuvastatin dose of 10 µM/L with 25 µM/L and a dose of 10 µM/L with 50 µM/L found a significant difference in the decrease in α-SMA expression (p<0.001). Comparing the rosuvastatin dose of 25 µM/L with 50 µM/L did not find a significant difference in the decrease in α-SMA expression (p=0.74). Conclusion: Rosuvastatin can significantly inhibit myofibroblast differentiation in interstitial valve cells induced byTGF-β1

Clinical practice, an important turning point in the nursing curriculum, is a process that converts students into professional nurses. At this time, it is necessary to understand the unique emotional experiences that nursing students experience. If negative emotions are not properly resolved during the clinical practice period, they will lead to maladjustment, so it is necessary to examine and understand students\u27 emotional responses. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of transition shock, taeoom perception, and nursing professional self-concept on professional socialization in nursing students with clinical practice experience. Methods: This study is a descriptive survey study, and a total of 132 subjects responded to the survey. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. This study was conducted after submitting the research proposal to the Institutional Review Committee (IRB) at Konyang University, and receiving approval of IRB exemption (KYU-2021-08-027-001). Results: As a result of multiple regression analysis, nursing professional self-concept (p<.001) and gender (p<.05) had a significant influence on professional socialization. The higher the nursing professional self-concept (B=1.719), the higher the professional socialization, and women(B=18.037) had higher professional socialization than men. The nursing professional self-concept (β=0.570) was found to have a greater influence on professional socialization and had 37.5% explanatory power.
