ABSTRACT Online food delivery (OFD) services are increasingly common in Malaysia. Many people are drawn to use OFD in their daily lives because of its benefits for customers. Consumers have the option of ordering food online and using a delivery service rather than doing so in person. People from all walks of life are able to order food with just one click from their gadgets in the information technology (IT) era. A developing new trend in Malaysia\u27s food and beverage business is online food delivery (OFD). Online food ordering has replaced eating out, which is no longer solely limited to takeout and dining out. The development of online food delivery services may be ascribed to the evolving urban customer. Even though OFD services are significant and Malaysian consumers\u27 attitudes toward them are changing, research on the factors that influence university students\u27 attitudes toward OFD services is scarce. There was little use of online food delivery services during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Hence, customers\u27 constantly shifting demographics have necessitated adjustments in marketing strategies, particularly in the area of food ordering and delivery. The way customers interact with merchants has changed significantly, notably in the area of ready food. However, some restaurants have been compelled to change their business models to adopt creative strategies for Online Food Delivery (OFD) services as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. This paper seeks to study the factors contributing to university students\u27 usage towards online food delivery service during Covid-19 pandemic. A quantitative approach was used in this study. Questionnaires used to collect the data from all respondents via Google Form. The respondents were university students aged 18 to 24 who used online food delivery services during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the number of samples as many as 360 people. Therefore, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) will be used to evaluate the research data. Finally, this study can be applied and extended to determine factors contributing to university students’ usage towards OFDS during the new normal of COVID-19 in other countries. Moreover, the results found how online food delivery services had an impact on service providers in giving excellent service and fulfil their customers\u27 desires. Keywords: Online food delivery (OFD), perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust, social influenc

This paper presents an analysis of American female writer Pearl S. Buck\u27s novel "The Good Earth," for which she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1938. Drawing upon the core concept of "cultural imagery" from the perspective of cultural linguistics, the study interprets the essence of cross-cultural competence in the text, revealing the significant role of English in the dissemination of Chinese culture. "The Good Earth" delves into the portrayal of rural Chinese society, showcasing the tumultuous fate of the Wang Lung, an ordinary Chinese farmer, and his family. It depicts the challenging life of Chinese farmers during the early 20th century, as they struggled against natural disasters in the agricultural era. The novel affirms the deep attachment of Chinese farmers to their land, praising their virtues of hard work, simplicity, and resilience. "The Good Earth" authentically showcases Pearl S. Buck\u27s profound understanding of Chinese culture. With her cross-cultural experiences and perspectives, she has crafted a unique portrayal of China that has had a significant impact on Western readers. Breaking away from traditional Western literary representations of China, her work holds constructive significance for the study of the dissemination and reception of Chinese imagery. The cultural symbols in the novel and the dissemination of Chinese traditional culture both require the guiding perspective of cultural linguistics to encourage audiences to engage in profound reflection on the characters portrayed in the work. Through a global perspective, it fosters recognition of the construction and dissemination of Chinese imagery and enhances the world\u27s understanding of China

In an era dominated by stress and competition, the pursuit of mental stability among young adults, particularly in the medical field, has led to the adoption of alternative practices with potential health repercussions. This study delves into the realm of dental students\u27 knowledge, awareness, and perceived harm of vaping in Karad city, shedding light on a phenomenon that has become increasingly prevalent within the dental community. The introduction of e-cigarettes, colloquially known as "vapes," has presented itself as a seemingly less harmful alternative to conventional smoking. This study, conducted at the School of Dental Sciences, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Karad, aims to unravel the intricate tapestry of attitudes and beliefs surrounding e-cigarettes among dental students. The cross-sectional study involved 304 dental students, both undergraduates and postgraduates, with a mean age of 24.6. A substantial majority (55.3%) reported never having smoked, and 60.6% had no history of e-cigarette use. However, a notable 26.5% identified as smokers, while 39.4% had experimented with e-cigarettes, with 23.3% currently using them. Despite engaging in vaping, dental students exhibited less favorable attitudes toward e-cigarettes, indicating a potential gap in understanding. The study brings attention to the urgent need for enhanced education among health professionals, specifically dental students, regarding the design, chemical content, and health effects of e-cigarettes. The discrepancy between perceived harm and actual knowledge underscores the importance of clear guidelines to regulate vaping behavior. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing specific insights into the awareness and attitudes of dental students in Karad city, a geographical area where such studies are notably scarce. The findings advocate for targeted educational interventions, emphasizing the potential risks associated with vaping, to promote informed decision-making among dental professionals and pave the way for a healthier future

Ethnic Claims in Iran in Terms of Justice and Development

    No full text
The identity/ethnic diversity in modern Iran has occurred contemporaneously with globalisation processes and brought about interethnic conflict orientated toward identity- and justice-seeking to eradicate discrimination and inequality, in line with the achievement of social development. This is the issue that the present research has sought to investigate among Persians, Azeris, Kurds, Arabs and the Baloch in Iran. Iranian social identities are dissatisfied with the dominance of elements of the Persian identity and do not find the reduced status of Iranian historical identity to be in alignment with justice and the development of collective identities. There are ambiguities involved in the use of ‘ethnic identity’ and ‘national identity’ among some minorities in Iran, there is a great emphasis on using the word ‘nation’ instead of ‘ethnic group’. The use of the term ‘ethnic’ in this study is not intended to diminish conceptual complexity. This article is an extract from the author’s recently published book[1], which adopted a hybrid, qualitative approach (grounded theory), using in-depth interview surveys and tools; library documentation; and an open questionnaire in 13 provinces to extract and classify data in the following areas: religious identity and national identity (interaction or opposition), interethnic cultural borders, ethnic and national movement dead-ends, elimination of cultures, and a peace-orientated approach to resolving the crises. Thus, a conceptual model was obtained, shaping basic factors (economic and ideological), intervening factors (media and lifestyle), grounded factors (legal and cultural parameters and resource mismanagement) and phenomenal orientation (claims for justice and the socio-political gap), and presenting strategic action (peaceful action, acceptance of the present conditions and state-nation interactions) and its outcomes (stability and decline of social capital). ADME-Toxicity Trade-Offs In Repurposed Drugs For SARS-Cov-2: Prioritizing Drug Safety And Efficacy.

    No full text
The rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2 has prompted a global effort to identify effective therapies, with drug repurposing emerging as a key strategy. However, the selection of repurposed drugs involves careful consideration of ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion) properties and potential toxicity risks to ensure drug safety and efficacy. This study systematically evaluated the ADME-toxicity trade-offs in a range of FDA-approved drugs considered for repurposing as SARS-CoV-2 treatments. Using computational tools, including SwissADME and ADMETlab 2.0, critical parameters such as oral bioavailability, metabolic stability, plasma protein binding (PPB), and hepatotoxicity were analyzed for candidate drugs. The study identified key factors that influence drug prioritization, including the balance between antiviral potency and potential adverse effects. Findings highlighted that while some compounds showed strong antiviral activity, their unfavorable ADME profiles, such as low gastrointestinal absorption or high risk of hepatotoxicity, could limit clinical applicability. The analysis emphasized the importance of optimizing drug formulations to enhance efficacy while minimizing toxicity. This research underscores the necessity of a comprehensive ADME-toxicity evaluation to prioritize the safest and most effective drugs for treating COVID-19, providing guidance for future drug development and repurposing efforts
